Service department at Ramsey Nissan used to be very good. They used to have good honest mechanics and advisors until current manager Michael Convertino took over. They do not have any good advisors any more. One of the worst is Jennifer Vanfleet. She is incompetent and very rude.
The practice now is to recommend expansive unnecessary repairs and if you refuse they will damage your car. This happened to me. During my last visit I requested the regular maintenance. Instead I was advised to do a $500 repair that did not seem reasonable to me, so I refused and asked just to do the maintenance – oil change and in-cabin filter replacement.
When I got my car back I had body damage and my glove compartment did not open properly. I addressed this to the manger right away and he offered to paint my car and check the glove compartment, but I would have to leave my car there. This did not seem as a good idea to me and I am glad I did not leave my car at Ramsey Nissan.
I just went strait to another dealership and they confirmed that I DID NOT need the $500 repair that was recommended by Ramsey mechanic/advisor. After inspecting the glove compartment they determined that during installation of in-cabin filter Ramsey mechanic ripped off the string that holds the glove compartment door. So it had to be replaced. But it gets better, after taking the glove compartment a part we found that in-cabin filter was jammed in and all crumbled up, so they had to replace the filter that was just installed by Ramsey mechanic as well.
Seeing this with my own eyes made me realize what would be done to my car if I would leave it at Ramsey Nissan over night. It is hard to believe that something like this could happen at Nissan dealership. I used to be Ramsey customer for years and this is how they repay you for being the loyal customer. This experience would make me think twice, before considering buying another Nissan.
Sounds very familiar with the upgrade of the service but they never damaged my car. I will no longer be bringing them my car.
Purchased a car and engine light went on, they came it was the gas cap so they tighten it and reset the error- a weel later the light came on again, let see what they say this time- on more error and it will be a lemon in my eyes, let see what the dealer does at that point – it could get ugly — more to follow
They gave me a good lease deal on a 2011 Sentra SR.
Just when you think that new car sales people must be more honest these days to stay in business, you stop into Ransey Nissan, or any of the Ransey dealers, and realize that they live a perverted way of life. Not normal. Their environment is all about lies and word games and they are probably much better at it than most. We are no match for them. Our only defense is to take the high road and walk the hell out when you get that feeling only lying skums can give you. Beware and be careful.
If you give them a chance, they will lie to you. Don’t be taken. Buy from them, no problem, just get it all in writing first. Any claims made not in writing will be lies. DO NOT sign the no litigation part of the sales order. Good luck.
I went to Ramsey Nissan to look at used Infiniti G35. The salespeople were friendly but the car I was interested in would not even start and the salesperson did not seem to think it was a big deal. Considering the dealership did not even try to fix it, I would certainly would think twice before heading to Ramsey Nissan considering how they look after cars on their own lot.
Sales person took great care, offered price I wanted, but… Things got ugly when financing part started. This is my first and last car I bought at that dealer.
I took my Pathfinder in for a standard service because the Service Engine Soon Light was on. Was told to leave it over night and it would be done within a day or 2. Went to pick it up a day later and received a bill for $500 for a service. Paid, went into the car and to my surprise the Service Engine Soon light was still brightly lit. This after I paid the full $500. Attempted to get a refund but the person working had no clue how to do it. Told me to just bring it back the next day and they will take a look at it. That’s a joke right? This is not my first time dealing with this dealership. I was weary of them in the past and now I do not trust them after this incident. To blatantly lie and say that a service was completed and make me pay for it and as it turns out it was never done to begin with is fraudulent. I will never return to this place of business. Everyone should avoid them. They can respond to this post all they want, the fact remains they lied and said work was done that was never completed.
The salesperson was fairly decent but when the manager got involved things got ugly.
They will try to hook you and mislead you and certainly don’t play fair. They also don’t stand behind their word.
Of course I found this out AFTER I had made the deal.
Find yourself another Nissan dealer.
Big Dog 57 is actually an ex-employee of Ramsey Nissan. We will not reveal their name or current place of employment. Not our style of business. Big Dog is currently employed at another local Nissan store. Frankly, we find it sad they need to result to this method to improve their performance. Are we to believe that someone this disappointed and “high pressured” into a sale would make a deal with 5 other Nissan stores within 10 miles? Not in Bergen county, NJ.
Best of luck in your future,
//RN
I am NOT an ex-employee. I’ve never worked in the car business.
I am a customer who recently bought a Nissan Altima from them. Had I
realized what they were about before the deal I never would have bought
the car.
The dealer in Hackensack would be a much better choice. I spoke to them
about the problems I had with Ramsey and they said they had other
complaints about them as well.
Don’t go to Ramsey. They will lie to you for sure and then claim they don’t know what you’re talking about.

It’s all true. They know that they can lie to you and get away with it. They’re sick with no respect for decent people. the worst.
NO, RAMSEY IS NOT TELLING THE TRUTH AGAIN! NOT ONLY AM I NOT AN EX EMPLOYEE, I HAVE NEVER EVEN WORKED IN CAR SALES….OR ANY OTHER ASPECT OF CARS. I’M A MEDICAL RESEARCH ANALYST WORKING ON KIDNEY MALFUNTION IN A LAB.
THESE PEOPLE AT RAMSEY ARE OFF THE CHARTS. CLEARLY UNPROFESSIONAL, LIARS AND CHEATS. WELL, NOT HARD TO BELIEVE AS THEY ARE CAR SALES PEOPLE AFTER ALL.
TIME TO BUY AMERICAN ANYWAY. I BOUGHT A CHEVY TRUCK INSTEAD OF DEALING WITH THESE HIGH PRESSURE CHEATS.
All true…if you like classic used car sales people…go to Ramsey Nissan and all the Ramsey dealers and get screwed.
