We bought a new 2007 Honda Odyssey from this dealership a few years ago. We were both misled and outright lied to by the sales guy about the coverage of the dent repair warranty. We first realized the “misled” part, after which we asked the dealership to refund the cost of the warranty. They said they would, but never sent the check and stopped returning my phone calls.
While dealing with that mess, I discovered the “outright lied” part. We had asked the salesman directly when we bought the car if the warranty would cover dents in the bumpers, and he claimed it would. I said, “Are you sure? The warranty seems to say that it only covers sheet metal components. Are the bumpers made of sheet metal?” “Yes, they are, they’re covered,” he responded. I called the company that actually issued the warranty, and they confirmed that the bumpers are *not* sheet metal and are *not* covered by the warranty.
So I sent Ray Ciccolo, the owner of the dealership, a letter informing him that if he didn’t refund the cost of the warranty as well as some money to compensate me for all of my time his dealership had wasted on this, I was going to sue him for deceptive trade practices and he’d end up paying me triple damages. That finally made him pay up.
Other complaints:
They spam us over and over. We ask them to stop, over and over, and still the spam keeps coming.
We supposedly received a “VIP membership” along with the car, which supposedly entitled us to three free oil changes, but when my wife took the van to the dealership for an oil change, they (of course) upsold her all sorts of services she didn’t actually need, and charged her for the oil change despite the fact that she specifically mentioned that it was supposed to be free. I complained to the service department manager afterwards, and he said that all we had to do was mention the VIP program and we’d get the free oil change. I responded (in email) that my wife *had* mentioned the free oil change, and they charged her anyway. He never responded to my email.
Since June 2009, they’ve been sending out promotional mailings in envelopes, without their name on the outside, that are intentionally designed to look like official government correspondence (e.g., there’s a bogus certified mail stamp printed on the envelope, and the year and return address are printed on the envelope using the same font and format that the IRS and Social Security Administration use). This is totally slimy obnoxious. I asked them months ago to stop sending them to me and they continue to come.Honda Village fits perfectly into the stereotype of the lying, cheating, stealing car dealer.
i came with the problem that in my opinion should be under the warrantie. I got the piece “polished” and the warning that the next time it happens i will have to pay for repair. Many unanswered question… it’s not my first unhappy visit there.
I only go there because it’s close to my home… but that was my last visit there….
very unsatysfied !!!
