My wife and I walked in to buy a new Ford Escape over the July 4th holiday weekend after seeing advertisements for substantial holiday discounts. After a test drive we sat down to discuss pricing. The salesman, Jose, who had been very helpful, brought his manager, Adam Zazai, to discuss with us. At first he would not give us the actual sale price, but would only discuss “monthly payments,” regardless of whether it was a purchase or lease. When I insisted we focus on the sale price, he presented a price several thousand dollars above the MSRP. He explained the cars are all dealer-marked-up by $4000. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I said the car we wanted had no dealer mark-up on the sticker. He said it must have been a mistake or the car just arrived (the car was dirty with dust and bird droppings it had been sitting so long in their lot). I said we looked at 3 other cars in the lot, none had any indication of a mark-up, AND the sales rep made no mention of any mark-ups. In fact, the sales rep said flat out that “nobody pays MSRP,” and he can “work with us on the price” once we decide which model we want. Adam then said the cars should all be marked, and he can see if he can come down a little from the $4000 mark-up. I said forget it, we’re done and we left. I contacted 4 other area Ford dealers – all were offering the same Ford factory rebate of $3900 plus $1100-$1300 in dealer discounts – no one heard of any dealer-mark-ups. We closed on the car we wanted, the same car we tried to close at Sunnyvale Ford, but for $6000 in combined discounts, below MSRP, No hassle, no lies, no deception. This was actually the 2nd time we had been to Sunnyvale Ford. The first time, in 2014, we also had a terrible experience – bait and switch. Run away from Sunnyvale Ford. Fortunately there are other Ford dealers in the area who are reputable and honest to deal with.
Do not go to Sunnyvale ford they lie and don’t care. On the 15th I went in and traded my jeep for a 2010 ford escape, and I was told I was approved by finance without a problem because I had a good payment record with Ford Credit Corp. the contract was signed and they gave me paperwork to bring to Nissan Sunnyvale to cancel the warranty I purchased when I bought the Jeep.
On Tuesday I received a call from David the sales person called and asked me how my car was and was I happy. I also put about 1,000.00 down. Which they did cash the first 500.00. then I received another call from David letting me know that I needed to come back in to resign the paperwork because they were going to lower the APR and payment. I thought great I told him I would be in on Saturday at noon. So at this point I had the car for a week. I got a call Saturday afternoon from David asking when I would be in I was running behind. I told him I would be in within an hour. I asked him straight up do I get to keep the car. He told me that he couldn’t answer that questions. So I brought the car back, and they tried to put me in another car, which I didn’t want. Ok fine give my jeep back and they did. I had to wait till Monday I was told to get a refund check because the business office was closed. So ok after work I called to check if my check ready and no one knew anything, and ok fine they made the deposit for me on Tuesday.
Here is the bad part due I called Nissan to reinstate my warranty and I was told that once its canceled it can’t be reinstated, so I called Case and let him know what happen, and that I felt ford owes me a warranty now. So because they pulled back on the deal I not only lost the car, but I lost the warranty so if something happens to my jeep I have to pay full price.
Do not go to Sunnyvale Ford I was lied to at every step they can’t tell the truth if their hair was on fire. I called the GM and he was suppose to call me today, but I haven’t heard from them. Here is another fact I received a call from their customer service manager Lynette and she asked how I like my car. I told that the car was taken back on Saturday the 21st. this is how backwards they are there. Do not go there turn and run go to jeep in san Jose capitol expressway
