#hawthornechevrolet don’t go to this dealer. We placed a deposit on this unit and performed everything on their site. When we arrived they refuse to honor the deal and later increased the price for around 10k. Don’t go here Dishonest and untrusted dealer.
Please share this to avoid this happening to other consumers. Once we advised I was going to publish they jumped and fixed it. They advertised on Facebook also. Watch out ??

Very bad customer service.
On 11/4/11 I purchased a 2012 chevy impala from Jim Perkowski at Hawthorne Chevrolet .The entire experience was very positive and I am very satisfied with the deal and the car. I was greeted promptly and given a test drive not only in the model of my choice but in the color of my choice. My salesman was very easy going and at no time did I feel I was under any pressure to buy right now or forget it . Let’s say I was treated with courtesy and respect from the greeting through sales, financing and then delivery and this treatment was from the president of the dealership all the way through the delivery people so I will highly recomend Hawthorne Chevrolet as a great place to buy and service a car
Warning!Warning!Warning! The transmission seized on my 2003 Saturn Vue. We had the car towed to Hawthorne Chevrolet. First they quoted $5500.00 to repair it,when the book value is only $4000.00. When we said no, they came down to $3000.00. We should have seen the writing on the wall, but My wife and I decided it was time for a new car. We settled on a 2012 Chevy Equinox. We did not like the color of the car we were test driving, so the sales rep Jim said that he had the same car in Gold. We were able to see the car, but it was burried in the back of a lot and he claimed that they did not have the keys to drive it on saturday. Here’s where the trickery started. We reviewed all the paper work and the odometer reading on the contract stated it had 135 miles on it. I understand that cars may come from other dealships, so this was not alarming to me. As we were finalizing the deal, they were able to get the car out, so we could drive it home that day. After spending 6-8 hours at the dealership, the sales rep (Jim) started going over how to use the vehicle. By this time my wife and I were exhausted and just wanted to go home. As I was driving home home from the dealer, I discovered that the car we purchased had 587 miles on the odometer. I went back to the dealer and showed them the sheet that showed 135 miles, this information was soon to be lost and I was promissed that my warrantee would start at 0 miles. I still have yet to see the paperwork for this. I asked for $500 back and they offered $250.00 based on the terms that I give the dealership a positive review when I receiev my GM Dealer Survey. I was told by the General Sales Mgr. (Jeff)That I need to show them a copy of the positive survey in order to get the refund.(This blackmail!!!)Also, to add injury to insult we noticed on our credit cardt statement, that our down payment has been charged twice to our credit card. I have a receipt showing a refund, but my credit card statement still does not show the credit. This has been one of the most humilliating experiences I’ve ever had purchasing a new vehicle. I Would rather have my wisdon teeth pulled than go through this again.PS-my battle with Hawthornw Chevrolet is still ongoing. I plan to open a BBB complaint and submit this complaint to GM as well.
Great dealership. Had a great experience purchasing My Traverse. I met with JR Gray and he was incredibly passionate about his job. Overall excellent experience. My friends are coming to this dealership as well.
I don’t recommend. You may find a car but you will be nickle and dimed and will end your experience with a bad taste in your mouth that will linger for weeks. The car i bought failed inspection. just wipers but they refused to reimburse me.
Most people don’t enjoy purchasing a car because of dealing with the dealers and the inevitable feelings of being ripped off, But if you do enjoy that experience, Hawthorne Chevy won’t let you down.
They include nonsense charges in your sale bill, one or two they may drop to give you the illusion that they are cutting you a deal.
Ultimately my experience with them ended in a screaming match over the phone with them telling me essentially that i was cheap and stupid.
I hear ya brother!!This place is the poster child for bad salesmanship. I thought we were on the movid set of “Cadillac Man”!!
Please don’t go to this dealership. These people have no customer service skills. They make you wait hours without apologizing for the long wait. After you leave a deposit they ignore you. They didn’t return my phone calls about when the vehicle can be picked up. After I told them that I will reflect my negative experience on the GM Survey the sales manager, Jeff refused to sell us the truck we wanted to buy. I felt humiliated. Wasted hours for nothing. If you want to save yourself some aggravation please don’t even go close to this place.
