I only rate this crooked dealership one star because that is the minimum that yelp would allow, but they deserve a far further negative rating. They pull every sleazy tactic in the book, including the 4 hour wait around to get to financing dept, so by then you are so anxious to sign all the paperwork and drive, you don’t notice that they have increased the loan amount, signifigantly, in fact it was doubled.
Yes, that is right. Bought a car for a negotiated price of 12,500. Then provided a 1200 down payment, plus a trade-in that they valued at 2000 for trade. So what was the loan amount for when it got through financing…. 15,000. That’s right, more than the negotiated purchase price of the car. Not to mention the interest rate was levied just perfectly to make the monthly payments 299 exactly….84 month term. That is going to be over 25,000 for a car I should have been buying for 9300 (plus interest of course). I got boned hard by these crooks and was complete oblivious to it… I mean I had this feeling that I didn’t pay enough attention during the 7 minutes I met with financing person, and signed a flurry of paperwork, but I was so anxious to leave and start the new car honeymoon at that point. I mean seriously, I had been waiting for four hours, I was also hungry and probably getting impatient. I really feel they took complete advantage of that, even creating that condition.
Fortunately, this deal was so appalling to whomever it is that underwrites their financing, that a week after I had been driving the car, I receive a call that they rejected the deal, I will not be receiving any financing and they asked me to come in to their office to figure out what happened. They helped settle it with the dealer, who has furious that this was getting fixed. The finance guy at the dealership, who I had to revisit to receive some new paperwork, was completely hostile and unprofessional to me. At least now my loan amount is for 7500 (half of what it was) and my payment is under 200month, but no thanks to Valley Nissan, it was only because of the decency of one guy working for another company that saved my ass from these guys.
I had an exceptional experience here. I sent out an inquiry via the web three days ago to get the best price and avoid the whole back and forth “ordeal”. Morgan had not only the best quote but she was so upbeat and enthusiatic about actually helping. The quote did not change when we arrived and she had us laughing the whole time. I would highly recomend not only Valley Subaru but Morgan as well if you want to have a fun, completely honest and transparent purchase. Thanks guys!
Brought my family member in to look at stock of used cars after an accident. I had a previous relationship with the service dept. and knew some of the service folks and managers. I thought I could trust them to be honest! I was so wrong. It Is a classic example of the stereotypical “used car salesman.”, filled with lies like,” Our internet is down ..when ask to see the price comps.” I pulled it up on my Iphone and showed them!! Pathetic. Sadly their Service Dept has turned into another high pressure “Upsale” nightmare!! Run from these guys!
These guys are just out to rip people off, period. They were in bed with Premier Members Credit Union and together lied to trick me into a higher interest rate. Was so satisfying to refi to the rate I should have got. They will try to sell you all the rip-offs, the finance manager must really hate his fellow human beings! I came there because it was my local dealership, now I wish they were gone from my community forever. Buy your car anywhere else.
Extremely dishonest and manipulative. They’ll say they’ll work with you but then attempt to con you in any way they can. These guys should have their picture in the dictionary under the word dishonest and they should and could be the poster boys for your stereotypical used car salesmen. Now I know why most used car sales people have such a bad reputation. Stereotypes really do have a lot of truth behind them as these guys show. Thank God there are decent dealerships and sales people out there and remember, these guys are not among them.
I had a great experience with Valley. This is the second vehicle I have purchased from them and both time it was easy and fun! I can’t complain about anything, thanks Valley for treating customers the right way!:)
Pricing bate and switch .. quoted price of $3,900 on ’99 Sentra. They always said when asked the price “I think its $3,900” didn’t list the price on their web site. 5 days after contacting them to see the car, they still didn’t have it ready. Hadn’t been through the detail shop. When it came time to make the deal, upped the price to $6,600. These guys are the sleaziest. Don’t do business them! “F” rating with the Better Business Bureau.
VERY high pressure to “buy now”. Stereotypical car salesmen.
They hid some fees from me until last minute. “Oh by the way… did we not mention this before, whoops?” By that time, I had already spent a couple of hours in there and had made the decision to buy. Was $300-400 going to change my mind? Of course not. And of course they know that.
I had requested a specific lender, UNLESS they could find me a better deal. They repeatedly told me verbally that I was getting the loan from MY requested lender. Instead they put me up with Chase with the same loan terms as my requested lender. Because of the hidden fees mentioned above, I spent all my attention on the NUMBERS and missed the line which stated the name of the lender when signing the forms. My own fault obviously, but it was very clear that they intentionally tried to slip this by me. Do the folks at Chase give some kind of commission to the dealerships? There must be something in it for them to put me with Chase, whatever it is. Not a huge deal since the loan terms are the same, but just ugly, and it is so obvious they’re ONLY looking out for themselves.
They talked me into getting extended warranty. It turns out the warranty is overpriced by about $500 and it CAN NOT BE CANCELLED, even within a few days of purchase. This, I was told later, is highly unusual.
On a positive note, I am appreciative of these guys for one thing. I learned lots of important lessons and will not be making the same mistakes again 🙂
And, I do like my car. 🙂 I suppose that’s the most important thing, anyway.
Don’t make the same mistake I did. Be prepared for these guys. They will use every trick in the book
to get you to buy the day you set foot in the dealership. I was not prepared because I never planned on buying
they day we were there. I take the blame for my mistake but hope to keep others from making the same.
These guys are high pressure sales. The first thing our salesman said was they were not high pressure sales when in
fact the whole day was high pressure. We said 5 times that we did not want to buy today. We wanted to see what there
offer was and test drive. We sat there over 5 hours before we finally left with the car. And we were the only ones who
bought a car the whole day. Stick to your guns.
The bottom line is I screwed up with the help of a sales team that sells cars every day. They don’t care about
making sure you are happy with everything and explaining things. They are out for themselves and selling you
what they want to sell you and hoping that your inexperience in buying a care will work in there favor. Don’t make my
mistake, don’t trust them and have all your ducks in a row. Do all you research. Speak up if something doesn’t seem right.
Don’t believe for a minute they are looking out for your best interest and making you happy with what you need
and want. And In my opinion car dealers can make you happy while still making money for themselves. I got my last car from a Nissan Dealership in PA and was totally satisfied and didn’t feel pressured or pushed the entire day and was out of there in 3 hours.
Here is what you need to be aware of with them:
1. When they give you an offer make sure you find out exactly where the number came from. They told us one thing and then when the final numbers were on paper they weren’t the same because they had added in the rebate after telling us we would worry about financing later but if we took the rebate we couldn’t get the .9 Financing we wanted. Seemed like classic bait and switch to me. Make sure every number is accounted for. Car Price, Trade, Rebates and Incentives and anything else. Taxes will be added later after they try to offer you things.
2. The will offer you gap insurance. Gap Insurance covers the gap between the value of the car and what you owe on the car should the car be totaled. If you have a large trade or down payment you don’t need it because you will owe less than what the car is worth.
3. They will offer you theft protection. That’s up to you.
4. They will offer you an extended warranty. You can get extended warranties cheaper from outside companies. Just make sure you do your research as to what is covered if you want an extended warranty. It is not cheap from the dealership.
5. They will offer you a number of things that we declined and I don’t remember what they were. I know one was the whole fabric and body protection.
The finance guy talked to us a mile a minute and did not go over things in detail. He gave the papers for us to sign and did not explain to us anything of the fine print or on the back side. Just make sure that you read all of this and are comfortable with it. They will not volunteer information unless you think of asking about it. Like I said, when you’ve only bought a couple cars and it is years apart you probably won’t think of everything.
Bottom line is that they are pushy and pressure, pressure, pressure. I will never buy from them again. I will take my medicine and learn from the mistakes I made. I hope anyone who reads this will think twice of buying from this dealership but if you feel you must for whatever reason please take my advice. Because they won’t care if you didn’t know something or were confused, or missed something. Don’t be afraid to walk out if the numbers aren’t what they told you or seem off.
All in all the worst car buying experience I have ever had and the definition of what I think are misleading and a not straight forward dealership.

Everybody before going to any dealer doesn’t matter where you live should read the story on this site. It is a very sad story.
Can’t say much more than these guys are jerks and will show no respect for your time.
