I ran into some of the same things others have reported here. This dealership will say anything to get you in and buy. After that, they don’t know who you are or what your talking about. I have had so many problems with my car and no one can or will help me. Amazingly the warranty i bought doesn’t cover any of the problems i have? And these problems were suppose to be fixed before the car was given to me!! I guess because i am a women they think i’m stupid. I am disgusted with all the lies and time wasting these people do. I don’t know how half of them sleep at night, but i guess that’s the life greedy, careless people lead. I will blog anywhere i can about this dealership to let the public know how crooked they are. And just FYI this business is not BBB accredited, it has been revoked, due to their failure to comply with numerous complaints. Bell Honda is TRASH!!!! Stay away from them!!!
I have purchased my last 2 Honda’s from Jason Teel and Bell Honda. I am so pleased by the service that I have received by everyone at Bell Honda both in sales and the service department. I cannot say enough about how much they have changed my outlook on dealerships.
Bell Honda completely exceeded my expectations. I was so pleased by friendly staff and amazing service. I would highly recommend Bell Honda.
My experience with Bell Honda was hands-down, the worst I have ever encountered. I went in on Friday after doing some research on a used vehicle that was posted on the internet by Bell Honda. Earlier in the day, I had been emailing an employee and asked very specific questions about the vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership, I was met by two other employees (one a manager and the other sales) and was told that despite my appointment, the employee I was to meet with was sick in the back and I’d be taken care of by the other guy. Instantly, I was nervous. I expressed my concerns with being upsold, taken advantage of or lied to, as I had read these experiences all over the internet by other potential buyers. I was assured that this would not be my case. We went to the back lot, where the vehicle was parked. It was dirty and had no license plate, so I could only try it out in the parking lot. Nevertheless, I loved the car and was ready to buy it right then. I was told that it would be a couple of days for the car to go through and pass inspection and would I mind that? Not at all, I said. I was also told that they would put an order in for the inspection to happen sooner, rather than later. Saturday, in fact. The end of Saturday nears and I call the dealership to find out the status of the inspection. The gentleman I was transferred to didn’t even ask me the make or model of the vehicle I was calling about and instead, tried to sell me other cars that I hadn’t even seen! Over the telephone. He sounded rather bored as he took my number and told me he’d call me back in a few moments when he found the status. That call never came. I had the exact same experience the following day. This morning, I call the now three people that have helped me with this car, only to find out that all three of them are off today. I get connected with a manager who says he’ll check on the status and takes my number. No return phone call. I call again in the early afternoon and was told that the vehicle is now in the shop and someone would call me when it passed inspection and that it would be about an hour. Well, that hour came and went. So, I called again. Somehow, I got connected with a woman in the sales department who finally tells me that that particular vehicle had been SOLD the week prior! BEFORE I even drove it!! Really? I ask then to be connected to a manager who is talking to someone else the whole beginning part of my story and then rudely puts me on hold for a few moments. When he comes back, he gives me some story about the owner of the car not being able to get financing and he was given the car back…why then, did the woman say it was sold, I ask? I’m not sure, he says. I am instantly angry and floored by the lack of customer service, communication or empathy from these people. Not only was there no follow up, there were just flat out lies. All things I was assured would not happen to me. I am truly disgusted and will never, ever give business to this dealership.
Great experience.
After a day of getting jacked around, I was about to give up. One last stop led me to Bell Honda where Rick gave me the kind of attention that a customer should receive. He showed me only what I was looking for,and gave it to me strait. He made promises where I thought ,”Oh here we go again”, but he lived up to every on of those promises. I never “but a car today”, but I did that day. I got a Jeep at a great price and the process was painless. EVen the paperwork was easy and quick. Oh one problem. The battery was not checked and was bad. I bought a new one and when I brought it to their attention. I had a reimbursment check in no time. Again Great experience. If you are looking for a car , go talk to Rick. If your experience was half as good as mine, you will leave with a great new vehicle and a renewed faith in used car salesman.
BELL HONDA REVIEW 08.29.2009
Well – we have just left the BELL HONDA dealership after Shaun Hicks and Michael seemed to drag out an entire evening at the dealership (WITH OUR 2 SMALL CHILDREN!).
We had spent over 2 1/2 hours looking at and discussing the terms and conditions of the vehicle we had selected. We came in pre-qualified and were clear, straight-forward and defined our terms of purchase down to the penny – STATING THAT THIS WAS OUR OFFER – WE UNDERSTAND IF THIS DOESN’T WORK FOR THEM – BUT THIS IS OUR OFFER (which we thought was appropriate and fair). Both, Shaun and Michael, stated that this was a fair and do-able offer that we presented. This was after they presented their first offer of full sticker price for their vehicle and lower than low-ball offer for our trade-in – which I refused and was ready to walk, no hard feelings at that time.
We had visited the dealership the night before and were told (by Shaun) that if we did want to trade our vehicle in he knew he could sell it (noting it is a desirable vehicle) for a certain amount saying take a couple of grand off for their over head and that would be appropriate trade-in value. The terms all seemed to change once they got our pay off amount and realized we would have some equity in our trade in!
But then they came back inline with our terms after some timely discussion… then after 2 1/2 hrs of discussions they came back with the final paperwork that was full price for their vehicle w/ a offer for our trade that was $200 higher than the initial offer that I refused! WTF?! 😮
Why I am frustrated is that we had already discussed and agreed to a trade-in value with BOTH Shaun & Michael!? We had already defined ALL of the terms of the purchase and trade and BOTH noted that this was a do-able and fair offer. I was not frustrated that we couldn’t come to an agreement but I was frustrated that Shaun and Michael misrepresented the deal and dragged this process out for our entire family to endure showing a lack af respect and value for our families time and patience.
Yes – I understand that this might just be typical car dealership etiquette.
I suggest that you speak with and deal with someone at any dealership that is a person that can provide straight forward responses to agreed to negotiations as the discussions progress.
Unfortunatley this was just a long waste of time!
Shaun and Michael – should I bill you for my time?
I purchased an Element from this dealership in 2005 about 3 months after the models debuted. The literature indicated a charge for the CD player, but didn’t mention a radio. I asked the sale person to clarify, and they indicated that the car came with a bvasic radio as part of the standard package. They didn’t have the particular car on their lot, so they got it from their sister dealership. I signed the deal, and low and behold when the car was delivered it, had NO radio what so ever in it. When I called them on it, all I got was that it didn’t come with the standard package I must have been confused. I loved the car while I had it, but this dealership was not honest, nor were they knowledgeable about their cars.
Buying a used car was never meant to be fun, but my salesperson at Bell Honda, Darin Johnson was great. Darin was patient and thoughtful to both me and my wife, who was distracted by my 3 year old son, when we purchased a our “new” Honda Certified used car from him. The car was actually as good as new but with a much better price and get this a much better warranty. We had fun buying a used car and the sales manager Scott and the finance guy Roman both did wonderful jobs in making sure that all our questions were answereed and that we were comfortable with the answers. They actually are not scared of saying that they did not know the answer and went to go find the answer and come back to us with the informaiton we requested. We have continued to do business with Bell HOnda and have had the car serviced and met Adrian onthe service drive who was on top of his job.
We have now owned our used Honda for nearly 4 months and even with this horrible economy, we are dreaming of a new car in the next couple of years. Bell Honda and Darin Johnson can count on us as happy loyal customers.
