I’m forced to give them at least one star by the system but Motorworks has earned negative ratings from me.
I bought a 2008 Audi A4 from Motorworks.
I reviewed the Carfax history, asked the rep regarding what their mechanics found, issues, etc., and was given that car checked out well, no issues.
Less then 1 week after I drove off the lot, check engine light went on. I contacted my sales rep and the first words out of his mouth were to remind me it is an “as is” car.
Went on to find a puddle of oil in my garage at approximately the same time. Code continues to be an issue too.
I have no doubt Motowerks BMW knew of these problems and decided they could legally hide behind “As Is”; according to the Carfax, Motorwerks had owned the car for more than a month and over 1,000 miles.
Legally they’re protected. Morally, they’re bankrupt. I bought a problem. They’ve sold more than a car, they sold their soles at some point.
May karma be their closest companion and Cersei come down upon them with a revenge of “shame, shame”.
To Motorworks and its employees; your character is defined by your actions. If you can live with yourself and how you do business, I don’t know how anyone can live with you.
I purchased a 2005 525i from this dealer in December of 2007. When selecting this car I asked about the history and was told it was originally sold in California and was a trade in. I was also told there were no issues with the car.
I am now trying to sell this car and imagine my surprise when a CarFax report shows the following:
1) It was sold by THIS dealer as new and was not sold in California
2) It was stolen from the first owner, recovered with vandalism
3) This dealer did all the repair work for that recovered vehicle
I have been contacted by the service manager at this dealership, not the sales manager nor general manager and the service manager admitted they knew all this and should have disclosed it. The resale value for this car is now diminished because of this report.
If you want an honest dealer, go to the dealer in Minnetonka.
