Morehart Mugging
Morehart Murphy Chevrolet ignored our stated needs by selling us a Tahoe that did not meet those needs. Here is the story.
• We told the people at Morehart Murphy that we needed a vehicle that would tow more than our current vehicle (Avalanche).
• We told them that the Avalanche towed 6700 lbs.
• We told them that according to Chevrolet.com the Tahoe on their lot would tow more than the Avalanche. The web site was and still is in error.
• They did not tell us that this Tahoe would actually tow less than the Avalanche.
• So, they knew it would tow less than the Avalanche and sold it to us anyway or they did not know it would tow less and sold it to us anyway.
• Either way we were sold a Tahoe that did not meet our needs and yes they were well aware of those needs!
• What if we had towed our trailer and had an accident caused by the overload?
• We asked for a full refund on the Tahoe we bought. It had less than 800 miles on it.
• They refused to give us a full refund. We lost over $5000.
• We have purchased 5 new vehicles from them in the past 6 years.
• THEY WILL BE THE LAST!
• Don’t buy From Morehart Murphy Auto or you might be mugged too!!!

We appreciate your business over the last six years, and we are very sorry you feel this way. We worked very hard to locate the replacement (and better-equipped) 2015 Tahoe that you are currently driving, and we hope that it is meeting your needs.
As you are aware, The Better Business Bureau examined the complaint you filed with them and determined that Morehart Murphy Regional Auto Center “made a good faith effort to resolve your complaint.” Additionally, Chevrolet assessed the complaint you filed with them and reached the same conclusion as the Better Business Bureau.
We are sorry that you are not satisfied with the efforts we have made on your behalf, and we wish you well.
• First of all, about your apology. It seems like you are sorry about the fact that you and GM have lost our business forever. (Steve has been a loyal GM customer for over 40 years) You did not express, nor has anyone from your company ever expressed, any sympathy regarding the mess we are going through!
• Secondly, we are very disappointed that you have again failed to address even one issue of our complaint.
• With regards to you working very hard to locate a replacement Tahoe; the fact is that WE located the Tahoe not you.
• With regards to the replacement Tahoe being better equipped; it is better equipped BUT it had a lower price tag!
• With regards to the above two bullets; neither one of them have any relationship to our complaint against your dealership!
• OUR COMPLAINT IS THAT YOU SOLD US A TAHOE THAT DID NOT MEET OUR CLEARLY STATED NEEDS! AND YOU REFUSED TO REIMBURSE US THE MONEY WE LOST BECAUSE OF YOUR MISTAKE.
• With regards to our Better Business Bureau complaint; here is the official outcome of that complaint:
“…it appears as though the company has addressed the issues of your dispute and is unwilling to make an adjustment to their position”. We do not see how you can interpret that as meaning that your company “made a good faith effort to resolve your complaint.”
• In regard to our Chevrolet complaint, once again you have directed attention away from our complaint with your dealership. We are still waiting and we deserve an honest answer to our stated complaint. And the people on this and other forums also deserve to see your answer.
• Besides ignoring our complaint, you have yet to explain why your company received reimbursement money from GM. Why wasn’t this money given to us? We are the ones that lost nearly $5000!
Well I have been waiting for a response and still have not gotten one. Doesn’t surprise me as you have never responded to my complaint. you just dance around the edges. Way to go!
The female service manager at Morehart is a B%$^&. She has no business being in this line of work. She should not be allowed to deal with people. At best she should be changing oil filters away from the possibilty of interaction with customers.
She is rude, a liar, and has an all around snobby attitude. Being extra nice and polite to her is only an encouragement for her to be even less accomodating and more rude.
I enjoy everything else about the dealership. Everyone else is GREAT.
BUT, that female service manager has got to go.
I would buy another car there if she was gone, or at least kept away from the customers.
