My car originally came from South Bay, but since Universal was near my office, I began taking it there. Overall, its not bad. Even at their most busy, the service advisors have been nothing but polite to me. I am by nature a question popper, and often stop by just to get information; and I have to say that no matter haw off the wall or strange the question, they never made me feel embarrassed or dumb. As an example, I’ll use the last time I was at the dealership. I recently took my car in for it’s 45,000 maintenance check. I arrived two hours late for my appointment and walked into what could only be called controlled chaos. All the advisors were extremely busy with cars everywhere, but even with this going on, when I got to the counter the advisor answered all my questions completely and didn’t make me feel rushed at all. Also, he showed my three levels of service with hugely different prices, he never pushed of dismissed any of them. Overall, it was a very good experience.
The sales end of our purchase went really well. I thought I must have been dreaming. But our problems with the dealership stem from their inept service department.
They allowed us to drive off the lot in our car with seriously messed up tire pressure which during our drive home resulted in damage to the tires. Two of the tires were inflated with less than 10 PSI and the other two to 20PSI and 30PSI! When we contacted the dealership our conversation went from resolution to rudeness overnight. The service manager accused me of coaching a tire installer on what to say after they requested I visit a local tire shop for evaluation. I don’t know that I’ve ever been so pissed off talking to a mechanic. From this experience I think it’s safe to say they do not stand behind their work, but will try very hard to belittle their clients.
