Complaint Description:
We purchased a used carworth 20K BMW to Westmont of Mercedes Benz (11/11/2010), prior this to visitthe dealer we exchange email and negotiated to lower the price to 20K. Heagreed to sell the car for 20K, We met with the sale rep name Jim Fico (sales) myson, my wife and I was all present asked him regarding warranty, test drive thecar and do the paper works. I specifically as him regarding the warranty and Iwas told it comes with 60 days bumper to bumper cover, His own words “Weare not mom’s and pop dealership will take care of you it comes with 60 dayswarranty”. We purchased the car 11/11 after two days the oil startedleaking (transmission and valve cover) I called Jim Fico on Monday 11/15 andtold me to bring in the car for service and will provide a loaner. We went backto the dealer after we purchased the car worth 20k, used it for four days (70miles). I received a call from the service advisor the Jim Fico and Mike Amatowill have to authorize the repair, waited for two days no call or communicationfinally I called again Monday 11/22 talked to Jim Fico and he told they willNOT cover the repair since the price of the has been lowered and no profitmargin bottom line they refused to authorize repair of the oil leaked and toldthe already lower the purchase price from 24K to 20K. However during the testdrive the sales did NOT informed us of any issue with car. In fact he told myfamily that any used car they sell goes to a detail checking from thedealership, this one is a BMW since the have the sister company Westmont of BMWit went to BMW for checking before selling the car. The service advisor ThomasFrizzle has been very helpful however he can’t authorize any repair the unlessthe Mike Amato give him the approval. The bottom line we purchased a used carfrom Westmont of Mercedes Benz after FOUR days and 70 miles it started leakingoil (transmission and Head Casket) the dealer refuse to fix it. I was notinformed of any issue during the test drive. Please let me know if you need anydocumentation to support my claim.
