Liars. Simple as that.
They sold me a pre-paid maintenance package, and said the cost was $2400. They added a second charge of $3000 that says “Extended Maintenance.” They added that charge with no disclosure.
They are literally, cheating, thieving, liars.
High pressure. Attempted to sell BS warrantees through multiple steps in the process.
Do not buy a car from these guys.
First was told one out the door price and arrived to find out it was a different price. Went into financing and wanted to keep the payment at one price and found out the we’re trying to upswell services that sounded pretty good. So the finance manager adjusted our interest rate to make it affordable. When I got home I found out he actually added months onto our deal. What a scam!
Do not ever buy from Lustine Dodge.
This company only makes money by lying, cheating and stealing from their customers. They advertized a car for $8500, and when I came in to buy the car, they said it would be $13000. (The blue book value was in the $8500 range). They lied to me and tried to show an invoice that they had bought the car for $9000. Ok, Now why would you buy a car for $9000 and advertize it for sale at $8500? There is no possible way that they bought the car for $8500, as the wholesale price on the car would have been $5000. Dealers say don’t insult their intelligence with a low ball offer. Well this dealer needs to wake up, smell the coffee, and stop insulting the intelligence of their customers. Lustine Dodge=Liars.
Lustine Dodge=Con Men, Lustine Dodge=Scam artists. Thank goodness I did not buy a vehicle from Lustine Dodge. Do not believe a word that they say. Do no believe any 5 star rating in this or any other site as that rating is a shill. It is too bad that they do not try to make an HONEST dollar, it would actually save them a lot of time as it takes effort to manufacture the lies that they make up about reconditioning fees and what not.
DO NOT EVER BUY FROM LUSTINE DODGE, unless you like parting with your hard earned money. LUSTINE DODGE employees are a bunch of scam artists. DO NOT BUY THERE. It is a complete waste of time to even step foot in the showroom at Lustine Dodge.
This dealership takes pride in the volume of sales they pump out and it showed. I have never felt so insignificant in my life. The sales management pretended to care about my concerns in regard to staying within a certain budget. I let my guard down when they played the “we look out for military card” I asked specific questions about including an extended warrenty. They answered with what I thought was yes answer…long story short I paid 3000 dollars more for car then I was working willing. I trusted them…I realized it hours later, but by then they had already dismissed me as just another # and claimed no conservation ever took place of that nature. It was my word against theirs…and who was I? Just some guy with buyers remorse? I pleaded.. begged…they could care less…they had money to make. I didn’t even get a full damn tank of gas. Smh

Very poor experience; shark-like behavior and dishonest, without a doubt. Pushy to close a deal without the numbers firmed up – absolutely appalling. They stated problems with the vehicle would be addressed – only if minor in nature (in other words if a significant problem with a cost greater than x the buyer is on his own). I refuse to do business with Lustine, period.
On behalf of the entire team at Lustine Toyota, I would like to apologize for your experience. This type of customer service is unacceptable for our standards. We would like to further understand what happened as it helps us to grow as a dealership. If you could please contact me directly, I would like to discuss what occurred so that we may reach a satisfactory solution.
Sincerely,

I brought in my Dodge Durango yesterday (3/13/12) for servicing and was greatly disappointed in the service I received. After checking my vehicle it was discovered that one of the struts, installed (4) months ago by your dealership, was leaking. The service representative informed me that only the struts were under warranty, not labor and I would have to pay $100 per strut for replacement. When I inquired about a discount, considering I have been a loyal customer, he just kept quoting store policy. Granted, they may not be responsible for defective materials but I would think, after reviewing my service record with your company, some consideration would be given in order to retain a loyal customer. I was so disgusted; I refused to have the car repaired.
Furthermore, I had to constantly keep calling to check the status of my vehicle after being told by the service representative I would get a call back letting me know the status of my truck. Granted, I am not the only customer having repairs done, but a courtesy call letting me know that the service department is behind and it would be a while longer would have been acceptable. But to have to keep calling every 2 -3 hours on three separate occasions, only to find out that my vehicle had not be looked at is unacceptable. This type of treatment would make me hesitant to purchase a car from your dealership in the future because I would have serious doubts about their commitment to customer loyalty.
We regret to hear about your negative experience at our dealership. We aim for our customers to be completely satisfied upon visiting us and the impression you received from our dealership was unacceptable. We would love the opportunity to change your opinion of us. If you could please contact me at your earliest convenience, I will work to resolve this matter to your satisfaction.
Sincerely,

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! They deserve ZERO stars in all categories. They are horrible people who ONLY care about money. They don’t care about people’s safety or interests. They sold my boyfriend a complete lemon and now they don’t want to do anything about it. He traded in a perfectly good car to get this one in November 2011 and the engine light came on 9 days later. When he took it back to them to get it “fixed” they held it for 7 days. 4 days after that the engine light was back on again and they held it for another 7 days “fixing” it. The very next day it was back on again and they held it for 5 days. That was in December and now the transmission has gone bad. WTH?!?! This car was NOT sold “as is.” Actually, they said it was a CERTIFIED used car and therefore it should be fixed. These people are cold and careless. Please do NOT give them your business.
Kellye,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take customer feedback very seriously and the experience you are describing is completely unacceptable for our standards. I would be grateful for an opportunity to discuss these issues with you directly so that I may better understand the details of the situation and work towards a resolution. Would you or your boyfriend be open to contacting us at your earliest convenience?
My sincerest apologies,

I went to buy a new Prius. I explained to the sales person that I was considering two cars – the other being a Honda Civic. He involved the sales manager who insisted on trying to get me to commit to a price that I would accept. He did not match my price, instead he provided a counter offer. I asked for 24-hours to think about it – he agreed. I called the next day to say that I would be in to finalized the deal. When I came in, the sales manger on duty refused to offer the same deal – he increased the price by over $500 despite the fact that everyone new another offer was made. Circumstances drove me to take the deal rather than walk out on principle.
DO NOT EVER PURCHASE A CAR FROM HERE!!! They are shameless criminals. Lying about paperwork and financial documents. Telling me my loan was approved when it was not and trapping me into another contract. They are lying thieves and have the audacity to be smug about it.
AMEN!!! I completely agree. Nobody should EVER buy anything form this place!
We went in to try a Challenger for my wife (she has a fused back and cannot get in and out of all cars). Everything went fine and they had a used Challenger she liked. I asked for their lowest price as I am not into haggling. They came back with $25.995 plus tax, title, dealer handling and reconditioning. Luckily I ask questions.
Reconditioning (detailing the car) was $995.00, Title $299.00 (it costs $17.00 to title a car here) dealer handling (filling out the paper work) $399.00 hmmm $1663.00:eek: over what they quoted without taxes? I asked why they could not be honest and tell me the real price… I was told they charge everyone these additions. and they were being honest. They normally do not disclose these unless they are asked. So if I did not ask??
It also turns out they advertised the same car for the last 3 weeks on Yahoo autos for $25495.00 ($500.00 less). That means if I had not questioned them I would have paid an additional $2163.00:confused: that they were hiding from me as pure profit. Surprise!
😡
I wish there was an option for zero stars. I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership, which I found online. When I arrived, the salesman (Gabe) and sales manager (John) told me that they did not touch the car or have to fix a single thing on it – pristine condition I was told. The ad on the Internet said there was a $695 reconditioning fee in addition to the purchase price. I said that I would not pay this reconditioning fee if they never touched the car I was buying. Gabe informed me that it was an average that they charge all customers. That some cars cost more, and some cost less, but they charge an average fee of $695. John agreed to cut this fee in half, and I accepted.
When I went to sign the paperwork, I was shocked to see a reconditioning fee of $999. I questioned it and John said he did better than cut it in half, and showed me a work order on the vehicle for $2500 worth of repairs. Remember he and Gabe told me they didn’t have to touch the car! He tried to word everything to make it sound like I was making out on a great deal, but I knew exactly what was going on. I felt that even paying $650 more for the vehicle, that I was getting a good deal, but I did not agree with the unethical way they did it. When I was driving away, at night in the dark, in my new vehicle, John ran after me and said he switched up papers by accident and switched the work order he originally ($2500) gave me. When I got home, I saw the new work order was for only $1400. He switched the papers on purpose.
Then I go to find out that their “amazing” warranty cost me $200 and I have to get all service done at their garage. All of this was not disclosed to me prior, and when I tried to talk about the warranty, I was side-barred.
I sent an email to the dealership telling them I felt lied to and thought it was unethical. I did not want money back, but wanted to express my concerns. Mike Engle (manager) emailed me back within minutes. Since then, he has ignored numerous phone calls and emails. I even visited the store and he sent two men out to tell me he wouldn’t meet with me. On my visit to talk to him, I vented to the secretary, and she gave me the owners extension. She even said, “Once you buy a car its like they wont talk to you.” Nice when your employees are that honest to your customers.
I have since left three phone messages for the owner over the past three weeks. NO RESPONSE. I am now going to the BBB and every online site that lists a Lustine car or mentions dealership reviews. I know what happened to me, and I just wanted to vent to someone because it is unethical. If my mother went there to buy a car she never would realize that she was being taken advantage of. I hope this message informs at least one person to not buy a vehicle here. I am not bitter, but hate unethical treatment and poor customer service. Lustine must be rolling in the sales so much that they don’t need to worry about customer service.
If you want a Mopar, go to Fair Oaks. I bought two vehicles from them before, and have nothing but great experiences.
Oh my goodness. I am right there with you. They are cold and careless and they lie straight to your face. Trust me, you will NEVER hear from the owner. We got to speak with him only because we walked in while he was there and went straight to his office. He is just like the rest of them. He is ridiculously rude and careless and he will NOT help you at all. I also will be going to the BBB and this is my 3rd posting on a review website. We have the same idea and I hope people will pay attention to these reviews. I wish I could organize a boycott against them.
I, too, had similar experiences as other disgruntled customers. I was treated unethically with no room for admission of error on Lustine’s behalf. They were deceptive, careless, and shark-like. The most appalling thing to me was that it started at the top. Managers were the most immature, grumpy “professionals” I have ever met. They took advantage of me when I was completely open and honest about my circumstances and desires. I will make sure my very large circle of influence knows to stay away from LUSTINE. That is unfortunate, as I love to refer my friends and clients to trustworthy, helpful, knowledge experts who love to serve others. Unfortunately Lustine Toyota is not one of them.
I bought a dodge ram a while back which is doing ok but want to let others know to be aware of this dealership as it is run from top to bottom by shady characters . I mean from salesperson to sales manager to general manager . I guess unprofessionalism and deceit is there motto and method of business. Go there a couple days after having purchased from them and they will act like they don’t know you . No smiles only cockeyed looks. Please be careful and have them sign everything they promise on paper . DO NOT TAKE THEIR WORD ! otherwise , you will be on this site writing .
By accident, I read a number of blogs and rating web sites about bad experiences with Lustine Toyota AFTER I bought my truck. I was pretty surprised, because my experience with Lustine couldn’t have been better. In fact I’ve purchased a number of cars in this area – Cadillac, Chevy, Accura, and Honda — and among all of them my experience with Lustine has been the best — during the sale and after the sale. I think the variance with the bad reports on these rating sites and my very positive experience might have something to do with a change in the key management staff positions at the dealership – some of them very recent. But my discussions with the management — Mike Engle in particular — led me to trust what he was saying and I haven’t had a change of mind since I have done business there. Follow the blogs if you want, but my advice is to give these people a chance face to face to make a deal and judge for yourself. I don’t think you will be disappointed. I certainly haven’t been.
it’s shameful Mr. Engle got his Mom to write a review
I was signed up for a $400 financing option (makes payments biweekly) after clearly stating I was not interested. They refused to refund the amount despite agreeing that we had not wanted to use their “service”. Their trick was saying “do you want to sign up for biweekly payments?” not telling you that “biweekly” is the trademarked name of a 3rd party program to make your payments. So when you respond that you want to make bi-weekly payments, you are inadvertently accepting a 3rd party finance option. There is a $400 sign up fee. The conversation with General Manager Jim Giddings was unprofessional and juvenile. He actually took the opportunity to say he was “scared for our national security if a member of the military (me) would sign up for something he didn’t want.” He used Negotiation 101 techniques and often turned the conversation into personal insults. How someone of his moral character became General Manager says alot about the dealership. My family nor anyone in my military unit will ever use Lustine again.
They have listed cars they don’t have. We called for a specific car, they said they had it. We drove 1 hour and the car “was sold this day”. The car is still in their website. They tried to sell us another car, with lies, too obvious, almost offensive for a informated consumer. They even perform to sell you a car: “give them the cost price and with them you won’t have commission, I am sorry. And we won’t make any profit…”.
Horrible experience!!!!!!
