I went into my local dealership today and left in tears with and empty ripped off feeling in my stomach. I have spent thousands at this dealship over the past 5 years, and it’s been worse everytime. I called and explained that my battery was not holding a charge over night, a LEXUS battery purchased there 9/2008 for $160 with an 84 month warranty. They said to bring it in, they’d take 30 minutes to see why and send me on my way with a new one. After waiting 3 hours, I got no answers. They said they had no clue why the battery wasn’t holding a charge, but that it was not bad so they won’t replace it. They proceeded to charge $66 for half an hour of labor and sent me on my merry way, with a battery that would drain again as soon as I shut off my car. I still feel sick and disgusted and I can’t sleep or drive my car and I’m not sure why. I wish I had a new $66 pair of shoes instead of a wasted day and a dead car battery. I will not ever go back to that dealership, it gets worse and worse each time. Had I known it would cost so much, and take so long I would not have gone there to begin with. I’m very angry and disappointed and will share my experience with everyone I know.:confused::(
I bought a Certified Pre-Owned 2005 LS 430 from Lexus of Seattle. The salesman was very nice and the transaction was OK. When I came back after about two weeks to bring some items I forgot from my car I traded in, I saw another Certified Pre-Owned 2005 LS 430 in the show room. I liked the color combination better (gray on gray) then the one I bought about two weeks ago (darblue on tan). I asked my salesman if it was possible to exchange the cars (for a document fee of some sort) since I put only 215 miles on my LS430. My car had 26K miles and was advertised at 35K while the gray car had 35K miles and was advertised for 32K. I didn’t mind exchanging the cars even though the gray car had more miles.
When the salesman came back from the manager, he told me that they could exchange the car if I would pay about $8000. I almost fell onto the floor. The salesman was visibly embarrassed but could not give me an explanation on why it would cost that much money.
Here I had a car that had fewer miles, was advertised with a higher price than the other car and they still wanted $8000 for the exchange. Needless to say I didn’t exchange my car. My wife liked the Lexus convertible and we were almost ready to trade her Mercedes in for it. But after that episode, I ran out of that dealership. I’m a good customer who mostly pays cash for the cars I buy. I would never buy from them again, ever.
They try to blind you with their fluff like free lattes and cookies or bottled water but when it comes down to it, they are not better than your regular neighborhood car dealer. Just be aware of it should you visit them.
