I walked on to the lot, and was approached by Chase Altimose he was very friendly and just really wanted to know my needs and where I needed to be for my budget. It was nice to know he wanted to make sure I looked at vehicles I could afford instead of trying to push me into something I new i would regret when my first payment was due. He showed me some diffrent option of used vehicles and then showed me a new altima that i completely fell in love with. He told me my payment would be a little higher then where I wanted to be, before he even brought out the write up. I didnt care I wanted to car so bad. He was very non pressure and made sure that the car I picked out was the one I would want. It had everything I wanted except the interior color. He found me the perfect one and I ended up buying. They had the car for me the next morning and I was giving a demo to drive over night and was most pleased. I will always come back to this dealership.
This lot is the worst of the worst. I went in just to look around and get an idea of what I wanted for my next car. I told them this, and the salesman graciously let me test drive three cars. I thanked him and told him I would sleep on it. He then handed me off to someone else who, despite me telling him I was ready to leave, kept me at a desk and pressured me into signing a lease, and instead of making a down payment, I traded in my paid off car. They promised to take $1,500 for it, but they only put $1,000 on the lease. So after all of that, I had buyers remorse and decided to take the car back and try to get my car back, but they stonewalled me with excuses. After that, I went in the next day and had to tell them that I wasn’t leaving the dealership until I got out of the lease. They hemmed and hawed and finally got me out of the lease. However, they failed to disclose that the car that they sold to me for $18,000 was only worth $12,000. So now I am stuck with a 72 month loan and a car that was marked up 50%. So after being deceived by this dealership, I would advise that you stay away from them and go to a reputable, honest car dealership, if one exists. Do yourself a favour, go somewhere else. I hear the Kia dealership down the street is lovely!
Bought a 07 xterra with about 45K miles. Clutch burned out in under 2 months with no towing or off roading (only commuting to work). Also discovered several blown fuses (not a problem tho) I was assured that their mechanics had seen nothing wrong and did a good job during their 143 point inspection even though it was shipped over from another nissan in SLC. Don’t trust their lies! Not covered under their factory warranty (or extended) as its a “wear item”. Apparently I can’t drive stick, even though i’ve driven manuals that have lasted well over 100k miles for majority of my life. If you buy a car from them have a mechanic check it out. Their inspection is worthless. The salesman seemed honest and was friendly, but very high pressure to buy.
My husband and I have never had such poor service in our adult lives. Ken Garff Nissan of Riverdale’s Customer Service is horrendous. We traded our car in for two cars and it took them two months to finally have the finance papers ready for us to sign and when we came to sign them, they were NOT what we had agreed on. They were also supposed to cut us a check for $100 because of the payment difference and it has taken them 4 months to get that to us. Ethan, the man who arrange our finances, told me he would have it overnighted to me 3-4 times in 3 months and I have never seen it. I finally called in today and demanded that they drive it to my house. We’ll see if that happens.
I gave Stephanie, the salesperson who helped us, a price range and she completely surpased it by $6,000. She was a complete jerk and would not help us find cars with other Ken Garff Dealerships.
Every time I call their offices and leave a voice message, they never return my phone calls. I work as a Customer Service Manager and I know that sometimes people forget to call back, but it is ridiculous how they treat their customers! They have never called me back, not even once.
Also, the cars that we bought have been breaking down all over the place. The one car (65,000 miles) had over $1000 worth of repairs done within the first 2 months. The second car (100,000 miles) had $450 worth of repairs within 3 1/2 months. I can understand the second car because of the mileage, but the first car? No way should the fuse box, the alternator and the bushings go out.
I hope that if someone else goes there to purchase a car that they receive better service. It could have just been the people that we worked with (Ethan, Stephanie and Ed). If you’re looking for a Nissan, I would recomend the Ken Garff Nissan Dealership in Orem. The guy that helped us there was very professional, responsible and as honest as a sales person can get.
Check the BBB on these guys! I purchased a vehicle in which they lied about the options and then when I brought it back to let them know of their mistake, they basically gave me the run around and refused to acknowlede any error on their part. Please be careful when going. If you have a trade in, they will take your keys and registration, then you won’t see them (keys) for a long time. Don’t give them the keys. Beware of ‘tag team’ sales approach where multiple salesmen try to pressure you. Better yet, go to a different Ken Garff, try the one in SLC. They seem very honest. Thanks.
Ken Garff Nissan and I were able to work out our differences. They can be quite accommodating. So this dealership, despite the earlier occurrences, is in the end, a good place to buy a car. Chris was able to find out the answers to all of my questions. So you know you’ll be in good hands when you go here.
