I got my MDX towed to them and asked to fix the issue. Everything from there is a horror story.
End of the day, I lost the transmission of my MDX, got it towed back to a local mechanic.
No response from the dealership for any emails or phone calls regarding the complaint.
Never ever trust these guys.
It looks like I might be in the minority on here but I had an absolutely horrendous experience at this dealership. Spoke with them via e-mail, got all the pricing, fees, etc and drove to the dealership. Now I’m not sure if the salesman we were working with was dumb or arrogant but he would sit there and stare at me while I spoke then when I finished speaking, he would not say a thing – just continue to stare. It was so ridiculous, they made me feel like they could care less about earning my business. When it was time to test drive the car he simply handed us the keys and said see you in a bit. He knew we were not from the area and did not tell us where to drive. He did not show us any of the features in the car. We got back, he asked how it was and I started to have a conversation only to be glared at again. They kept us sitting there for almost two hours and we ended up walking over $500. I’m not sure if they did not take us seriously or what, but it was really quite awful. The pathetic thing is that if the salesman had treated us better or at least tried to have some sort of personality rather than staring at us with an arrogant “we don’t need your business smirk” we would have accepted the $500 difference and probably just put more down to reduce our payments. The next day we went to another Acura dealership and wrapped up a sale in an hour flat with a lower sales price and higher trade in.
The real kicker is that the owner was there watching the entire encounter while talking – very loudly – about the price of his new Porsche.
We may be young but no salesman should ever judge a client the moment he or she walks through the door and I’m pretty convinced that is exactly what took place here. As someone who relies heavily on the reviews of others I wanted to make sure I shared my experience. I can also assure you that this review is not made worse because we were mad we didn’t get the car because we did get it, just from another dealer.
My name is Paul Emerson and I am the General Manager at John Holtz Acura. I wanted to take the time to apologize for your poor experience here at John Holtz Acura. As you can see from other reviews and our accolades from Acura your experience is certainly not the norm here at our store and not what we strive for. I truly believe there was a miscommunication on our part and maybe a personality conflict. I do not believe the salesperson was trying to be arrogant or pre-judge you. Every salesperson here wants to sell a vehicle to everyone they meet but perhaps his intentions were not expressed correctly in this situation.
There is not much I can say at this point that will correct our actions but I wanted to personally respond and let you know that I truly do apologize for the treatment you received.
I’m not an employee, never been an employee, nor do any of my relatives work there. I’ve leased and purchased 3 Aura’s from Holtz over the past 14 years. I’ve had nothing but excellent service and support from them. It’s refreshing to have this level of service from a dealer. First rate people and work. The vehicle itself isn’t too bad either.
I’ve brought my car in here for years. One of the reasons I like it so much is because I never feel like I’m in the dark about what’s happening with my car. I usually deal with Elaine and she lets me know what’s happening every step of the way. She’s a pleasure to work with and calls afterward to make sure I’m satisfied with the work that was performed. The technicians are thorough and even caught an unexpected problem before it caused an issue. I’m glad to have a dealership that I can trust.
Brought my SUV for service and they claimed I needed new tires. Tires had 10,000 miles only and were nearly new. They have been reported to the better business bureau for fraud. Very rude from drop off to follow up. I would never recommend this dealer to anyone.
I think you’re mistaken. This is the John Holtz ACURA dealership. You must be referring to the Mercedes dealership since you listed your vehicle as a Mercedes. It’s a shame for you to place a negative review of a dealership that doesn’t deserve it.
The Service was awful. This is the third time i have gone in and had problems the people are rude and the service workers are to. The wait time for an oil change and tire rotation was 3 hours. With no explanation why it took so long. I would never recommend anyone buy a car or service a car from John Holtz Acura
I don’t know what happened that day,but I have been going there for years and have been treated great by everyone from the service manager to the gentleman that had cleaned my vehicle and the work has been performed in a timely manner. I have and will continue to recommend John Holtz Acura to my family and friends.
