I am from Springfield but drove the 80 miles to Heller to see a specific used vehicle. After much pressure I purchased a new vehicle that they insisted would work for my family. When I got home, it didn’t. I returned to Heller the next business day to try to work with them only to hear a deal is a deal and I could trade out of the vehicle but would have to absorb the costs and depreciation of the new vehicle that I drove home and back. Granted I signed the papers but they were still laying on the desk and they could have worked with me but didn’t want to set a precedent for the next guy who “bought a blue truck and then decided he wanted a white one”. Not the same situation, my family litterally doesn’t fit. I sure didn’t get the same reception when I went back as I did the first night I was there and they were all playing with my baby so I could sign those papers.I feel they took advantage of my not so perfect credit but my credit isn’t a reflection of irresponsibility it’s because I have adopted 3 cocaine exposed babies and had high medical bills (which I am paying). To top it all off they had me to write post dated checks for my next three paydays because they wanted more money down then I told them I could afford and I have now learned from the Attorney Generals office that post dated checks are illegal. Heller knew it was illegal because when I asked for copies of the checks and the “internal form” that I signed regarding the post dated checks, they refused to provide them. Think long and hard before going to HELLer.
We just had a GREAT experience with Heller Ford. I showed up, walked in with no warning, to see a few vehicles they had advertised on their website. One of the vehicles was at their Pontiac store (I went to El Paso), but they offered to have it brought right over, and if I could have waited (but had a baseball game to get to) I could have seen it that day.
We got Frank Hill as our salesperson, and I am very grateful. He was very low pressure on what or when to buy, listened to all of my demands as to what I wanted in a vehicle, answered every question we had or got us an answer, and was very professional and kind.
I was looking for good gas mileage and good cargo space – and the two don’t generally go together in a car. Frank offered good advice, without being pushy or telling us what he thought we wanted (like other salesman have done to me). And I was in no rush, so I was a tough sell.
But Frank was nice, and Heller had a great deal at the right time.
The business manager that we dealt with, Ron Clark, was also fantastic. He took all the time we wanted, answered even the most picky of questions about how to handle the financing, and gave us honest advice that wasn’t all about making the dealership more money.
We love our new Ford Freestyle and couldn’t be happier with the deal we got or the way we were treated by Heller Ford in El Paso.
This Dealership is terrible. Be very careful when dealing with them. They will mislead and also lie to get you to buy their cars. They will use every sleezy sales tactics possible so…:mad:WATCH OUT!!!
They called me today to try and resolve issue…which didn’t help @ all. They were screaming in my ear and said this was my fault. WTF:mad:
