Bought a New 2012 Frontier on 1/6/2012 They waited for my wire transfer to clear there account and told me to come pick up they car. When I got there they then informed me that there was damage to the vehicle and they would repair it. The door and hood and to be repaired and repainted. The color didn’t match (Really Bad Job) and the sales manager and A owner told be they would replace it with a factory new painted parts. When I was told to come in for the swap of door and hood I was then told there were going to piant it again. Need I say the color and metal flake and clear do not match. since then they have tried to blow me off. I am filing my law suit next week. They new they were selling me a damaged vehicle and didn’t even try to make it right. Now my car is worth less when I trade it in when they check with a paint depth meter for body work and repaint jobs. I’m am sorry sorry I went to them.
I have bought cars from this place when it was Habberstad Nissan. I recently went in their with my husband to buy a new car. We have always liked Nissans and they have been good when returning leases. The sales man that we sat with was extremely nice but didn’t no anything about the Juke that we were looking at. It was as if this was his first day on the job and first time even looking at this car. The games that continued to be played between the Manager and the salesman were terrible. Our salesman was telling us we could get a better price but that we needed to name it…We did and still nothing at all changed when he came back…He then called us after we left and told us the car that we were intially quoted for at $476 he believed we could get the manager down to $376! Yeah, wasted hours there and this is what happend. Decided next day to go back and try to make the deal. Same games again were played and another Manager came over and told us that no way would he even come close to that figure..Well, we left and decided that maybe the Juke was not an option. We currently have a Rogue and are happy as can be but we were not willing to pay more for a smaller car than what we currently pay. So we went to Smithtown Nissan and I will be picking up my FULLY LOADED, GPS and all JUKE this week and paying the $375 that we wanted to pay! There were no games played, no bs, it was right to the point! I won’t recommend anyone to go to Huntington Nissan ever!
First let me say that I bought many cars from the old Habberstad Nissan over the years, and I had nothing but great experiences. However, it is now owned by “Nissan of Huntington,” and it was the single worst car buying experience that I’ve ever had. They made false promises, lied to get me in the door, they were overly pushy, and they tried to change the terms of the deal twice, both times without telling me. If I didn’t read the paperwork and call them out on it, I would have been out thousands of dollars. I’ll never step foot in that place again. They are dishonest crooks.
This dealership needs to be stopped!! I just realized the moonroof they put in has no buttons to open it. I put a claim in with the Better Business Bureau I urge everyone to. I am out thousands of dollars
Their service is great until right after the sale is made. After agreeing to purchase the car, they botched up on promised delivery of the car – twice. There was no response to our numerous phone calls. Sales people on site were rude and unhelpful. Totally frustrated, we decided to cancel our order and we had to stop payment on our credit card to get our deposit back. We have heard horror stories about them from our friends as well.
I have been leasing Nissan’s since 1996 2 from Habberstad had great experiences, now they are owned by Nissan of Huntington They should be in jail!!! I can not express how badly I was robbed. They told me I was getting the top model and gave me a base model for more money
After agreeing upon a price for the vehicle the dealer made me fill out all the credit documents and proceeded to run my credit. My credit was approved, but the manager changed the price of the car. He said he was allowed to change the price. I was furious now that my credit score would go down. The salesperson responded, sue us. They made me sign all the papers, but they signed NOTHING.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
When we bought our minivan we paid for the DVD player so that our 2 small children could watch movies on long trips. The car is 3 years old and my children have NEVER watched a movie on the dvd player b/c it has been broken the entire time we’ve had it. Last summer we brought it in AGAIN to be fixed. It took the entire summer for them to eventually put in a new one. But, the new dvd player didn’t work when we went to use it. The dealership doesn’t return phone calls and you have to chase them around for an answer. The manager, Anthony keeps telling us he has it under control. I have never seen anyone in less control in my life. Zero proffessionalism and zero results. Meanwhile, the warranty is about to run out. Let them tell us it’s not covered! To this day, we still do not have a working dvd player in the car. I honestly do not know how these people stay in business. We would NEVER buy another car from them again!
Brought my car in for the check engine light being on and an inspection. My car was running perfectly at the time with no apparent problem. Was told that it wont pass inspection without the clearing the check engine light problem which I knew anyway. I get a call an hour later from ” Al ” in the service department who says ” Are you sitting down” ” The car needs engine coils and spark plugs to clear the check engine light. It also need a new radiator clamp which was in such bad rotted out shape and the light cover on the side of my car needs to be white not black to pass inspection. A total cost of $3000.00″. I changed the light cover myself which you can buy in any store and it passed inspection the year before and that has nothing to do with an inspection. the supposed radiator clamp had literally a dot of a rust mark on it. took my car out of there and “Al” was as rude and disrespectful as a person can be. Brought my car some where else they found dampness on the engine coils cleaned them light went off and got my inspection for a grand total of $110.00. I saved “$2,890.00”. Do you think “Al” was RIPPING ME OFF. YES. Do not use Habberstad Nissan service department.
A nightmare of an experience including being threatened by a lawsuit for not completing a purchase because he failed to meet a local dealers price.Left a deposit which he tried to keep. Both I and my son bought a new maxima. at smithtown nissan.
my significant other and i were in the service department for her altima lease, i currently had one as well. our leases werent due for another 4-5 months a piece, and we were looking at prospects for our next lease. our current leases were terrible in payments, as we had to roll in tons of “negative equity” into the payments. dan approached us, he was very nice, patient and willing to help us in every way. we test drove 4 different cars, consumed hours of his time, and he treated us like we were family. not only did he get our remaining payments waved, but gave us a brand new altima and murano with twice the equipment as the last ones, but at a significantly lower payment than we were paying. then he gave us both remote starts at no extra cost. ive never experienced such service when leasing a car. the finance manager wahid was just as accomidating. they both made the experience easy and pleasurable. i reccomend habberstad, dan, and wahid to anyone trying to lease or buy a nissan.
I am coming out of a lease that I was over miles on and I was first introduced to a used car in the showroom that I was “told” was a great price of $18,500 and that he would cover all expenses and overages when turning in the lease on my car which is selling at other dealers for $24,000 (great deal for them). I was thrown around to 3 different financial advisors with the first one telling me that he was the advisor and he says that I would be approved, after avoiding calls for days I was told now my file was sent next door, again same story of them doing NOTHING for 3 days I personally showed up only to find out that ok now it was transferred yet again back next door. The 3rd try with the third person Singh I have to admit was the only one who answered my calls and tried to get me approved. Now I got a handout from my family member to put down $15,000 cash….ok now he’s saying he can give me the car for $16,900 but will not pay for any overages on my lease which he originally agreed to….now he’s trying to make it look like he’s giving me a deal only to find out that the red 2005 Honda Red Pilot is advertised on the FRONT page of a magazine for $16k which is where I should have been in the first place and tells me if I don’t accept the offer as I’m standing there by the exit door he has someone who will buy it for $18,500 right now…be my guest go rip someone else off…do I dare call and see if its still available  what your guess that it still might be sitting there! What comes around goes around…I hope you get whats coming to you! :devil(
I brought my truck in because of a slip in the transmission. I was told that they were unable to find any problem. I also had a check engine light on , that was from a sensor in the gas tank. I was told that they could not fix the sensor , because there was too much gas in my tank ( was less than 1/2 full). I brought my truck to AMITY/MASSAPEQUA Nissan with in a week of going to Haberstad. They found a problem. I turns out that the coolant was getting into the auto tranny fluid … which turns the color of the tranny fluid. So if they checked my transmission, how did thery not see the color of the fluid was not right? They suck , i would never go back there , and i will tell anyone i know to go to nissan in amityville and go talk to vinny.
i had been searching to buy a nissan and was torn between a maxima or a honda and after my visit to habberstad i was completley turned off by nissans and ended up goin with the honda. the sales manger whose name was brendan was rude and had a disgusting attitude he treated his employees like dirt and was constantly yelling and cursing. the other manager who was a blonde looked like a a hooker with her 6 feet shoes, extremely tight clothing and tattoes, wearing heavy make up. they were both too busy smoking out front to care about selling my family a vehcile I TELL EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY!!!!!. the managers were trashy and just a BAD image for the store!
Went to multiple Nissan dealers on Long Island looking for the best deal on a Sentra. We were greeted by Mike T who was not only pleasant to deal with but was upfront and honest as well. He understood we were still in a research mode when we visited, answered every question we had to the best of his ability and even sent us home with the edmunds.com website to do pricing research. He also didn’t call us constantly or spam us with automated emails. He made one call to us a week or so after our visit to follow up.
When the time came to purchase a car we sent out offers for the vehicle and Mike came through for us. There were no games played by Habberstad at all. No shell games, no bait and switch, no avoiding us on pricing, no high pressure. This is the price of the car, this is the model/trim with VIN and Stock #, simple and easy.
There were also no fees added on to the price, like bogus prep fees or overpriced documentation fees that at one dealership we went to added up to over $500. We paid the agreed upon price plus sales tax and registry fees. We had the type of experience that everyone should have when purchasing a car.
I went there to do some preliminary research for my husband. Then fiqured I would come back. Not a chance. The pressure was put on me to leave a deposit to get the “special price” or else the deal was off. A supposed mananger name Jessica came over to convince me to leave money. I could not belive that this person that looked more like a streetwalker than a manager actually was a representative of the store. She had stilleto heels and black jeans that were so tight they advertised every crease and crevice. I found her to be appalling and her apperance down right disgusting. The rest of the sales staff looked like people from the unemployment line. I surely am not a snob but this place was definitely not for me or my family.
Spoke to a salesman about purchasing a new Nissan Murano. I knew availability was an issue from speaking to other dealerships. The salesman said he had the car I wanted in stock and ready to go. When I got there, we negotiated a price, which was a long drawn out experience itself. After negotiating, he tells me the car he said was in stock “just sold 5 minutes before you got here”. Told him I was upset but if he could locate me a vehicle, I would buy it from him at the negotiated price. He said that availability “would not be a problem” asked for two color choices and told me I would “definitely get either one”. I explained again that I knew availability would be an issue, and to just run a locate while I was there so that our time wouldnt be wasted. He refused. Gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave a deposit on a credit card and he said he would contact me in 2 days to let me know when I would have the vehicle. All without running a locate. 3 Days later he calls and tells me he cant get one and to give him another 3 days…..I do. 3 days later, no car…..asks me to wait another month. I tell him I want my deposit back, he says I need to come down to do it. I come down and go directly to the finance manager…..explain the situation and he says he will refund it but I must wait a week because “the accounting dept. only does refunds once a week”. Sure they do. They have no problem TAKING your money any day of the week, but refunds are only once a week.
This dealer is a sham. Do NOT give them the business….there are PLENTY of other dealerships around that actually want to sell a vehicle and not waste their customers time.
Upon returning my Nissan lease, I was told that the excess wear and use charges would amount to about $700 by Charlie (an employee of Nissan who I later found out is not an authorized Nissan inspector). I decided to lease another Nissan only to receive a bill two weeks later from Nissan Corpaoration for $2,100.00 for excess wear and use. Quite a difference from what was quoted and assured by Charlie and the salesman Wahid. Attempts to resolve the issue with Habberstad resulted in unreturned phone cals and emails, promises to look into things, referring to more unresponsive personnel at Nissan and finally to the general manager, Brendan Miller, who says”there’s not much I can do”. So, it looks like I am stuck paying. My advice “STAY AWAY”.
I have never seen a sales person with such a terrible attitude. When i was there 2 people called complaing about other sales people as well. i dont know how they are still in business.
Do NOT buy from Habberstad Nissan! I bought a 350z from them in 2006 with extended warranty (75k). My car has been burning oil like crazy since day one. I have receipts showing that I have to buy oil or get an oil change almost every 3-4 weeks. I took it to Nissan for a diagnostics which they charged me $97.50 + tax (even under warranty). Instead of properly checking the motor for burning oil, they tried to sell me a tune up for over $500!!!
