Jay was rude and unkind. I was shopping over Labor Day weekend, looking for a Hyundai to replace my old Suzuki. I wanted pricing on two different cars- the Tuscon and the Santa Fe, so I could weight my options. Jay DEMANDED that I decided on one of the cars before he would even give me pricing. When I explained my decision making process, he stomped out of the room like an angry toddler!
A short while later, the pricing worksheet in front of me, and Jay is yelling at me- “this is the price! this is the price!”, poking at the paper angrily. I surely don’t understand how he thought aggression is the key to winning over a new customer.
At no point did he or the other salesman ask what they can do to make the deal work for me. At no point did they ask what I want, instead, seemed to get upset when I stated what I needed in a new car, and what my financial expectations are. They will never get business from me.
Gettel Sarasota will never get my business.
Gettel Lakewood ranch is a completely different story. They are wonderful, professional, and reasonable. They are there for the customer, not just their own wallets.
I would recommend any dealership over Gettel. I was researching the exact car that I wanted. It was advertised on their site at a good price. I called on the car and the internet sales guy, Kevin Ross, told me that the advertised price requires the buyer to meet all conditions (must finance, must trade in, must be a previous Hyundai owner, must be military, etc.) I told them that I was willing to pay the price they listed and would give a deposit before I came down because I live 2+ hours away and could not commit to coming in that night or the next morning. The rep said that he had to have a rep call me on pricing, but he called me back himself in about 15 minutes to tell me “We have the makings of a deal” and took a deposit. I called back to let him know that I would be in that night to purchase the car and I asked what the total would be including tax, tag and dealer fees. When I asked this they told me that I needed to talk to a rep to get these totals. When the rep called back, he started by negotiating the price of the car. After transferring back to Kevin, he told me that he could have phrased it better than “We have the makings of a deal” but he would not honor that price. When I talked to the manager, he basically said they would not do the price, but they would give me a price they could do.
They are bait and switch and every other lack of ethics that give dealerships a bad name and why surveys say that people would rather go to the dentist than the dealership. Gettel is worse than an dentist I have ever been to.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND BE TREATED FAIRLY.
Best Car Buying Experience Ever PERIOD. Best Price as Promised, I traveled 100 miles after calling Johnathon and getting the best price I could find in a 100 mile radius. He was waiting for me and had the car ready, clean, gassed up, the windows were even tinted. I bought over 20 new vehicles in the past 5 years and never seen a dealership pre tint all of their car’s windows. Another savings of time and money!!!! Get Ready Johnathon, I will be buying all my cars from you in the future!!
“BUYER BEWARE” Bought a new Sonata at Gettel. Sales person lied about many things. They keep switching figures to confuse you all the time acting friendly.I would not recomend this Dealership to my worst enemy. STAY CLEAR of them or it is going to cost you dearly
