They took a MONTH to repair my car! I had to call numerous times to find out the status of my repair. Was not given an honest answer on why repair was taking so long. Was told they had so many cars come in because of the bad winter weather, some without heat and others with broken door handles. I asked why they were given priority over my vehicle and she said well they couldn’t get into their cars, so I said well I can’t drive mine! It took an email that went to the general manager to have my car take priority. So then after taking a month to get it fixed, the price was $200 more than my estimate. The estimate was $1,538 – pretty specific price. When the bill came to $1,766 and I complained, I was told the estimate didn’t include sales tax and 1 additional hour of labor was needed. After having my car a month, which I’m guessing was someone’s mistake as it was repaired asap after an email to general manager, I think they could have offered me a discount. When I questioned the bill being over $200 above the estimate, the service guy was very defensive that it was an “estimate” and not an exact amount that was quoted. Overall, very unhappy with this service department and especially the service writer, Danielle.
I have brought my car in 4 times in the last month because the check engine light keeps going on and the engine keeps misfiring. It shakes quite badly. They’ve told me to bring it in the day after i call and when I get there they say the don’t have time to look at it. When they finally do look at it, they say that yes it is misfiring but there’s nothing wrong so they simply turn the light off. The same day I get it back the check engine light goes on again. Obviously there is something wrong, but they will not fix it. I’ve had terrible service there for the last 2 years, just wish there was another relatively close VW dealership as it’s still under warranty.
My girlfriend shopped and bought a car at one of the f.x. caprara stores.. it was an 02 oldsmobile alero.. The day she got the car she noticed it was pulling to whatever direction that she last turned. She took it back to the dealership (we live 2 hours away!) a couple days later, and they said they fixed it. She got it back and there seamed to be nothing done with it, it still pulled. She took it to a shop up around here and they said the car deffinately has issues; it has bad strut mounts. So my girlfriend called back and set up another appointment to have it fixed, her mom drove the 2 hours early in the morning to get it serviced…well the part wouldn’t be able to get there until 4pm, several hours away…my girlfriend is in tears and her mom has a loaner vehicle coming home 2 hours away…It probably wont be fixed this time, in which case they will likely suffer a law suit… dont waste your time with these people and their junk
