BE PREPARED TO BE DISAPPOINTED (OR FLAT OUT LIED TO)I arrived with a written quote from them in one hand and money in the other hand only to be told that the WRITTEN price quote from them would not be honored because the manager who had authorized it was not in that day. But of course they would be more than happy to get me in my new car for $3000 OVER the price they had previously quoted. Needless to say, I turned and walked away…absolutley ridiculous. A written offer….a written offer on their business head…Don’t waste your time at this dealership!
Sales associate Mike O’Friel is terrific – honest, no pressure, very knowledgeable and very professional. Sales manager Robbie Allen is equally terrific. I would purchase anything from these guys and have complete peace of mind re. the vehicle and the price. I have been buying cars for over 40 years, in five states, and these guys are the best.
We purchased a new Honda vehicle and were sold a warranty that was not as described, so we were lied to. We had a manufactures defect on our vehicle and were never notified, then when we approached Honda about the issue, they would not stand behind it. The service department was dishonest and no calls were returned by management when promised. The bottom line is their word means nothing, they stand behind nothing, and take no responsibility. I guess when they say integrity trickles down from the top, that is the truth. There is no integrity modeled at this dealership. BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I would never recomend this dealership. They hidden the facts about car defects/damages. It took over 5 hours to close the deal. They hidden facts about the damage repair.
There finance department lack the customer serivice skills, and the dude was kept prussuring me to finance thrugh them. I politley said several “No no no… s”. I informed the finance guy I was preapproved by another lender. He kept saying to me why why….I was not financing throught them. They should learn to respect customer choice.
Than they delayed over 45 days my paperwork. I had call them at 45th day to find out where was my title was. A lady at the dealership said she was not sure why it was held up by their finance department.Although they have cashed my cashier check the same day.
Finally there were no greetings and no thanks for giving them over $32k business. I learned my lession the hard way. Please do your independent research and financing and do not fell into Ed Martin’ trap.
Overall an average car buying experience. Van was fairly priced. Everything went smooth. Ron noticed headrest and one seat cover was missing and included it in the sale. Next day we noticed it was missing the cargo net. Called Ron and said he could get one of those. He called back the next day and said that he could actually NOT get one, but that we could buy one at his price of $53. I can find it cheaper online. Dealership let $53 stand in the way of me having a terrific buying experience.
Would recommend shopping there. Just make sure that you go over EVERYTHING at least twice to make sure that everything is covered and noted. They won’t necessarily go above and beyond to make you happy once the purchase is done.
I’m sorry to hear about the experience above, but I was pleased with my experience at this dealership. Sounds like you should go with Mike instead of Joe if you took the Internet route. Having first gone to Penske Honda on the north side and being infuriated by their sales staff, I contacted Ed Martin Honda via the Internet. I was quoted $1,000 less than Penske (where I was told that my original quote was “the absolute lowest we can go”). I rated 3s for greeting and consideration of time because I had to wait a while to see Mike, but he was finishing up another sale, so I found it understandable.
I have never been treated as bad at a dealership as I was the day I came in and talked to Joe at ED Martin. He said that he has over 30 years of experience, well in my opinion, it is time to retire. I knew what I car that I wanted and asked him to take a look at my car for a trade in to see if we can get to my price range. He told me that with out my husband, it’s a waste of time. What he didn’t know is that my husband is finishing a Masters right now and I bring in the bulk of the money (for now). Joe was rude, condescending and mean. I went to Honda West (great people!) right afterwards, my husband came up later that night and we bought the car. In about six months we’ll need to buy a new car for my husband and we will not be buying from Ed Martin. I have told about 20 people so far about my experience and I hope that this review will reach more people. BEWARE!!!
