Took my Mercury Villager here to get repaired. Was promised they would “check everything out” by there crack service manager, Steve Fine. Was told timing belt & water pump needed replacement but they found no other problem. Paid them $1,100 to repair. Next day service engine light went on and I returned it. Master meechanic Steve Fine said “nothing to worry about, it’s an emissions sensor”. For the next two weeks it kept shuting off while driving. Took it back to Genius Steve, after 2 days told us he It was the distributor but “they weren’t sure”. I asked him why they didn’t find problem when it was brought in originally and he became indignant and said he was doing me a favor because he had his guys working on it for seven hours to find problem and was only charging $110. I told him he shouldn’t be charging anything as I already paid a diagnostic fee and they said it was fine. Also told him he’s got some pretty horrible mechanics if they took turns looking at the car for seven hours and still couldn’t figure it out. Dimwit Steve then started cussin’ and slamming stuff and told us to leave and not to come back. This is a place they clearly makes a healthy profit ripping off senior citizens. Their mechanics are incompetent and their service manager Steve Fine is rude, unprofessional and a thief in a shirt and tie. Do yourself a favor and don’t take your car there for ANY work unless it’s just putting air in your tires, and they might screw that up too!
High pressure, sleazy and shifty. Kind of place that gives car salesmen a bad name. Avoid this trap at all costs.
This is a true story.
After Vince Butera, the service manager, totaled my Navigator while joy riding in a rented mustang inside the service building, I was threatened, told that if I caused trouble I would be “blackballed at 15,000 Ford/Lincoln dealerships” worldwide. I was lied to, and after four weeks of fighting an uphill battle with unresponsive people, I was sold a sub-standard replacement vehicle and basically told to get lost. The sales management personnel was despicable and treated me with the utmost disdain. All mighty Ed Howard himself ignored me while I was in the dealership, never had the courage, the courtesy or the social grace of even sending me an apology. All I wanted was for them to make it right. I could use some help in attempting to force them to do the right thing, any suggestions?
This is the worst dealership with which I ever dealt.
You purchased a vehicle AFTER they totaled yours?? You never called the police when you discovered they had damaged your vehicle? No Police report? All of these actions would have made legal action MUCH easier.
