DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING A CAR FROM EUROPEAN SELECT MOTORS.
I brought a car from European Select Motors that turned out to be a total lemon. I was told the car has a new transmission put in and there was sign that said “Like New”. After purchasing European Select Motors I took it to the Manufacturer’s Dealer and was told that I need a new transmission along with a list of other problems from leaking gaskets to a torn strut support mount. I drove this car less than 300 miles, most of it was from driving it back and forth to the dealer. When I brought it back to European Select Motors they did not address any of the issues other than saying we will “help you” but the car has been there for almost three weeks. Most of the time the manager won’t come to the phone when I call nor does he return calls. When I check further on line about European Select Motors there are numerous complaints against them of a similar nature. This is not an isolated incident! You can find similar negative reviews on Yelp, Yahoo and Google or I can forward these links to you upon request.
I am presently filing a compliant against European Select Motors with the Attorney General Office and the DMV for selling unsafe vehicles, practicing deceptive sale tactics and unresponsive to customers.
I would not recommend anyone to buy cars there. On their own website, and even on other sites (ie. autotrader) they advertise their cars as literally “perfectly maintained”, and “just serviced”. They sell all their cars “as is”. Stupid enough I trusted their advertisement, haven’t had the car checked by a mechanic before, and had problems since the first week!!! Took the car back multiple times, because they said they are going to fix it, but problems came back every week! Oh, and Richard, the guy who I first talked to and to talked me into that car – I have never seen him again since I purchased it. Called him a couple of times, but he always referred me to somebody else.
Finally had the car checked by a mechanic, and he told me he would NOT repair or put ANY money in that car, since it is soo broken (Great mechanic by the way: Craig Johnson –> he will NOT try to cheat you or just get money out of you!!! Strongly recommend him!!!)
When I bought it, they told me, everything is fine! Then they offered me to change the car for a newer one, if I pay $2000 extra. Same here: car was (or still is) advertised as “perfect”, this time I had the car checked by ANOTHER mechanic, and he also told me not to buy it, because too many things are wrong with it!
“As is” unfortunately, I learned my lesson, but I would strongly recommend NOT to buy a car there!!!
