This happened at the city auto in Memphis, TN. Bought a Tahoe with 80k miles on it. Shortly after making the FIRST payment the engine gave out out me. I was out of townso I carried it to a Chevy dealer. The diagnosed it as a collapsed lifter. After getting it back home I contacted City Auto and they said they’d like to get it to their shop to have a look, and that they would help me out. Their version of helping me out was a diagnoses as needing a replacement engine for the tune of $4,600 dollars. I informed them that it was diagnosed as a collapsed lifter by a Chevy dealer. My other option… 36 hour engine rebuild (36 x around $100 for shop time + parts). I feel really “taken care of”. So needless to say this was my first and last time buying a car from them.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY NOR M&M AUTO GROUP. THEY CHANGED THEIR NAME FROM CITY AUTO GROUP TO M&M SO DO NO BUY
This dealership took advantage of me because I am a young, single female. They sold me a salvage/total loss vehicle at a high price. Did not tell me about history of the car. Very dishonest. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!!!!
Bought a vehicle from here to find out a day later that the car had been wrecked twice, one of which totaled the car and had a salvage title on it. It was a completely rebuilt car. We drove two hours each way to return the car and got our money back. Selling a car with a salvage title without first informing the buyer is completely illegal. We were never informed of any of this! Always check the vin # before buying a car. I’m young and this was a life lesson I learned the hard way.
The same thing happened to me!!! They are very dishonest! How did you get them to give you your money back?
