I feel for the salesperson who is knowledgeable and friendly but works for an organization that seems to work on the assumption that making a customer wait is a good tactic.
I wanted to buy a Passat and went to see what was available. Here is a summary.
“Can I see the Passats”? Sure let’s go and find one!
After walking around in 98 degree heat, we found one and I asked where were the rest. “Oh they are all over. What color do you prefer?
I am not sure. Can I see them all together? Well they are kind of all over. So after a ten minute walk around the lot I settled for a Passat for a test drive. Well more waiting… car has no gas. Get gas. More waiting… no tag for a test drive.
After another ten minutes I finally took a test drive and was impressed with salesperson knowledge and the quality of the Passat. I am not going to name him because he was by far one of the best salespeople I have encountered recently and I don’t want him to have to explain himself to the bad management.
So I am now a happy owner of a Passat purchased at Colonial VW (thanks Dave) a few miles away. Take a tip Langhorne. All the Passats were together and it made it very very easy to choose the Passat I wanted.
I went into Volkswagen of Langhorne in search of a used jetta with good mileage and condition. Not only did I get the deal of a lifetime on a 2009 model but I also made a “friend”. The people there actually care about how you are feeling about a deal, they’re willing to negotiate and treat you like a real customer.
I went to this dealership to purchase a used Toyota FJ Cruiser. On my first visit there they would not negotiate on the price or my trade in. 3 days later I was on line looking at cars and they had dropped the price by a thousand dollars. Irritated I called and spoke with Mike Bowers and expressed my complaints. He took my info and my numbers…I agreed to increase my down payment and increase my per month payment if they would give me something towards my trade in. He said he would crunch some numbers and get back to me in 45 minutes. 2 hours later I had to call them back but when I did he agreed to my terms and said I could come down the next day and sign the paperwork. When I got down there…I was now to deal with Max Colish, who I saw on my first trip down. Then the run around began. After sitting for 45 minutes waiting for them to verify all the paperwork, Max comes back with a payment I had already denied or I was going to have to put down nearly twice what was agreed upon and they were not giving me anything for my trade in. I believe they were trying to get me back down there thinking I would not leave with out the car. Did I mention I drove 114 miles one way to look at this car. Needless to say I left extremely angry, dismayed and without a new car. Do not go there is you wish to keep your sanity…they are very dishonest!!
