My husband and I purchased TWO vehicles for our teenage children last week. We went in to it knowing these were lower priced vehicles ($3000 & $4000) that would have at least some “minor” issues to contend with. However, because we were driving in on a Sunday and unable to have a mechanic check them out first, we sort of took them on “faith” that they were decent vehicles. We asked the salesman what would happen if we found something major after we returned home and he said “We could work something out. I mean, I’m not required to do anything, but I guess you guys just kind of have to trust me that I would help you.” So, we did just that. We drove 2 1/2 hours home and took them to be inspected within 3 days. Turns out, one of the vehicles tie rods and ball joints are shot (along with back brakes going out and several other small things), which presents a major safety concern and a $700 repair. The entire repair bill we were presented with was over $1200. We don’t exactly want our daughter driving down the road and getting in an accident. Brandon basically blew it off and said they weren’t aware of it before we left and he wasn’t willing to even help with the cost of the repair. He gave his “best option” as us driving it back and having his service guys repair it for $160-$200. Seems to me, after someone purchases not one, but TWO vehicles, spending $7000 (and didn’t even negotiate the price lower than asking) they might be able to cover $200 worth of repairs as a “customer service” option. Not the case here. BEWARE!! They’re friendly up front, but once “The deal is done”, as Brandon put it and he puts the cash you brought in in his pocket right in front of you, you’re on your own!
