*******DON WHITES CHEATED THIS MARINE WARVET********
I unfortunately did business with Don Whites notlong ago. What started out to be agreat experience completely flipped flopped on me. Basically when I decided it was time for a new vehicle Istarted doing research on the new Dodge Rams. On my search Don Whites popped up on the web and it lookedlike they were running some decent deals so I got in contact with them. They were really nice and said thatthey would drive on down to me the next day to test drive (I live about 2hrsaway). I was really excited aboutthe new truck so I went to a local dealership and test drove on of theres thatwas sticker priced @ $45,575, which was about 9,000 over what I could affordbut it was just a test drive. Sothe next day one of Don Whites dealers drove down what they had to offer but itwas far too little for what I was looking for and sure enough the localdealership here said that they could get me in the truck I drove for $36,000out the door. I was shocked andwas going to take the deal but the stupid nice guy in me called up Don Whitesand told them the deal I was offered and said “Hey this is an amazing dealso if you can MATCH OR BEAT it I will still do business with you guys fordriving the first one down”. The manager said “ok, give me an hour or two and I will get back toyou”. Sure enough he calledabout two hours later and said “we got your truck, its in New York and itsjust missing two things, but we need you to come up here and fill out the paperwork before we get it”. So Iheaded up there and all kinds of different employees approached me and OVER andOVER again talked about how good there service is and how they are ranked #1 onthis website for customer service, bla bla. Sadly I bought into all the talk. The first big issue was that I was told I was getting thetruck for 36,000 out the door and of course that changed once I had got thereand it became 38,500 I was a bit upset but the ole lady said it go ahead. I had to wait about a week before thetruck was delivered to me (I could have had the other truck from PrinceFredrick that same day). The truckwas delivered and the two Don White employees took off within 2-3 mins. There was no paper work to be signedthat the truck was delivered “satisfactory, what I wanted ect, ect…) ButI was told there would be and that I could decline the truck if it wasn’t whatI wanted. When the truck showed the tail gate was down….(they said to leaveit down cause of the spray in liner). It was actually cause there was a nice thick 7-8 inch scratch across thebumper (painted bumper). Alongwith that THE TRUCK WAS MISSING over $4,300 dollars in options. Of course I called and one dealer saidhis boss was out till Monday, but for me not to worry, he would call and thatthey would make it right. Themanager Mike never did get a hold of me, instead I had to pursue him. After arguing back and forth and eachperson I had to deal with pointing fingers at the other, (lots of “well hedidn’t tell me that”) and each time me calling him cause he would not callme; he said that I could trade in the truck I bought from them for the truckthat I wanted but I would have to take the hit on the truck that HE sold me (mind you this is days later ). That hit was gonna work out to be another $3500 -4000ish dollars and Iwas already at the most I could afford. I then asked to speak with the owners son and of course that call nevercame. I have heard that the ownersare good people but after some research one of DON WHITES employees told methat its all ran by the management and has gone down hill since Mike was put incharge. This leads me to believethat the manager never told the owner.
So basically I chose to do business with Don Whitesand I WAS PUNISHED FOR DOING SO.
The manager kept trying to tell me that I goteverything I asked for and then saying that no one told him about theoptions. The fact is the manageris the guy I told about all the options and the sticker price of 45,575 and thetruck that was delivered to me had a sticker price of 41,000 ( the stickersfrom the manufacturer) so there is no way that he did not know he was sellingme a vehicle that was missing over 4,000 in options. The truck they sold me doesn’t even have a class 3 tow hitchand was the biggest reason for me to own a truck. The manager had no argument and no intensions of making thesituation right and making a continuing future customer. As well as the owner who never botheredcalling.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE EVEN IF ITS OUT OF YOUR WAY.
DON’T BUY INTO ALL THE POSITIVE COMMENTS ON HERE ASTHEY TRY TO PUSH IT ON ALL THERE CUSTOMERS that they think are happycustomers….They tried pushing this on me and said they were going to send mea link in my email and of course after I made my call they never sent it, Ifound it out on my own!
