At my first service visit for my new Subaru they claimed that Subaru was recommending oil changes every 3,500 miles due to New England’s “harsh climate” but could not back up the claim with a service bulletin. Owners Manual states oil changes every 7,500. Total B.S. Took my maintenance business elsewhere but just started having battery issues. Needed two jump starts in one day. As it was under warranty I brought it back to Reilly’s. After two hours they told me that they had determined the battery was fried but that it was so fried that they could not get a trouble code out of it with their computer and because they couldn’t get a failure code, Subaru would not cover replacing it. They said I could bring it back next week and they could try again but after multiple jump starts that was simply not a realistic option. Totally ridiculous.
