Salesperson had no knowledge of vehicle I was interested in and went to sales manager for answers which tried my patience. When ready to make a deal on a desired model, they sent the wrong vehicle to service for inspection and prep and I had to alert them. They had no idea what they were doing as they were very hasty to close a deal. In addition, the price quoted me changed to a higher price by $60 more a month when I was ready to sign. I was informed by the credit agencies the following day that this dealership ran my credit no less than 5 times to drive the price up. I did not purchase or lease from them as they are crooks and scam artists.
I can tell u that i HATE my car… I have had nothing but problems… Everytime i bring in my car there is something else wrong with it… When i told them there was something wrong they told me that there was nothing.. I have so far gone through a radio/speaker, tranny, axles, and head gaskets.. And now i brought it home today and the front end makes noise.. I just wish they would take my car back and let me walk away from it… I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN!!!!!!!!
Wonderful dealership! Best one I have been to! There was absolutely no pressure into buying a car. I came in and told them what I wanted and what I could afford monthly and they worked with me. Carl is absolutely amazing. I literally came in the dealership, picked out my car, did some paperwork and was out of there driving my car home within a few hours! I love my nissan maxima! Thanks to Carl and all of legend nissan for such a wonderful experience!
I was very impressed with the way I was treated and the service provided. I was able to test drive a number of vehicles before I decided on the one that was right for me. I highly recommend Elijah as an honest and straightforward salesman.
Paul Leonard was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their cars. He was a low key salesman which was very refreshing. He was patient and worked the lease terms in a variety of ways to be very competitive with the price and facilitated taking my current car (and lease) off my hands in order to get me in a new Maxima.
All in all one of the best experiences I have had leasing a car.
I was referred to Legend Nissan by Costco over two years ago. I am now on my second lease and have been very satisfied with the entire sales staff. I was comfortable and never pressured. When I decided to lease the Altima, it was made ready the same day. The service department provided service with no hassle on my previous Altima. I would recommend this dealership and will have no problem returning for another car.
Pleasant, no pressure, leasing experience.
Went to see a used car after seeing it advertised on cars.com. Phoned ahead first to insure the price was correct and I was told it was. After I saw and test drove the car and was willing to purchase:- told the advertised price was an error by a third party it was not $4,000 more. Classic bait and switch, what a waste of time and gas, avoid this dealership at all costs.
This was a great place to buy a car. Salesman Stephen Ciattei was great, didn’t feel pressured. They were willing to negotiate to meet my desires. Overall great experience. Thanks Stephen!!
I had a bad experience with another nissan dealer and I went in with alot of apprehension. Larry was very nice and professional he did not hassel me or tell me I had to make up my mind right away. He explained everything to me and told me exactly what the final price would be. I was very happy with Larry Sincerely Lois
John Rohdes provided excellent service. He answered all my questions and did not pressure me. I asked him how much a month it would cost to purchase the vehicle I was returning on my lease and he did the math. He explained the monthly charges on a new lease which were in my price range and I agreed to a new lease. Bob Culotta
As a loyal customer of Smithtown Nissan…and after Smithtown playing their “numbers game”, I contacted Legend Nissan. I spoke with Glenn on the phone and explained to him exactly what I was looking to lease. Glenn said that he would look into his stock and work out the monthly lease. Ten minutes later, Glenn called me back…told me that they have the car I wanted in stock and gave me the monthly lease payment I was looking for. Joe, the salesman, was great also. He prepared the paperwork, did a walk through with the car, and off we went….with a new 2011 Nissan Altima. We were treated very professionally!!!

Ty was very informative. Low key and very helpful.
It helps when you know what you want to spent.
Very professional establishment
Johnnie Rhodes is an awesome person to deal with! Cool, calm, friendly, comforting. No high-pressure tactics at all. I have never seen such a level of professionalism, courtesy, knowledge and patience! Johnnie took care of everything–all the paperwork, the plates, the registration–and after about 3 hours or so, I left with my wonderful new 2011 Sentra. Johnnie took the time to show me how every button and gadget in the car worked. No car dealership has ever done that for me in the past. I will never forget that. Johnnie coordinated all the leasing paperwork with the finance person (and he was also very professional and patient and explained everything clearly and to my satisfaction). I will recommend Johnnie and Legend Nissan to anyone who will listen to me.In fact, I have already done so because my neighbors and people at work have asked me which dealer I went to! It was a very comforting experience and I will never forget it. And, I absolutely love my new Sentra! I just love it!
4yh car purchased at Legend Nissan in Syosset and Johnnie Rhodes. I highly recommend going to see Johnnie. He is a class act. He is informative, low pressure, and creates a classy experience. The dealership also is a smooth transaction. They do what they say they are going to do, no smoke and mirrors. I 100 % recommend!
The experience was great from the beginning until this day…
Legend has renewed my faith in the car buying experience. They matched and beat the competions price. Did not pressure us to purchase that day. Very knowledgable and courteous staff. A pleasurte to deal with.
A special thanks to Mike Davidson and Glenn Christian, who were terrific.
Johnnie Rhodes is a pleasure to work with. He knows his stuff, he’s polite and low-key, and he wants to make things work. This is my second lease through Johnnie, and his professionalism three years ago is what brought me back to Legend Nissan again.
Not only do I LOVE my new Maxima, I also had a very smooth and easy leasing process at the dearlership. My salesperson, Johnnie Rhodes , was cheerful, informal, treated me respectfully, and made me feel like family. Manager Glenn Christensen was also very helpful and exceeded my car leasing expectations.
This is my 3rd consecutive Nissan lease – loyalty pays off! 🙂
The people at Legend were great to do business with. No hassles, had the car I wanted, they made me feel comfortable, and I was in and out with the car the same day. The owners run a good place and I’d reccommend my friends to go there.:)
Our son recently graduated from college and was looking for his first car. After weeks of a very frustrating search, my wife checked out a link on the Costco website about auto purchasing. We were directed to Legend Nissan and our son found several cars he wanted to see.
From our first steps in the door to the final drive home we were treated with professional courtesy by everyone at the dealership. Our salesperson, Larry Velasquez took the time to show every car our son wanted to look at. His choice was a 2009 Nissan Versa. Larry told us the original price and the Costco member price, explaining everything in the process. When we picked the car up,
the Finance Manager explained all options to us and showed us the best way to finance our purchase.
Our experience with Legend Nissan was exceptionally pleasurable. Larry and the entire staff there made us feel very comfortable throughout our visit. Our son left Legend with a huge smile on his face and after driving the car for a week, he knows he made the right decision.
Nice Place, Nice People, would definately reccomend them
I went to 2 other Nissan dealerships and the experience was horrific. Toyota was worse. A friend reccommended Legend in Syosset. They’re a COSTCO dealer so I figured they probably would be good to deal with and they were. I met Glenn the manager, very nice guy, made me and wife feel comfortable.
We bought the car, delivery went smooth, the people who finalized the transaction were helpful and away we went.
Just to sum my experience at this dealership. I will tell you not to go to this dealership if you don’t want be treated like sh!t. Come on. You’re paying a lot of money for a car, and do you want to be treated like garbage?
I’ve been to many many dealerships and I have never seen a dealership like this. The service and the managers are a total scam. NO JOKE. When I was making the deal some other customer came in complaining about their bill not pricing up equal. So im thinking, maybe the customers are stupid or something. But I should have taken that sign as “LEAVE NOW WHEN YOU CAN”
There is a sign in front when you walk in to the dealership that says “All deposits are refundable.” OK. My plan was to look around for cars and different dealerships, but the salesperson “Kevin” was OVER PRESSURING me to make a deposit and that the the deposit is refundable.
I made a deposit of $500 and even after a month later I can’t get my money back. I’ve called once a day for thirty days, and they keep telling me the same excuse “the money is deposited and it’ll take a few days to show up” I’m thinking WTF. These scammers are lying cold heartedly. Oh yeah, and their attitude was a total sh!t. Acting like I was the one who took their $500 and wasn’t returning.
I went to the dealersihp in person to talk to KEVIN because everyone at the dealership was ignoring my phone calls and messages. But when I went to the dealership to talk to the owner or service manager. They were the same. They were scammers. They do not want to service you ,but to take your money.
I am still trying to get the $500 back even till now. But through my bank. Thank god I did a credit card trasaction. If i gave them cash I would not recieve anything.
I warn you. NONONONONONONONO. The building is a garbage house by the way. YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY.
This place epitomizes “sleazy” car dealers everywhere. Not only do they treat you like they are doing you a favor, but if you question their prices/policies etc., you will be threatened by the little man himself: NICK WALANKI. He thinks he is the “Don” of Legend Nissan and maybe he is. Don’t bother threatening with calling corporate, he “Doesn’t care” because he owns the “Franchise”. Yup, best to avoid this place at all costs.
I rated my experience with the dealership about a 5.
Not only is the showroom a dump (it was raining in the showroom! onto the roof a new nissan z!), but the dealers here engage in conniving tactics to get their hands on your money. They never signed the proposed purchase order bearing some of the lease terms we agreed to and promised that we would get our deposit back if we did not accept delivery of the car or the lease agreement (which they could not show us b/c it had to be “drawn up”). We never did see the car when it did come in, despite the fact that we arrived at the showroom at the request of our salesman hoping to review the lease agreement and take delivery of the car because neither the salesman NOR a manager was present who could help us. When we finally received a copy of the lease agreement it contained new terms that did not mirror the proposed transaction and drastically modified the lease terms we had agreed upon. I requested a refund and have yet to hear back from a manager or the salesman!!
Don’t give them the opportunity to take your hard-earned money!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!
Terrible and awful experience purchasing a used car from this dealer. The worst service I have ever received. I knew something was going wrong when they told me the truck would be ready in an hour and it took 3 with my 8 months pregnant wife with me. The general manager acts like he’s the “Don” of sleezy car dealers and the rookie that sold me my truck never should have gotten my business. This is the punishment I deserve for using a bunch of sketchy strangers by trying to help out a young guy. Prior to this review I left a message with the general manager “Nick” and never received a call back. If you like to be appreciated as a customer, do not use Legend Nissan of Syosset.
Have you thought about submitting a complaint with the BBB or the ny attorney general’s office?
I went in for a lease, they talked me out of it stating that the Altima 2.5 coupe with the premium package would cost me about 500 a month
They talked me into a 2008 fully loaded 3.5 SE coupe, and then as I was putting a deposit down on the car lied to me and told me a 17 year old girl already had a deposit on it “we’re so sorry” but if you want you can leave a deposit to and that way if it doesn’t work the car is yours… then Tuesday rolls around the day I was supposed to get a phone call letting me know what happened, they never called so I called myself and found out “the car was sold” its presidents week they just realized they could get more money for it and decided to hold off to see if they did.. a 17 year old cannot legally put money down on a car
I was also promised that they would do their best find find me something comparable and they didn’t.
They are crooks and liars:(
BEWARE
I was there for 4 hours being treated like garbage waiting around for a salesman to help me they bounced me around and then screwed me..
it was an absolute horror story do not go there!
Beware of this place. Horrific approach to customer relationships and service department is nothing more than a typical chop shop. Brought in a 2001 pathfinder for service (this car has cost most than it’s book value in service), was willing to pay the premium at the dealership to ensure a quality job was done (big mistake). Was quoted 1.5-2 hours for simple job – brakes, oil change and tire rotation, ended up sitting and waiting for 5 hours. Was charged for four hours of labor and was told that “their most meticulous mechanic” had been working on the engine. Was told that they had taken the car on a test drive to ensure things were in working order, even though there is a one way entry/exit and never saw the car leave. (Finally) left the shop and realized that A/C was no longer working. Brought in vehicle next day, asked them to fix the A/C that their meticulous mechanic clearly screwed up. Service manager was one of the sloppiest, most ignorant people I have ever encountered in a customer service role, whose only reply to my problem was “I need to get paid”. He assumed I was out for a freebie (i suppose this is typical for a con artist – they assume everyone is out to con them as well). Eventually went to manager of the dealership, who told me that the A/C was an “unrelated” issue and there was nothing they could no. Nice racket they have going here, sell you a car with chronic problems and then take advantage of you when servicing it.
Signed purchase agreement, and then they jerked me around for weeks, and finally backed out of deal saying they couldn’t find the car…but could get me something similar for a different price!!! All the while, they had my deposit.
We has the SAME exact thing happen! They told us the car wasn’t available and that the lease agreement disclosing the full terms of the agreement has to be drawn up. They never signed the receipt for our deposit which contained the general terms of the proposed deal but orally agreed that our “good faith” deposit was refundable if we did not accept delivery of the car or the lease agreement bearing the fully disclosed terms (i.e. money factor, residual value, overage penalties, warranty info.). When we finally got a copy of the lease agreement, the terms were radically different. Shockingly, the car would have a residual value of 64% and yet we would be paying for more than half of its value!! Needless to say, this was NOT the deal that had been proposed.
If you respect the value of your hard-earned money, do not go to Legend Nissan and give away to these shisty, minute salesmen looking to make a fast buck at your expense. 😡 STAY AWAY!!!!
