Brought vehicle with same electrical issues (No Transmission Gear indicator light on dash, non-functioning cruise control, abnormal acceleration with excessive noise) as 16 months ago (where engine harness wire was spliced).
John-Service Manager insisted that I would have to have the engine wire harness replace with a new harness to the tune of $1,000 (with labor, a total of approximately $1,400). But after much effort on my part, John discounted the harness part down to $850 and $150 was discounted off the labor fee.
After the new harness was installed, the mechanic Fred (who did my original work 16 months ago), informed me that I would hear some brake noise, but I figured it would be minimal, as I had the front brake pads and rotors worked on a couple of months ago (in mid-Jan. by someone else who was reputable-JR Air/Heat Auto Repair in Sanford on 27th Street). But mind you, there was NO brake noise present when I brought my car to Bill Ray for this harness repair!
I drove from the dealership and immediately heard a loud grinding brake noise, and called John to inquire why this loud brake noise was present and he stated that I should bring the car in a few days later to investigate it.
The good news was that the transmission gear light indicator and cruise control issues were resolved for a few days, but suddenly reappeared again on a Friday evening!
Upon returning to Bill Ray the following Monday, the mechanic Fred worked on the car for 3 days and informed me that the ABS Control Module would have to be replaced to the tune of $2,000 for the module part. He stated that the original issues were absent only when the ABS system was not connected, which would be a real safety risk on my part for my family!
I was also informed that I would be responsible for a $95 diagnostic fee which prompted me to call Mike, Bill Ray’s General Manager to tell him I had no intention of paying that fee, as a previous diagnostic fee was charged already. This GM told me that he would investigate this situation with John, the service manager and Fred, the mechanic, and call me back with info.
Mike, the GM never called me back and upon calling John, he told me that I could pick up my vehicle with no diagnostic fee being incurred, but my brake noise still present (since the ABS was now connected).
In the meantime, I contacted Customer Relations at Nissan t complain about the situation with this repair and the rep told me she would contact the dealership (John, the service manager). In fact, I called this rep several times during that 10 day period of the repair).
Mike, the GM of Bill Ray Nissan NEVER called me back at any time during the 10 days of repair, as I always had to call him or John, the service manager. So, I picked up my car and drove off with the loud ABS brake noise present.
So, as one can see, it seems Bill Ray Nissan wishes to push the sale of very expensive car parts, instead of really trying to solve the issues with a more reasonable solution.
One should be very careful to get 2nd opinions as several reputable mechanics including an auto electrical systems expert with 35 years of experience told me that this wire harness should probably NOT have been repaired at all!
This recent experience has convinced me to NEVER go back to Bill Ray Nissan for any car repairs NOR for any future purchases of Nissan vehicles!

I am currently in a similar situation. Bill Ray Nissan service department is as dishonest as they come. My car is still not drivable and Nissan corporation does nothing to help out their customers. It is a sad state of affairs when u can’t get your car fixed at the dealership where u purchased it without getting ripped off. I would hope that the public becomes aware of this issue and buys and services their cars elsewhere.I am sure there are many more people out there who have had this experience at Bill Ray Nissan and I encourage you to take action!
