I purchased a pre-owned, 2017 Nissan Rogue w/ family package from Coast Nissan in June 2020. The family package features a third-row seat that doesn’t allow room for a spare tire. The manufacturer sells this vehicle with run-flat tires. However, Coast Nissan sold me this vehicle without run flats. You can imagine the trouble this might cause the vehicle owner. At purchase, I didn’t even think to check the tires to confirm that they were run-flats because I assumed no certified Nissan dealership would be so unethical as to sell me a vehicle with no run-flats and no spare. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I’m wondering if it was even legal for them to sell the vehicle to me in this condition. For that reason, I don’t consider Coast Nissan to be a trustworthy business and I cannot recommend them. Thx.
My car had been diagnosed with needing a new turbo and I wanted a second opinion so I called the dealership where I purchased the car two years ago. Coast BMW in SLO… they said to bring the car in, pay $165 to have it diagnosed and if it turns out to be the same problem that they will fix it for 10-15% less than the estimate I was holding in my hand. After 3 days of “diagnosing” my car it turns out it needs a new turbo. But instead of $3000 it will be $5000 to repair. I understand the dealer has increased costs than the independent shop, but the manager of the service department Johnny assured me he would take care of me and give me 10-15% off the $3000 estimate, I just needed to bring the car in. When I went to pick the car up today after being told it would be $5000, I spoke to the General Manager Greg Santos. He explained to me that many times some one brings in the car and it was misdiagnosed and they end up doing a “lesser” repair. But that they would never be able to beat the price of an independent shop. He understood that Johnny had promised me a discount off the $3000 but said there would be no way that they could do that. Bottom line- they lie to you and say they will save you money if it is the same diagnosis all for you to bring your car there. They are deceitful in their sales practices and the management fully understands that they are using dishonest tactics in hopes of you having a misdiagnosis. Moral of the story- when people tell you- oh god don’t take it to the dealer- they are correct! And if the dealer is Coast BMW- watch out- they are really practicing some desperate sales tactics. I will never buy another car from that dealer and I hope that if you are considering a car purchase or repair you will learn from my error in judgement.
These guys are either stupid or unethical. They charged me for an oxygen sensor at $300+ when it turned out to be loose gas cap. They tried to pressure me to buy a new car when my BMW was still running fine. These guys will lie to you with a straight face… buyer beware!
Wish I had nice things to say about this dealership, unfortunately I dont. Sales manager was polite up til the minute my check cleared, then was extremely rude and condescending when my paid in full vehicle developed problems that were supposedly covered under warranty. They came up with nearly every excuse as to why they would not fix my car.
I honestly could not recommend this dealer at all. there are tons of other ethical businesses out there who would love to go to work for you.
Every time I’ve been to the dealership I see the same sales persons. Not like other dealers that are constantly getting new sales persons. The dealership is very clean, and the people are friendly. I have had other vehicles serviced there as well. The service department is friendly and ready to help. Great staff, Great Products, Great Price. I couldn’t ask for anything more. It was a pleasure to work with the sales people no pressure, and gave me a great trade value. https://cardealercheck.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif
