I purchased this vehicle on January 14th, it stalled on me the next week, found out the body control module had to be replaced – they were good to give me a loaner however had my car for 3 weeks just got it back on Feb. 10 and was back in the shop on Feb. 13 coz engine light came on. I have another loaner, however when is enough enough and I request a different vehicle, can anyone advise me please.
I recently purchased a new Honda Civic through Middletown Honda, and I can honestly say that it raised the bar in my mind about what a car dealer experience could be.
Keegan Sybesma took care of me from start to finish (and beyond) with professionalism, courtesy, respect, and kindness.
All my questions were answered thoroughly and enthusiastically.
Every step of the process was taken care of in a pleasant and timely manner.
I’ve been to other dealers in the past, and thought that the experiences I’d had were status quo for all dealers.
But Keegan and the rest of the great people at Middletown treated me better than I ever could have imagined possible.
Middletown Honda has this customer for life.
Went to Middletown Honda to look at a Ridgeline. We were greeted by Ed Folkl, said we should look around and he would answer any questions. No pressure. Make us a great deal. A very enjoyable buying experience.
After car shopping for a week, all over PA, and NJ, and all different makes and models, my family and I started looking at Hondas, basically because consumer reports gave such high ratings, what a pleasant experience we had with Andy Helfman, our salesman, early on a Sat morning, he listened to what we were looking for, no pressure at all, we decided to purchase a used certified civic. Everything went smoothly in the transaction, and we didn’t get a run around, and everything we asked for was taken seriously and followed through, the way it should be when making such a big purchase!. We finally found the perfect car for our needs, I would recommend Middltown Honda, the sevice we received was the best! Thanks 🙂
If you’re purchasing a vehicle, I definitely recommend this dealership and make sure you ask for salesman Scott Ladrick. I arrived at the dealership and asked to test drive 2 different models. I was undecided on the model or whether I wanted a new or used vehicle. Scott was very knowledgeable about both vehicles. After I drove them he helped decide which would be best for me based on my driving needs and budget. I never felt pressured, and the price I was given included everything, no hidden costs. I did shop other dealers, but I found Scott & Middletown Honda to be the most friendly, professional & knowledgeable. I purchased a certified pre-owned Civic and love my car. 🙂
Internet sales experience was great; it was completely different from the overall dealership experience I had in prior visits.
I had visited Middletown Honda a few times and had decided not to go there again. The floor salespeople had been friendly but there was a feeling that they really didn’t care whether you bought from them or not! The internet quote I requested from Middletown was originally meant to be used as a negotiation number to use at another dealership–I never expected to be so impressed by the young internet salesman, Keegan. He responded quickly and fully to EVERY question–no games. Besides that, no other dealership could/would give me a price anywhere near as good. (One even suggested the number was a “trick” and that I’d be back to them.)
The deal was real, the van was bought, and I am happy.
My local dealership, Middletown Honda, has done nothing but prove that their staff is incompetent and anything but personable. I have a 2008 Honda Accord which has had two major issues thus far, and in both cases, they did nothing except for take my money with a smile. The first was about a year ago when the stock rear brakes were experiencing dramatic premature wear with not even 20,000 miles on them, punctuated by a terrible grinding noise. The dealership told me it was driver’s error and charged 100 dollars service. I refused to accept that answer and took my car elsewhere. It turns out that Honda took fault for the issue, and a class action suit brought against the manufacturer has since been settled. My 100 dollars was never returned and I only found out about the recall from Honda by going to another dealer in New Jersey. Not only was I incredible inconvenienced and deceived, I was charged 100 dollar for labor.
The second issue with Middletown Honda occurred with the same car, but this time the manual transmission was the problem. Third gear is highly problematic as it does not smoothly shift into the gear and some times pops out during driving. I mechanic took the car for a ride and tried to replicate the issue but was not convinced there was a problem. I was charged 50 dollars, even though I am still under warranty, and told to keep on eye on it. The problem has since become worse and through my own research I found out a recent service bulletin has been placed on the exact issue. Honda of Middletown realized the issue after I called them to follow up on my own problem, and made no guarantees that the problem would be covered under warranty. Should I really take the risk and bring it back to the philistines, only to be told there is no problem and face another service charge? I think not.
This is my first experience buying a Honda and it went great. My salesperson Brad treated me with respect and honesty and helped me through the entire process. The finance department was also great. I will definately be buying my next Honda from Middletown Honda.
BUYER BEWARE !!!!! This is a very dishonest dealer. I went there to buy my wife a car and found a car she liked, after speaking with the sales rep and asked to wait to decide until the next day he went to his manager and gave me a better price but said I could only get it if I bought the car that day and it would be ready the next . I agreed signed the papers and left a $2000 deposit. The next day they informed me on the phone the car could not be sold suddenly . Funny thing is we had not finalized the deal and the sales rep said he check would not be cashed until all was finalized, I asked them to please not cash my check since now I wasnt sure what I was going to buy from them but still decided to cash my check even AFTER they told me I could not buy the car from them and I asked them not to cash it.
All deposit payments left on a vehicles are deposited for the security of both the customer and the dealership. The customer had left a deposit on a used car that had just been traded in. He was told that we needed it to be checked through the shop for any safety and or mechanical issue’s, and that that we need a day to do this . After finding several mechanical/Safety problems , it was decided that this would not be a vehicle that would meet our standards for a retail sale . The customer was immediately called and notified. He was offered a choice of a great deal on another vehicle with extra consideration on the price for his troubles or full refund. He decided to get a refund which was processed immediately.
I had a perfect buying experience with Middletown Honda. Everything went perfectly from when I put the request over the internet to when I drove my new Honda off the lot. They were very considerate and helped me at every turn. They showed me everything I never knew about Honda’s and gave me an incredible deal on the car I wanted. And I am so glad I bought it. I would highly recommend them as a dealership to all my friends. My best friend told me to go there and she was totally right. She’s never had a problem with the service department or anything there, and she has almost 150K miles on her Honda… Thank you Middletown Honda, I’ll be back for my next car.
2005 Civic Hybrid requires 0W20 synthetic oil. Middletown Honda adds a rip-off oil additive at my expense with my first oil change without my permission. I had the dealer replace the oil without the additive. My relationship went down hill from that point. Worst experience with a service shop in my life. Honda makes great cars. Middletown Honda should not be allowed to sell Honda vehicles.
At 133,000 miles Middletown Honda stated that I needed a new motor! I went to another Honda dealer and a private shop for more opinions. I did not need a motor! I now have have 196,000 miles on this vehicle and the only problem with the motor is that every 4,000 miles or so I have to add a quart of oil. No noise and no smoke from the engine.
AT 130,000 miles the engine was sputtering. Middletown Honda replaced the hybrid battery pack under warranty. I discovered, however, that the sputtering, was caused by a low engine oil cut-out switch. Keep the oil full-no sputtering. Honda took a bath on the batteries that were not needed. Approximately $5,000 at the time.
If you are going to buy a Honda I would highly recommend Honda of Sussex or Morehead Honda. I have had many dealings with Morehead for service when it sold and serviced Volvos. Morehead never caused me to feel as if I was simply being taken by, in my opinion, a gang of incompetents and thieves known as the service department.
My 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid is a great car. I will probably buy a new Honda within a year or so. I would never, however, return to Middletown Honda.
