STAY AWAY FROM HYUNDAI OF BRADENTON! I had been a helpless victim that had fallen for the usual ploy of friendliness, politeness and brainwashing getting me to think the salespeople and everyone at the dealership were great guys that would take good care of me!
With all the friendliness around I began to relax and, of course my guard went down. I liked the guys. I was comfortable with my salesperson and even more so when he gave me a monthly payment figure for the car after telling him I wanted to finance everything into a six year loan. I was eccstatic by the figure and couldn’t help but say yes! He then announced he had just sold a new car and everyone all clapped their hands! Sound familiar?? Those people should be behind bars!!!
I was then led to the finance officer (Vaughn – master con artist) who, I’m sure realized I was prepped, lubed and ready! I was totally relaxed, friendly, trusting and happy! I thought the guy would take care of me to write up everything since my montly payment figure was all figured out for the most part. I felt I could even afford to get a few extras since my monthly payment would be very reasonable! I told the finance officer I wanted a six year loan, decent interest rate and I accepted the extended warranty, the maintenance package and the road hazzard package. I was soo happy I forgot to ask what my monthly payment would be. The finance officer didn’t tell me, either, that’s for sure! He hadn’t mentioned also that my monthly payment was going to be $100 more per month that the dollar figure I was given! He also hadn’t told me he had changed my loan from a six to a seven year loan, also hadn’t mentioned my interest rate was kind-of high (5.79%) considering my credit scores averaged 760! I later found out local banks were offering 2.99% and less on new car loans. Navy Federal was offering 1.79% at the time.
I despise that finance officer. I was so stupid to have trusted him as I finally came down off the clouds a day later and took a serious look at the bill of sale. I couldn’t believe it! I wen back and cancelled all the extras I had purchased and of course this didn’t affect my monthly payment. I wanted to bring the car back.
I waited for the dollar credits to be applied to my loan for the cancelled extras. Two of the credits never made it they told me so I worked directly with the accounting department to make sure the credits were properly applied to my loan. I was finally able to re-finance the loan thru my credit union and change from a seven to a six year loan. Two local banks I had accounts with hadn’t been able to help me.
It also took TWO months for me to receive a regular license plate. The dealership had to give me TWO temp plates. The day before the 2nd temp plate expired I stopped-by the dealership thinking I could get another one, but low and behold I hit a road-block. The front desk brought me in to see another finance officer who told me he couldn’t issue me another temp plate. He said I’d have to drive on the plate I had now and that if I got a ticket the dealership would pay the ticket! At that point I lost it! I told him he belonged behind f__ bars and I walked out spitting on the glass exit door! I had had enough!! I called later that day asking to speak to my salesperson. I explained what had happened and he told me he’d need about 15 minutes and would call me back. He called as promised and said he’d take the paperwork himself to go get a license plate for me. The next day he made some phone calls and by the end of the day I was able to pick up my license plate.
I recommend anyone to stay away from Hyundai of Bradenton. If you must go there bring two good friends with you that won’t be swayed by friendliness. DO NOT GO ALONE! If it were me I’d call around asking to hire an attorney to bring to the dealership because Hyundai of Bradenton are a no good, bunch of ____ CROOKS!

This dealer is an example of why so many other dealers have a bad name :mad:….still ended up buying a Hyundai down in Sarasota at Gettle…love my car. I would say to steer clear of this place until they can figure out how to treat people properly.

Buyers BEWARE… Sent me home with the car I picked out…one week later calls me and tells me they need $1000 in order to keep the car…. next day it was $2000 and then $3000. I had gotten 5 different quotes from this dealer for the price of the car. No One was honest with me. Mr. Bill Applebut I think that is his name told me he was going to start charging me as a rental car and charge milage if I did not bring him this car back. So Beware Buyers this is a dishonest dealer. I worked with NICK, DAVE,VAUGH and BILL. Each one had a different price for this car. I would just stay a way.
Why is it that when people screw up every ounce of credit that is given to them, it is always everyone elses fault????? Maybe those of you looking to purchase junk cars from a “Buy-Here, Pay-Here” shouldn’t even bother walking into any large dealer, wasting your collective time, spending way more than you should, and ending up with the same result as the previous five dealers you visited…. Lord only knows you probably wouldn’t pay for the car anyways… I don’t think I could ever work at a dealership, just for the simple fact that I would have to deal with dead beats that think the world owes them something…. Grow up!!!
I posted this on the yuck reviews for Gettel as well cause I want everyone to know how awesome Jenkins Hyundai in Bradenton is!Just got my 1st new car an ’09 Tiburon and love it! this was my 1st car and went to mitz to look an eclipse, Gettle Hyundai cause my friend got his their. Talk about a horrible experince. They made me feel like a loser! The guy acutally said that unless I had a couple of thousand and someone else to sign onthe loan he was not going to bother putting my information in their system! I walked off the lot and I will never ever go back there for anything!
I then went to Jenkins and it was a totally differnet place! The guy was so nice and made me feel that he wanted to EARN my business, not that I should be grateful he was talking to me! We looked at cars, talked about money and my credit then we waited. They actually talked to a bank on the phone, explained my situation and I was approved! Imagine that Gettel! Thanks Jenkins, love it!:):D:o;):p
