Recently I purchased a 2011 Ford Edge from Matthews Currie Ford in Nokomis. Three separate incidents confirm that this organization is deceiving and has no concern with customer satisfaction.
First when I sat down with the salesman, Marty, he confirmed the price and stated ” plus taxes and other fees”. When we (I went there with my finance) sat down with the financial guy, he spent 10 minutes pushing the extended warranty and then proceeded to push and pull paperwork in front of me like a Las Vegas card dealer. It wasn’t until I got home to carefully review the paperwork to discover they charged a $699 Predelivery Service Fee. When I spoke with Marty regarding this charge, he claimed I was told about this fee. I would have spent some time discussing a $699 fee. An outright lie and my finance confirms this fee was never mentioned to us.
Second, when we were leaving, Marty told us he was going to look for the second key and let us know. He later advised me that there was no second key. I told him it is imperative the owner has a second key. I asked if the company would reimburse me purchasing a second key and he said they would not.
Third, when the customer service called the following day, she spoke with my finance. During the conversation, the rep mentioned that my finance should be entitled to a “finder’s fee” as she was the one who told me about the vehicle and I purchased it. When I mentioned this Marty, he said I should have told him about this before signing the paperwork. How could I mention something I didn’t know anything about ? If fact if the rep never mentioned it, it would not be an issue.
Needless to say I will never do business with Matthews Currie Ford again. I have purchased 8 vehicles in the past 13 years and return my business to the fine dealerships in Venice.
