My experience with Kelly Ford was bad from the get go. Did internet credit app, salesman said come on up we have you approved for the car I wanted. Get there in and out in about 2 hours. Had the car all weekend come Monday I get a call from the salesman who tells me I’m sorry but we can’t get you approved with that car, but come in so we can put you into something else. I arrive for him to tell me we can approve you with this car that has 80k miles on it, and there is no way in hell I would buy a car with that many miles on it. From the get go the price of the car on the website was about $18,000, when I got to the lot the car was priced at $22,000. Buyers beware of these guys they are cons. Now that I paid for insurance for this new car I was approved for I am out of money and still no car, have to ride a bus to school/work tomorrow because I sold my other car over the weekend. Not to mention a complete waste of time! Buyers beware!!!
I researched the web and found the car I wanted at Kelly Ford, Melbourne, FL. I travelled to the dealership and after a test drive made a deal to purchase the vehicle. The sale could not be completed because it was Friday night and the dealership was closing. I left a downpayment check with the salesman who promised to call me on Saturday when the paperwork was ready. The sales manager called me the next day and told me the car was ready to go. That it had been washed and filled with gas. I travelled back to the dealership and waited over an hour to sign the papers. As the signing was taking place, the finance director remarked that he had just closed a sale on an identical vehicle. As I was waiting in the showroom for my vehicle to be brought to me, the sales manager discovered that the vehicle I has just purchased had been sold to a different buyer. What a bunch of incompetent jerks. They tried to talk me into buying a similar vehicle, but I refused and eventually, the sale was voided and my downpayment check returned. Kelly Ford has serious management problems. I drove to Winter Park and found a similar vehicle at Greenway Ford. I saved money in the long run, because the trade allowance and dealer specials were greater at Greenway than at Kelly Ford. The main reason for this review is the staff at Kelly Ford showed no remorse. The sales staff made crude remarks, like “money talks”, “the early bird gets the worm” and “the first one with the cash gets the deal”. Apparently they care nothing about the customer.
I have been a loyal Kelly Ford customer for 12 years. My family has purchased a total of 12 new cars from Robert Kelly over the years. Pricing, financing and service has always been excellent until January 2012 when I walked into the dealership to purchase two new cars. Apparently Kelly Ford has a new owner, Glen Wood, who fired the help and brought in a new general manager, new sales manager, new service manager, new financing director and new service technicians. The salesman sold me a car that wasn’t on the lot and was actually in transit to another dealer. The sales manager agreed to pay $500 in dealership new vehicle rewards but reneged after the sale. The new service manager refused to honor dealership service rewards for free maintenance earned under Ford’s Owner Advantage program. The general manager, Wayne Blanchard, lied to my face regarding dealer specific issues. The dealership has not reimbursed me for cancelled insurance and maintenance contracts. Kelly Ford and its sister dealership, Palm Bay Ford, have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau due to the number of unresolved and unanswered consumer complaints. The owner of Kelly Ford, Glen Wood, is also the general manager of Palm Bay Ford. I made a serious mistake purchasing a Ford vehicle from Glen Wood, d/b/a Kelly Ford. Take my advice and stay away from Ford products in Melbourne until Glen Wood changes his illegal and dishonest ways. You can submit a dealer complaint with Ford by calling 800-392-3673. If you research Kelly Ford and Palm Bay Ford with the Better Business Bureau, you will find that Glen Wood ignores BBB complaints. I was sucker punched because I was unaware the dealership was under new ownership. Don’t make the same mistake I made. Save yourself.
Went to purchase a vehicle. Salesman would not budge at all on the shown price and didnt even care what I had to say. Another guy behind a counter scoffed and shook his head at me. I was not treated fairly and they were rude. Dont waste your time here unless you got to pay the price.
Since I am new to the Melbourne area, I first looked up Kelly Ford on the internet. I saw some poor reviews, but had a verbal “good” on Kelly Ford from a friend. I called Kelly Ford and was professionally greated by Don, Service Advisor. I explained to Don the problem I was having and he told me I could bring the car right over. I met Don at the dealership and because of his experience he had a pretty good idea what the issues were, just based on my explanation. I was given a ride back and forth to the dealership by Ray. That was really nice. I had many things to catch up on at home. Don called a while later and talked to me about the work that needed to be done. He explained everything to me. When my car was finished, Ray came and picked me up and took me back to the dealership. I paid my bill and talked with Don for a few minutes about my car. Again he explained everything to me and answered my questions. Don even had my car washed before I left. My car handles and sounds so much better. Thank you Kelly Ford and Don (Ray too) for excellent service and a very positive experience today.
After 10 days I got my truck back the paint was like sand paper the edges would cut your fingers the spoilers front and back were crocked, the transmission was over 2 quarts low of fluid.Nothing was done properly.Headlights were out of line and stering pulls to left.He toke it back for 3 more days to redo it. Front spoiler is still crocked, paint has rough edges left head lite still points up it still pulls to the left, even though he says he aligned the lights and front end.why lie about work you say you do and do not do it.What can be done about it?
I bought my mustang in 2008. I had a great buying experience. Then I had body work done in 2009 after someone dinged my car. Another fantastic experience – a great estimate and minimum downtime. Then I had a service call on January 2nd for a dead battery. Another great experience- The day after a major holiday and I was in and out in 45 minutes and no charge.
I just love these guys. No bull, no nonsense, no waiting. Can’t get any better than that.
I will be buying my next stang at Kelly ford.:)
Vehicle was brought in for tune up – service manager advised that dealer could rebuild rear end under warranty and recommended that I have it done even though there were no problems at that time. I agreed, and 24,000 miles later the rebuilt rear end failed. Two certified mechanics have verified the cause of failure was a broken part incorrectly installed during the rebuild process and left in place anyway – no other way for this part to fail in use! Kelly says “12,000 mile warranty, we won’t do anything about it”. Ford tells me I now have to buy an entire housing assembly just to get the one broken part. The cost of this repair is now up to $1400.00 simply because Kelly’s mechanic made a mistake and then hid the problem.
I bought the vehicle at Kelly, but that is a story about high pressure sales hustle that ‘ll reserve for another time.
No stars for them whatsoever. Was slightly interested to see if I would save enough gas money by trading and buying a hybrid. Stopped by Kelly to pick up a brochure and see what their hybrid looked like. Was greeted by a pleasant salesman but a second PUSHY one appeared (Roib Saslow) and talked at me for 6 hrs. I told him my interest might be for a hybrid but definitely no lease. 6 hrs. later I left there with a no-hybrid Fusion on a lease! Next day I called and said I would buy the car but wanted out of the lease. When he said “no” I asked to talk to his superior. The general manager came on and said Rob was correct that the lease was “written in stone”. Wanting so badly to get rid of the lease I bought a used car from them – first used car I’ve bought in 60 yrs.! That’s how bad I wanted to get out of the lease. They made me pay for the remaining 5 months of the lease – imagine paying 5 months for absolutely nothing. Before I knew them I though that the nice IRISH name would mean something good. Forget that! All this grief because I wanted a brochure.
