Throughout my time with Golf Mill Ford, they were often unwilling to help with or listen to issues I was having with my car. Recently, I had been hearing a buzzing/ humming sound from one of my tires. The mechanic at Golf Mill told me to “turn the music up” if it was getting too loud and that the noise was due to a lack of tire rotations. (Not true. I do tire rotations at home). As you can imagine, I wasn’t convinced and the noises were making me uneasy. I ended up going to another dealership that was recommended to me by a family member. The wheel bearing/ hub was in bad shape and needed immediate attention. How the mechanic at Golf Mill didn’t come to that conclusion is beyond me. They were not only irresponsible, but uncooperative.
I had transmission issues from the second I bought my car (Ford Focus). It shuddered and shook when switching gears. First, they told me it takes a while for the transmission to get used to your driving style, and you had to break it in. That didn’t work. Then, they said they can’t/ won’t do anything about it because that’s how the car is made and it’s not their concern. Interestingly enough, when I went to the other dealership for the wheel issue, they fixed the shaking and shuddering by doing a SIMPLE update. The car works like a gem now!
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT come here. Golf Mill is in it for the money, and their customer service is appalling. There are MANY other Ford dealerships a little farther from the area that have fantastic service and actually care about your satisfaction and safety with your vehicle. People generally come to Golf Mill because of the location, and that’s why they are able to continue their crappy service. I learned that the hard way! If you really want good service, go to Napleton Ford! They were a lifesaver.
John K was my salesperson. He was very knowledgable about all the cars. He took his time finding me what I needed, was very polite and patient. I would definately recommend him as a salesperson.
I actually enjoyed buying this vehicle. That’s a first. No one patronized me. I left with the Vehicle I wanted, with the features I wanted and none I didn’t want.
Did’t push me over budget.
When it’s time for my family to replace their vehicles, we will see Craig.
Before you drive into the dealership little courtesies like having waiting salespersons guide you to parking spots abound. Don’t let the pleasantries fool you! Before you write a check look for a rip off scheme called VIN etch. It’s a $299 insurance policy that involves etching the VIN numbers into the vehicle glass to aid in theft recovery. Unless you ae buying a car that is very high up the list of “likely to be stolen,” you probably will never be in this situation.
About a week after I had the car dropped at my house (like I said, cheap services abound), I called to inquire about a second key. My salesman informed me that the policy of the dealership is to NOT provide a second key on a used car sale. You cannot just have one of these “chipped” keys mad at Home Depot. They require a dealership and around $170. So they won’t deliver the extra key that belongs with the car and you have to spend an additional $170 on it.
The little courtesies aren’t worth the price of the rip-offs!
If I could give golf mill ford negative points I would. From the moment I got out of my car, I was pounced on by a sales person. Then, when I asked to speak with the person I had been communicating my email with it took well over 10 minutes for her to come out of her office. After speaking with me for less than one minute she handed me back to the sales person who had pounced on me previously. The sales person was so inexperienced and clueless. I explained what I was looking for and off she went to talk to her manager to get us an initial price quote. After more than 10 minutes of waiting, she came back with a full list price offer. I could not believe it since the email quote (on a the same model but slightly different options ) was more than $4000 less so I was the victim of a bait and switch. I told her that I had two other price quotes for the car as I had configured it that were more than $3000 less than this full list price offer and that I was leaving. This clueless salesperson says to me. Can you wait just a minute, I have to tell my boss when you are leaving. Can you believe this?! So then the sales manager comes over and I inform him that I am absolutely discusted that he would attempt this full list price offer on me, especially after his email department had low balled me an offer on a similar model. We went round and round and he fianally gave me a relatively fair price but at this point he had loss any trust or good will that I had for him or this dealership. I could not trust him that this dealership would give me fair prices on other things such as service in the future if I bought a car here. It is Very obvious that since this dealership is located in an area that has a high concentration of first generation immigrants, that they try to take advantage of their customers by making full list offers to all their customers instead of fair pricing. They do this to pry on the ignorance of people who may not be aware of how buying a car works in the US. Every person that works at this dealership should be very ashamed to work there.
