I saw a 2008 Mustang convertible advertised on the dealers web site, when I called to inquire about it they told me the car was available for a test drive, however when I showed up to test drive the vehicle I was than told it was in the shop and that it would be ready the next day, so the next day I called and the vehicle was still not ready. They Service manager told me that they were fixing a small issue with the car and awaiting a part, when I pressed for more information I found the “small issue” turned out to be the control arm for the suspension. In the meantime the salesman that I was speaking to kept guaranteeing me that he would get me the deal I was asking for with the trade in and percentage rate I was willing to pay and have my car payments at a reasonable price. First they offered me a trade in of $1500.00 on my current car and told me that was the highest they were willing to go, according to Kelly Blue book my current car is valued at $3679.00. When I told Milod that he responded that Kelly Blue Book doesn’t matter and that nobody really pays attention to that anyway. So I declined and almost immediately the offer jumped up to $2750.00, and that was the highest they were willing to go. I told him to get me a lower percentage rate and we would have a deal, he came back at me wanting an additional $1000.00 in order to get my payments $25.00 a month higher than what he guarenteed me. Also the advertised car was still not on the lot. I ran a carfax report on the vehicle and found out that it had been in a reported accident in 2008, this was info that was not disclosed by the dealer, and I believe the repairs they were doing were a direct result of the accident the vehicle was in. Prior to South Bay Ford having the vehicle it sat on a lot in Bellflower for approximately 3 months. Again, information that the dealer was trying to hide.
