I am the average consumer like you. I did a thorough research before committing to 2015 Equinox. As advertised, seemed to be the best value to comparable models. Like many people I am buying a new home. Having payments would hurt the loan process and approval amount. Because I have a great credit score and the money, I decided to do a one time pay for the 2 year lease up front as one payment so that it wouldn’t impact my home loan. I raised my concerns about what would happen if I was in an accident and the car was totaled because I would need to do something different if it wasn’t covered. Their finance manager(Nick) assured me any unused months would be prorated and given back to me by their gap coverage. Based on what was said to me, I bought the car and 6 months later was hit by an uninsured motorist that ran a red light. My insurance did their part. I waited almost 3 months, trying to work with them. They didn’t give me any of my money back (gap coverage). The contract I signed with Nick did not specify that it did or didn’t include gap coverage. So they chose not. When I tried to talk to Nick at Jeff Gordon about it, he quickly replied “yes they should give you the unused months back”. When I explained they weren’t, his response was “well you can’t expect to hold me accountable for something I said”. Before acting irrationally, I gave Jeff Gordon the opportunity to fix their mistake. They tried to sell me a car was their solution. I am taking them to court. But my message is this, if I had known about how shady and dishonest they were, I definitely would’ve gone somewhere else. If they can lie about whatever they like and not hold to it, is this someone you want to do business with?
i agree with other post. it is a bait and switch. i tried to trade with them in January 2012. would not do a deal. i traded at another chevy dealer that same day. i tried to trade my chevy truck in for a bigger engine just last week. i was told by Tony that they would do everything they could to get me in a truck i liked. you hear all these commercials about the great things they have done and they just want to get you down there. Bob Dolan who took over the application said he was working on it. he PROMISED to call me back last Friday by 12:15pm because i hade an 11 am meeting. i never got a call back. poor customer service. if you can do the deal or not call back. i will never ever ever buy or recommend this dealer even if i would the million dollar lottery!!
For the third time, I made a bad choice and went to Jeff Gordan service department. I was told that my compressor might be leaking, but was not sure and could fix the problem for around $1266. Compressor cost around $768. I can buy a brand new ac delco compressor from Corvette America for $298! I know you have to make a profit, but there is a big difference between profit and RIPOFF THE CUSTOMER!! That is not what P—ED me off. I was told my third brake light would not pass inspection as the lense is clear not red. I would like to know how it was passed for the past 8 years but not passed at Jeff Gordan!! Just chalk up another $$$$$ charge lost by the customer at Jeff Gordan service department!I plan to let family and friends and members of the car clubs I am a member of, know how this dealership treats it’s customers!! I would not return to this service department even if I had to drive 100 miles to another dealership. Save yourself a lot of trouble and JUST STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing against the salesperson, he wasn’t the problem at all. We were the victims of a “bait & switch” program. Their “auto finder” told us as late as Thursday afternoon that they had cars for the price range we were looking. We were buying a car for senior citizens who are on a limited budget and only had a set amount to spend. When we arrived today the Pre-owned car lot manager came over introduced himself and the first thing I told him was that we only had XXXXX to spend; there was no more and payments were out of the questions. He assured us that they had plenty of cars and arranged for a nice little kid to drive us around to show us the cars. Drove us up to a beautiful little PT Cruiser and after driving it, we were convinced that it would do for us. 30 minutes of “working the numbers” the kid came back, knowing that the car was way over what we had told him we could swing. It was close to $7,000 over what we had told them. And then the little kid says “…and the manager says this is the least expensive care on the lot.” Bait and switch…come in, we’ve got cars for you to look at…and then try to sell you something you can’t afford. It was rough on an 84 year old man who recently had a stroke to get in and out of the car and to lead us on like that was dishonest. Why not tell us before he got out of the car that there wasn’t a car on that lot that we could afford?????
I took my car there to fix a cosmetic issue. Somehow jeff gordon messed up so bad they cut a wire so my car won’t start and offered to fix it for 400 dollars. Dendi works in the car repair section and she was the rudest most condescending person I have ever met in a business. She rolled her eyes at me, talked down to me, and made it seem as if I was not worthy of her respect. She even had a disgusted look on her face anytime I talked. I will never go there for any reason whatsoever again. Worst mistake ever.
did not buy and will never buy from this place I will drive as far as I have to to get my truck but they will not get a sale from me have never been treated so bad at any dealer.
I’m the hardest person to satisfy when it comes to buying a new vehicle, I make salesman sqeamish and question why they ever got into selling vehicles in the first place! I was no match for Tony Holmes and sales/support staff at Jeff Gordon Chevy in Wilmington NC. These folks get it! This was the first ever totally enjoyable buying experience for me. There was not one thing that they could have done better to satisfy me, I will buy from JGC again.
I first contacted Jeff Gordon Chevy through the internet. Their response was quick :). The internet sales manager was in the parking lot in the rain at the car they had. I had specific features that I wanted on the car and he was getting the information. After determining which vehicle would be the one to best suit my needs, he said he would have the car pulled aside for me to look at.
When I got there the salesman that was assigned to me was ready with the car. I didn’t feel any more pressure than any other time you buy a car. The amount I agreed to was what I told them on the phone – the price was the same when I got there – no switches. Very happy with my car purchase.
I would recommend Jeff Gordon and Josh to anyone.
