I have no problem with Hyundai cars, I have a serious problem with management and service. They are dishonest and unethical. The service manager lied to me, the service adviser ignored my complaint, the GM called me a liar after purchasing from them many times. I have absolutely no problem with my sales person Les Novak, he is the only reason I even shop there, he is honest and a person with integrity. But I will never shop there again, I will hopefully stop others from doing the same. I have complained to Hyundai Corporate about this dealer representing their Brand, hopefully they will reprimand them because the AG’s office here will not.
Service visit for an oil change. Schedule appointment for 3pm.
Showed up, could not figure out where to go.
Finally found service department desk, 2 people working. 1 was a trainee so Noreen had to keep helping him instead of me. I guess this is OK. She never explained any paperwork and had me sign indicating I authorized them to do the service. This paperwork didn’t even have the price I would pay on it, glad I looked before I signed. The price was $34.95 for an oil change! Pretty high, but I needed one done, so I went through with it.
I asked Noreen how long this would take. She replied “about 40 minutes”. Well, long time for an oil change for an appointment I was scheduled for.
I went to the “customer lounge” at 3:10pm. A room with a TV, and some very uncomfortable chairs. Not what I would consider a lounge.
At 3:35, decided to stretch my legs. My car was still in the same place I parked it. Looks like that 40 minute estimate was too short!
At 4:25, 1 hour and 15 minutes after I arrived, I streched my legs again. My car was now parked outside the service door, my paperwork and keys sitting on the service associates desk, nobody to be found anywhere. At 4:45pm, I had to hunt down someone so I could get my car keys and pay.
Total: 1 Hour 40 minutes for an oil change.
Never, never again. Go somewhere else.
Bought my third Hyundai from this dealer, a 2016 Veloster. Brought the car in for it’s 7500 mile service a couple months later. The service adviser took the keys, did his walk around, brought the car over for service, tech finished the service and parked the car in the front lot.
They came to get me to pay for the service, I noticed a huge dent in the front left fender, I asked about the dent, the service adviser ignored me, until I brought him out to inspect the dent, he stated “Well sometimes with the silver color, I don’t notice dents”, so he was accusing me of bringing the car in with a dent.
The next day they ran the camera videos to see if anything happened while my car was there. The video showed a unknown customer, backed into my car and sped off, the tech parked my in a bad spot not a parking spot. The service manager called me to inform me of the video and stated “We will your car and provide a loaner and do not call your insurance company. I felt a little better.
Well….two days later the GM of Thompson Auto Group called me to let me know he did not approve the repair on my car and will not fix it for free, but they would be willing to give me an estimate on the damage. I was very upset, I thought according to the “Bailment Law”, that the dealer was repsonsible. He also stated that if I went to Home Depot and my car was hit, Home Depot wouldn’t be responsible, I told him when I go to Home Depot I don’t give them my keys and have them park my car.
I compalined to the AG’s office only to have them rule in favor of the dealer. So now I am doing everything to stop others from buying or servicing a vehicle there. For a 200-500 repair for a dealer body shop they have lost a customer for life after spending over $55,000 in the last 3 years with them. I will not stop berating them, I will continue to let others know of how dishonest and unethical they are, they had a choice of saving a buck or saving a repeat customer….they chose the buck…
