I took my 2004 325 XI to Open Road BMW since my car was stalling out. I was told I needed a new battery (which would be reasonable since my battery is 5 years old) and to replace the idle air actuator. In addition they told me my valve cover need to be replaced due to leaking. The total bill came to $1,755.58. In less than one week my car once again started stalling out. When I took the car back to Open Road and told them they did not fix the stalling issue. Jose Jimenez BMW told me they informed me that it would cost me an additional $1,655.86 to fix the same issue. Now they wanted to replace the fuel pump and fuel filter. Since I just serviced my car last week they would discount this additional bill of $1,655.86 to $955. I then called Flemington BMW which is 30 miles away from Open Road BMW. If I had taken my car to the Flemington BMW the first time, the cost would have only been $1,097.78 a difference of 657.80. To replace my fuel filter and fuel pump at the second dealer would cost $895.00 (including parts and labor) a discount of 761.00 versus the full bill of $1,655.86 and $60 less than the discounted bill of $955.00. Flemington BMW then informs me that my fuel pump and filter do not need to be replace and only my idle timing needed to be adjusted. Open Road BMW is grossly inflating their service bills and not performing the service that was overpaid for. When I compared Open Road’s bill against the service estimate from Flemington BMW, Open Road was charging me double for the labor. Either someone is really inefficient or Open Road is padding their bills. I will never return to Open Road BMW again.
Walked in not being very knowledgeable about BMW, other than the M6 I bought 2 months ago from a wonderful dealership in Maryland. I walk in to Open Road looking to buy. On the floor they have a 528i, which caught my eye. Mohammad approached me and we talked about the sticker price. It was a 2008. He tells me that the price they have there includes all charges, taxes, etc. For 47,999. I thought it was a pretty good deal for all inclusive. To ask more about the car I asked if it has premium package and adaptive headlights. He says yes. So we sit down to make a deal. I talk them down to 45,000. Signing comes, and we come to find that his first promise of all included, is not true. They offer me 44,000 for the car so I agree. I take the car home to find out 1 week later that the lights are not adaptive (from driving at night). Another lie, except now I’m stuck with the car. I show the car to my friend who points out that the interior is not leather! Leatherette!?? Premium Package? I go back to trade the car 2 weeks after I buy it for a 535xi. They offer me 36,000 for my trade of the car they just sold me for 44,000 2 weeks prior! These guys are snakes, buyer beware. Make sure you know your stuff when you walk in here. They jack up their prices insanely. When you negotiate, make sure you get the price you WANT. They will play the best friend game up to a point where it’s rather annoying, don’t fall for it! Only go there if you know your stuff, what the car should have, and what it’s worth EXACTLY!
