Terrible!!! Stay away…
After 3 or more hours negotiating, they came up with a price for a new vehicle, and a trade-in price for my current vehicle. As always, they requested my signature on the offer and we were agree on the terms.
When I was signing the paperwork, and the new vehicle was taken to fill up with gas and wash it over, some one said that a mistake was made, and they could not honor the offer made.
I was mad, spoke with the sales manager, with no result.
Two days later, I spoke with the General Manager Bruce Weinrich, who apologize, but did not change anything about respecting the deal they previously offered.
He basically spitted on his company name and reputation….He did not take any responsibility for the mistake made by his team, or tried to compensate some how the situation.
Please do not give any more business to this company with no idea about customer service and formality…
I first corresponded by email with Caitlan who had the perfect V-8 vehicle! I also found that vehicle online on their website with the same VIN number so I knew it was the same. However I noticed online that they said it had an ecoboost engine and I know V8s don’t have ecoboost engines so I was very confused but went in anyway to see the truck.
I had already explained I was very very chemically sensitive and wasn’t sure how I would handle the new smells, I explained that I got brain seizures and other reactions from the strong odors.
As soon as I got there, I was told the truck had sold and that just didn’t feel right. The truck is still on their website now and I spoke with someone about it through their chat box and she told me, 3 days later, that it has not sold.
So another truck was brought around but the vehicle smelled so toxic I couldn’t even get into it. By that time, Nate was being quite rude to me and he kept shouting and asking me why I wouldn’t get into it with $12,000 off and I kept saying “No, not if it makes me sick!” Finally I kept telling him to stop putting me on the defensive because that was he was doing, backing me into a corner and attacking me. I still don’t understand why he did that, I was made to feel like a horrible person for having an illness no one would want because it has limited my life totally. I’m 69 years old not that it makes a difference, no one should be treated with such disrespect. I have never had to face anyone like this before, usually when I speak of my sensitivities, I am respected and no one pushes me any further. So I left feeling quite ill, stress makes it all so much worse. This wasn’t worth it in any way and I am still also angry at the bait and switch.
I have never been treated with such disrespect and am still reeling from it and not understand and wondering what I did that was so wrong except be honest.
Borman’s advertised “One Price” auto price is low. However, we experienced Borman’s deception practice to charge ~$400 additional fee! We signed the contract to purchase the car that we came to look at. The Financial manager charged us $199 (a paper handling fee for its FINANCE Dept) regardless no financing is needed and we express that we wish to register the auto with State ourselves, this paper fee is still mandatory. Plus an additional uncomprehending “AUTOSECURE” fee of $195 for its ACCOUNTING Dept. Also mandatory! You let your customers wait 4 hours before the washed & gas-up auto could be delivered, and did not remove the “Borman Autoplex” icon which was promised by using string nor the glue on the back of auto body. A followup via phone was awful, the sales manager was quite rude when we asked how to open all 4 car doors at the same time, he went off with loud tone that we should pay to install add-on while we did not realize that the info we inquired was that the low-end auto does not have a central control nor a remote available. We felt as mistreated customers that after the auto purchase was complete, Borman wants you to get lost.
We were promised alot and did received what was promised. Then after he messed up he still made us feel as if it was our fault and it would be on us to fix it. Make sure everything is in writting and even then make sure anything they say they will do actually gets done. Buying a car should be a happy and exciting time and for us it was a hassel. Borman would talk down to us and made us feel like we were being annoying. When in reality it was them who messed up. Now we are stuck with a car we are NOT happy with. I will never go back!!!
This is the typical snake in the grass small town dealership. They prey on the unsuspecting and will make you feel like a fool in the end. You are better of buying a car from Satan. He will be more honest. Sorry for bursting your bubble
I found your practice deceptive. You make your customers wait hours before you get the individual that has your contract all set up with all the figures which he quickly goes over with you. He asked you to sign and initial this and that and all you want to do is get out of there. Insurance is added and who knows what else is added in your contract. I have spoken to “Bruce” who promised to return my “autosecure” monies, which has been almost a year in waiting. I love my car and God willing will continue running. Bruce has refused my calls; a letter has been sent to the owner of autoplex with no response.
Same Experience here too, I don’t know where the radio and tv commercials get that it’s the “best” service in town and easy. I was also there for four hours and a contract ready to sign. I went in knowing what I wanted and got pushed for something totally different. I said no, repeatedly, test drove the car I really wanted and went back to the chair, still getting a “NO” on the Honda I wanted. In the “semi-end” they were saying they wanted at least $5K down with around a high $500 monthly payment. I was slowly getting brainwashed of that I can afford this. Finally my mother question for what car it was for and it was a Hyundai not a Honda. Repeated process for all, finally my mother asked if it would be financed by Honda America since our family is a Honda Family with great credit with Honda America. MANAGER stepped in saying YES and to start signing on agreeable prices. As brainwashed I was, I started to, on a car I didn’t want. They TOOK forever in another room “TRYING” to “WORK SOME NUMBERS OUT”. From 1pm to 5:45pm I finally decided to just get up and leave, ENOUGH! The sales man and it’s RUDE Manager started following us. Telling us they were almost done, blah blah blah. I politely told them that I was not interested in a forced car that I did not want from the start. Then the RUDE Male manager says, “WHAT CAR DO YOU WANT??” I stated it, then he was jumping into a $39,000 deal. I laughed, because I truly had enough. I politely said no and started to walk, he stated “TO BE A MAN” and “STEP IT UP” – that the “ECONOMY IS GREAT” to “STEP IT UP”
– Thats when i could of really went off on him, but didn’t.
I don’t think he is paying my monthly payments, just a rude man.
END OF STORY: ended up going to to Honda of El Paso, with in 30 minutes of talking to a wonderful sales man, knowing what I wanted and him surprised of the knowledge I already had of the car I wanted. With $0 down / first months paid / financed with Honda America with a $498 payment (very affordable in a college student budget) – PS- The male Manager from Borman lied about Honda financing it thru them, in the document it didn’t state a dealer report check up from Las Cruces,nm, only from El Paso TX, guessing it was going to go thru a Borman Financing thing?
Anyways
Only problem was- they didn’t have the color I wanted, as Borman did, but would never go back.
As nice and polite as the sales man was, he talked to his nice manager and looked into colors. They actually went out of their way, to track EXACTLY what I wanted, color and all, They even priced matched with Borman Autoplex – AS BORMAN STATED I WOULD NOT FIND A CHEAPER DEAL ANYWHERE ELSE WITH IN A 200 MILE RADIUS! The plus was, they price matched it and it was $1K cheaper then Borman, but because I wanted my dream car of color. Since it was not in a local area, it had to be shipped, I did have the option to wait to see if a truck would arrive, not knowing what color would be in. Or order the car have it in town with in three days with a shipping price of 800$ since the trucker was only going to be traveling with my dream color car. After how Borman treated me, I said why not. Honda of El Paso was so helpful and so nice, I truly hope more Las Cruces Locals would travel over there, even if the drive is 45 minutes, it sure beats being at Borman for about four years. I will give Borman this, when i did receive my car, I wanted to tint my windows in NM since the % is darker then Texas. Their tenting service was nice and sweet generally speaking of Mayra from Borman.
Sorry, it was long, but I just wanted people to not listen to those ad’s running repeatedly on the radio and T.V. commercials.
I recently graduated with my degree in nursing, I wanted the new civic but was being pressured to buying a used corolla, I will never return or recommend these horrible people (bruce, garret) and who they represent the borman autoplex. Unhappy loyal customer.
Contact the Attorney Generals office and file a complaint!!!!
Just a bunch of lie’s, I was told by the sales guy Tony that I had satellite radio turns out i don’t. Then i was told they where going to pay for my inspection sticker that was a lie to. turns out i had been calling this ass tony to find out what was going on he would tell me i’ll find out and call you back. He never did so i called a manager turns out this guy does not even work there. So i told this manager Junior what I was promised and by who his answer was pretty much there nothing we can do. In other words we already made the sale who gives a f**k about you sir. Know i have the tire pressure light coming on and his trying to give me this excuse about hot and cold weather and other BS I will never go there again and i’m not going to let this go. I’m going to take it as high up as i can until they correct how we where wronged they messed with the wrong f**ken TEXAN!!!
Did not buy a car from Borman Autoplex. I have a 2006 Sonata that I have had serviced in a Northern NM city. I have never had a problem when receiving service before. When my daughter took the car in all the service department did was give her a hard time patronize her and give me a hard time over the phone. The service team even told her that they prefer to work on Hondas and not Hyundais. They even tried to show her how to add and subtract. Needless to say they ended up servicing the car last week. Today the window that the fixed ended up not being fixed and in fact make horrible noise, and scratched the tint. I would not recommend this dealer for service. If you want great service on a Hyundai using just about any service warranty go to SW Hyundai in Albuquerque.
this was a walk in experience. The salesman was great but when I sat down to buy the car at the agreed on price the manager showed up and disallowed the price after finding out that I had a preapproved loan and would not use the dealer sponsored loan. very disappointing but not that surprised from a car dealer. will not go back or recommend.
My name is Marlyn Martinez and I would to make a comment regarding our experience at Borman, it was the most horrible experience I have ever had in purchasing a vehicle. This vehicle was for my dauther Monica Martinez and of course being my daughter’s first vehichle she wanted to be perfect. Well it wasn’t, we were pushed into buying a car that my daughter did not like at all, Bonnie the salesman would just bring random cars for my daughter to test drive and to encourage to buy the car even though my daughter had requested a certain type of vehcile and they ingnored her requests, Sarah the sales manager brain washed my daughter into thinking this was only a temporary vehicle and that in six months to a year she could refinance or even trade in for her dream car. Well that didn’t happen, they made us believe that we were not going to get a better deal than 19% interest and a 450 monthly payment for a 2010 vehicle that was going to be upside down as soon as you would drive it off the lot. I feel we were taken advantage of. I will never recommend anyone to Borman Autoplex ever. The worst part is that they made us drive down thinking we were getting the best deal ever. And they had us in the dark for 4 hours up until they had the contract ready to be signed. I feel that this was the worst experience ever. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. This is why I’m a writing this comment so noone will ever go down and be taken advantage of like we were. Freddie the finance officer was not helpful to us either, he was just asking us to sign the contract without even explaining to us what we were signing. But I want Borman Autoplex to know that we got a great deal at Viva Kia in el paso, texas. My daughter bought herself a 2011 Kia Forte Koup for 23,000 at 11 % and payments below 450 a month and she bought her dream car. And I want Sarah the sales manager to know that she is the worst person I have ever met. She didn’t care of anything but making the sale. NO MATTER WHAT!
I thinks we had the same sales manager….
Mr. Bob Mocerino Service Manager
C/O Borman AUTOPLEX
470 West Boutz Street
Las Cruces, New Mexico 88005
Sir:
Recently I was plagued with a series of seemingly unrelated ‘problems’
concerning my Hyundai brake system. In addition there was a recurring
problem with the dashboard ‘airbag’ warning indicator. I was impressed
with the fact that you ascertained the situation and then directed
your staff to resolve the issues.
The remedial actions taken have reaffirmed my trust in the integrity
of the Hyundai braking system. The efficient friendly service was
greatly appreciated especially as I am a senior citizen that is totally
dependent on my Hyundai for transportation.
Thank you for being such an effective manager.
Sincerely,
Customer #103551
year of vehicle is 2006
Wasn’t really in the market, but stopped by to look at the new Mustang. Carlos was very nice – I told him I wasn’t looking to buy today, and he still helped me. We drove two different cars, and he shook my hand when we were done. I was so pleased with the car and the salesman, I went back a couple days later. Carlos was happy to see me, and I feel I got a good deal, too. I’ve bought cars before, but this was the nicest experience I ever had!
Not sure what I did wrong in my review, but make no mistake… I WOULD RECOMMEND THE BORMAN AUTOPLEX to anyone!
Bob was very helpful to me and my whole family. We have bought over 5 vehicles from Borman and we have been treated great each time.
Thanks David
I thought i was getting an ok deal from borman, however almost 3 weeks after buying my car there is suddenly a “problem” with my financing…they know as well what time i go to work and continually call after that when no one is here……I am getting very uncomfortable as the car I traded in was unsafe for me and my kids, with the heater not working and such…. I dont know what to do but I guess we will see.
bought a car august 20th had so many problems with it i just got it back after a long battle with them on nov20th never buying from them again:mad:
glad i didnt make the same mistake and buy from them……..
Find another Dealership. unless you enjoy being lied to repeatedly. i bought a new honda crv had a deal done finally after 4 hours of discussion and then went home for the night and returned to bring down payment and then i was told that there was something wrong with the contract. well it was redone and then told me my payments now went up by “only” $25 a month. i told them that was unacceptable and after another 4 hours of discussion we finally came to an agreement with me still having to pay partially for THEIR mistake. then when driving off i noticed an engine light on, a red exclamation point so i talk to the manager and he directs me to the service department telling me it was only the tire pressure sensor and that they’d fix me right up. so i get there and they tell me they can’t do anything to just go to a gas station. so basicly i was refused help by their service department on the day i just purchased my new crv. i am so disgusted that i will never return. i will go ahead and drive 35mile to another honda dealership to have my vehicle serviced. just a very unprofessional place that doesn’t give a darn about their customers. i will never ever go back, i wish i would have just went somewhere else in the 1st place.
completely agree….i almost bought a car from them but luckiy didn’t do it

Just an update…turns out the government was not the hold-up at Borman. The dealership was. As the weeks passed, we got the royal run-around, no straight answers from them what-so-ever!!
In the end, we asked for our money and registration back. We barely made the deadline for the second wave of Cash for Clunkers…Keep in mind, our deal at BORMAN was made during the first wave of the program!!
They said they were part of the program…turns out that they were not an “authorized dealer”. The turn around for a deal was supposed to be ten days. At the time that we received our money it had been nearly THREE WEEKS!
Shame on them for stringing us along…I am not sure why they would do that but I do know that while they did not hustle for us on the deal, they sure cashed our check in NY minute!! Within 12 hours, our check had been cashed!:mad:

BORMAN AUTOPLEX HIRES THUGS AND THEIVES TO CHEAT AND ROB YOU….
I was lied, cheated and threatened with harm when I tried to get Bormsan to honor the used car warranty. The used car dept. is full of thugs. The F250 still is in my drive way and does not run. They have broken 3 laws and still will not resolve the issue. Avoid Borman Autoplex at all costs. You will be swindled for sure. Josh Mckintire & Bruce Weinreich will lie to you & Junior Barella will threaten to punch you out as he did me. I’m a disabled person too!! I have used the New Mexico Attourney Generals office for help. They have listed 3 laws that they have violated. They still do not want to resolve this. I will get a lawyer and take them to court. Please, please don’t waste your time there and get stuck with a lemon as I did.
ALL THUMBS DOWN FOR BORMAN AUTOPLEX.
best of luck in your efforts…….not happy with my treatment there either
The best experience ever. I negotiated the deal over the phone on an ad priced vehicle. When I arrived the Sales Manager and Salesman did exactly what they promised. I was in and out within an hour. I highly suggest you see Robert Abercrombie or his manager Michael Washam if you want a Hyundai, Honda, Mazda, Ford, Lincoln or Mercury. 😀
I bought a new honda accord back in 2004 from borman, then a 2007 honda cr-v.
I went to trade in a 2008 honda civic ex coupe for a honda civic hybrid. After a big disagreement with the sales manager, I was walking out the door and the manager called me a f***ing idiot.
know what you mean. Not nice to be tricked
