Do not buy from Autotown! We signed financing papers that and were not financed at the rate we signed for, then they tried to raise our interest rate and payments. I believe they knew the financing wouldn’t go through but really wanted the sale so they “promised” financing that wasn’t possible as I pointed out to them! Ended up returning the purchased car for my traded in vehicle- what a nightmare.
This is the kind of dealership that gives car salespeople a bad name…
It’s the people that make a dealership and the people at Auto Town are great. Josh sold me a brand new Mazda5, though I must say there was very little selling going on. Josh was low pressure, but was very knowledgable about the Mazda5. As I walked around the van (yes, a Mazda5 is a mini-minivan) Josh would point out facts and features. I ended up going through Mazda credit for financing and that was truly painless. Thank you Auto Town Mazda!
I shopped around at a couple car lots on Mcloughlin. I knew what i wanted and what i wanted to pay. I left a couple right away when they wanted to run my info without letting me look at cars first. At Autotown i was greeted with a very respectful & not pushy salesman. They didnt presure me into something i didnt want or a price i didnt want. This is my 4th car purchase. I am definatly 120% satisfied.. They have a great team there. I would recomend going there instead of anywhere elese. THANK YOU AUTOTOWN!!!!!
At first it may seem that you may be dealing with some straight forward people here, but this place is nothing more than a shady, roadside car lot with a bunch of scammers working there. I went there to purchase a truck and as I was getting ready to leave they figured out that there was some problems with the 22′ wheels that were on it, and told me to I would have to take the factory wheels back. Apperently the wheels that were on it did not belong to it, but whatever. No big deal, but the tires that were on the factory wheels were shot, so the sales guy said that he would put new goodyears on it. So I take it in later so they can swap the wheels and when I pick it up theres some cheap ass ebay special tires on it. I get the assistant sales guy and he gets pissed off cause I cussed at him, but what the hell, dont be a scammer then we wouldnt have a problem in the firsts place. So this “professional” start screaming back at me, and then runs up to my wife and start screaming at her. They dont care as long as they get you out the door. So the paper work said “new tires” but didnt specify what type. Make sure you document everything wit this group of hodlums. I have a feeling they wont be around too much longer anyhow. Anyone who who has the balls to throws some cheap ass tires on a 40k truck, and throw it in you face has to have a bad rap. Thanks alot Autotown, you guys suck!
We were looking for a specific make/model, autotown Mazda had one in stock. First contact was via email with Blake – I was seeking info. He did not answer my questions, but put me on an annoying email list. He finally answered some of my questions, but not to my satisfaction.
A few weeks later, we found the vehicle on the internet with the info we wanted. We decided to stop in to check it out and test drive. The keys had been misplaced, so a Honda tech from a neighboring dealership had to come over and sync a new smart key for it. After a delay of 45 minutes or so, we finally test drove it. Rob went with me on the test drive, and was helpful. The vehicle checked out okay, although in the dark I missed some pretty good scratches and a window that had terrible scratches in the tint. That was my fault for missing those items. But, we ended up making an offer.
The negotiations were frustrating. Chris, the on site manager countered our offer, and made us believe that his number would work. He did this twice, until we ended up at their asking price. I think he was taking advantage of the fact we had two small kids with us who were getting hungry. If the dealership is not willing to go down, then DON”T COUNTER. Just tell us the price is firm. Instead he wasted our time. We felt the price was still decent compared to other vehicles, so we agreed to purchase the vehicle, although I know we left money on the table.
While signing the papers, we noticed that Chris added the “Anti-Theft” option, which cost $399. This simply transfers the VIN etching into your name, which is pointless because the VIN will already be in your name when vehicle ownership is transferred. It’s a TOTAL scam, and Chris tried to sneak it in without asking.
As we left, Rob saw us off. The battery had been disconnected, so the radio required the pin code. They could not find the manuals with the code, so Rob offered to help use his contacts at the Honda dealership the next day to obtain the code. He also offered to mail us the lost key when it was found.
Rob then went MIA. He did not respond to a single email or phone message. We were disappointed because he was helpful the night of the purchase. I ended up getting the radio code from Dick Hannah Honda at no charge. THEY were helpful. A month and many attempts later, I called Autotown once again in search of the lost key (they cost $160 to duplicate). Blake answered the phone and was immediately hostile towards me. I think he was mad that he didn’t get the sale. He has much to learn in the customer service area. His behavior reminded me of a high school girl.
They did have the key, so I drove across town to get it.
I purchased my last two vehicles at Gresham Toyota. I went back the second time because they actually followed through with what they promised. Too bad they didn’t have this vehicle. I will not even look at Autotown next time we purchase a car. They are disrespectful, lazy, and only care about the money – not about retaining customers. They have no problem ripping you off.
While the Internet Sales team is fine…(although it was mentioned several times that they get a bonus if I give them good ratings)…the FINANCE team are all jerks and slim-shady. They added in random fees that were quoted much lower, but since it was a lease it was easier to hide. Whatever you do NEVER EVER buy a car from these people….go to Royal Moore instead, I wish I did.
I spent 2 months shopping, mostly over the internet, for a specifically configured Mazda5 GT. Two of the 5 dealerships I worked with actually gave me the numbers I needed. They even had to bring the car down from the Seattle area.
The internet people at Autotown were straight shooters and gave me the lowest figures so I bought the car from them … they gave me excellent service and the best price … even though I don’t live in the Portland area. Most everything was handled through email, and a couple of phone calls. I liked that. 😀
I had purchased a car from them back in 07, and just now I had to get it tuned up and have some things fixed. They were really great with the way I was treated. It took a little longer than what they told me, but well worth it. My car is back up to speed. I am happy I bought my car at Auto Town Mazda.
