The Dealership wasted 3 days of my time, and caused me to miss a premium day of work because they lied to me. I went there on friday evening, and after spending a longggggggg 4 hrs. i was told i was approved for a car loan. The car in question was not at the location, and had to be brought in the next day according to them. I signed all the paperwork, they took my downpayment(cashed one check immediately, without providing any good or service), and even sold me an extended warranty. I also obtained insurance on the vehicle. I left thinking that saturday i would go back , and pick up vehicle. Saturday drug on, and i finally got in touch with the dealer. They told me that no one was available to deliver the car, and that they promised that i could pick it up monday. I then had to reschedule my work, and miss the day monday, costing me $500 in premium pay. All this time from fri nite until monday, there was no mention of not being approved, only that they were sorry my car wasnt there, and they promised it would be at the dealership monday. I finally reached the finance mgr monday afternoon, at that moment about 430pm monday, he indicated that he couldnt get me approved for the full amount and want to stick it to me for another $2500 down, after i had already put $4300 down. i said hell no! I was angry, because, 1) they had cashed a ck without an approval, 2) caused me to put ins. on a car i wasnt approved for 3) wasted time, and gas going up to buford from canton, more than an hr. drive. 4)causing me to miss a premium day of work costing me $500, also the stress and aggrevation all this bullshit had caused me for 3 days.5) I was lied to by the finance manager who PROMISED me i would have my $300 refunded to my via company ck, and my other $4000 ck returned to me no later than wednesday, its thursday, and i havent received anything from the dealership, and the finance manager doesnt even have the common courtesy to call me and explain why i havent gotten my money back, and why he lied and promised i would have it by wednesday!!!!! Bottom line, , they deceive, and they lie. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!
My husband when in to buy a car and was highly pressured to do so. He was told that he would also need my (his wife) signature on the loan to get the car. He did not give them my information but they checked my credit anyway with out my permission. When he came home with the car I told him to take it back and I would not sign for it. He took it back and they told him that he cannot return it and that they will take us to court if I do not sign the paperwork. These people are low life liars. I will be calling every consumer help group and a lawyer tomorrow. Don’t go there!
After being assured that the exact car we wanted to buy was available on their lot, we made an appointment and drove 2 hours to be greeted by the salesman stating the car would be delivered to our home at a later date. then they tried to sell us another car for more than the internet quote that was also not on the lot. After many differect people coming to us tring to “make it right” we were approached by Gene Dean who was absolutly the rudest person i have ever come in contact with. He acted as if he didnt know why we had come or what car we wanted, he basicly stated that the easiest deal was for us to walk one way and Rick Hendrick to walk another, then winked at the salesman, grinning! Needless to say we left, but not before considering knocking his teeth down his throat. Do not become their victim!
I took my car in to be checked due to a sluggish start. I left the car with the service department. I received a phone call about an hour later and was told the repair would cost $689 for a battery and a positive cable. When I declined I was asked to give them 20 minutes to put the car back together. When I arrived I asked David why they think the cable was bad, he said they wiggled the wire and certain lights came on. I noticed a lot of corrosion on the battery and asked if that could be the problem. I was told no the problem was in the assembly in the cable. They did not even bother to try to clean the corrosion off the battery, just charged me $98 to, according to David, wiggle a wire. When I spoke to the service manager, Mark, he insisted that my cable will go bad due to the corrosion that David had said was not the problem. I will NEVER use this service department or this dealer again and would NOT recommend them to anyone!!
Took a day off & traveled 170 miles from SC to Ga. to see a GMC truck I’d found on line. I was told by the salesman (George) the truck was available and ready for me to see. When I arrived George handed me off to “his best salesman” who began bringing everything up from the lot except the truck I’d come for. After several awkward minutes of asking where the GMC was – the Manager came out and broke the news – the GMC had been SOLD- I don’t believe it was ever there. It was a ploy to get me down there ….beware of this dealership and their deceptive sales tactics. I was never even offered a drink of water much less a gas card for my wasted trip down there. 340 miles to be exact.
Let me guess! the Buford, GA location? I worked there as a salesperson for 13 days before I quit. The management team at this location list pictures, descriptions and prices online for vehicles they took pictures of in parking lots at nearby Wal Mart. I inquired to them about the dishonest process they used to lure folks to their lot. Their General Manager asked me “who are you to pass judgement on our processes anyway?” He preferred that I just be a salesman and not a P&S%Y and take advantage of an opportunity to switch them to a different car. Can you believe that? Beyond horrible. This dealership is the worst I’ve ever heard of.
We were disappointed throughout this process. But were most frustrated with the utter lack of honesty in the car buying process. I would avoid this dealership.
To start with, we had a salesman looking for a car for us (a Suburban). The sales man continually showed us vehicles that did not meet our specs then disappeared. As we were finally ready to buy they brought us a car that was above our price range. We told them that is was above our price range (I was on my way to buy a similar car in our range) The sales assistant, George, assured me that they could get to our price. After 3 VERY clear conversations they assured me my time would not be wasted. When I got to the dealership I gave them my price before the test drive and they further assured me that I was not wasting my time. Again, I was brutally clear about my expectations. After 2 hours they offered me a price $1500 ABOVE the internet price and $4500 above the price that I was very clear I was willing to pay.
This dealership was, at best, completely inconsiderate of my time (Memorial Day weekend) and at worst, dishonest in my entire experience. I WOULD NOT trust this dealership and will not deal with them again. Take this for what it is worth by Buyer Beware with respect to this dealership.
The one thing I do have to say is that a manager did call back to apologize to me. It was a small consolation, perhaps it will chage something. The fact is that there is a lot of pressure to get you in the door regardless as to what is said or committed to.
Great people with the new management. Tried to purchase here before but totally turned off. I believe the new name is Rick hendrick Chevy.
They also have lots of racing stuff
Gwinnett Place Chevrolet’s Service Department is the finest I’ve encountered in the last 25 years of driving. All service work exceeds expectations as does the courtesy and customer concern shown by all their employees. Keep up the great work!
I have purchased my last three new cars from Gwinnett Place Chevrolet in Duluth. They have always given me the best deal. Their people are always helpful and they have a large selection of vehicles to choose from. Their service department is prompt and efficient and has been good while dealing with any vehicle requirements I have had.
