I purchased a 2002 Honda Civic from this dealer less than a week ago. To begin with, the dealer is no longer representing itself as Consumers Suzuki although their signage says so, and the credit card charges are from that name. Within one day the check engine light went on and they claimed it was just a fuel pressure issue. The very next day, not forty eight hours from purchase, the transmission gave out and the vehicle is unmovable. The dealership would not help at all. The car is stuck on the side of the road and all they said is that I have a warranty that will cost a $100 deductible “if I can get the vehicle to them.” That is an additional $125, and I had to take the day off of work which is another couple of hundred dollars. So all told I would have to put $500 into this vehicle just to have them look at a failed transmission not 48 hours from purchase. I asked to speak to the owner and was rebuffed each time by the “sales manager.” She refused to ask him to speak to me, saying he wouldn’t know anything about the sale! He is still hiding behind her, and they will not help whatsoever despite saying that they are offering help. Since the dealership is not acting surprised at all I can only surmise that this is business as usual for them. I urge you to not visit this dealership. They know that their customers are in a bind and feel that they are the only way to get a car, but you will lose and only make things harder on yourself. Please, please, do not visit this dealership. They are a blemish on the community.
I was called every racial slur from this man, I had to pray to my father to keep my cool, I contacted the livingston county police on Mike. Mike took my 200.00 to hold my car I was told by him if I found another vehicle he would refund my cash, I found one that day in Lowel, Michigan. I was told my money would be mailed out on Saturday and that would have been the next day, I recieved a call from Sara who stated they will drop the price from 6000 to 5200, and if I still wanted to use the other dealer ship I would have to drive all the way back to Brighton from Lansing, I was told I would get my cash mailed in a check, after speaking with Valarie she said it would go out on Tuesday, fax over id and info called back Mike said we dont mail cash you want your cash come get it,and if I didny come that day I would not get it, I left work early went to get my cash, he asked me to sign some paper he typed up that made no sence and then he would mail me my cash, I said no he said well no money I said I want my cash now he refused I called 911 waited 3 hours the officer said he should return my cash he lied said no cash or checks were there, the officer said if she signs this paper you are to mail her the cash on the next day he said ok, Ive yet to recieve my cash. Mike has taken 200.00 to a whole nother level, he has not seen the last of me. He said he hates welfare bitches, that income tax returns are for dead beat ghetto low life people, he said I was a typical black person, when I told him I was a child of God he said God hates me and OJ Simpson went to church and look what he did I was the typical black person, he said all you niggers are alike, I never once cursed him or spoke to him in a way that was disrespectful, even when leaving I said to him God bless you and did nothing but prayed for him. At first I was confused as why he would do all this over 200.00 but after reading these reviews I totaly understand. I really wish every one on here justice because this is not right, no one should be treated or disrespected in this way. I asked for the owners info he refused me so I did what I had to do, I will be sure to keep every one posted…..Godbless!2/21/13
THESE ARE THE MOST CROOKED USED CAR DEALERS AROUND. THEY MISREPRESENT THE CARS ON THE INTERNET TO HOOK YOU IN. THEN WHEN YOU COME IN AND SEE THE CARS IN PERSON AND QUESTION THEIR ADVERTISING CLAIMS, THEY YELL AT YOU AND TREAT YOU LIKE A JERK. TWO GIRLS WERE FAKING LIKE THEY WERE BANK REPS APPROVING LOANS. THEY JUST SIT IN THE BACK OFFICE AND SAY WHATEVER THE OWNER TELLS THEM TO SAY TO SCAM PEOPLE. THEY PRETEND LIKE THEY ARE TRYING TO HELP YOU BUT THEY ARE REALLY TRING TO PUT ONE OVER ON YOU AND OVERCHARGE THOUSANDS ON THEIR CARS BY SAYING ITS YOUR CREDIT AND YOUR FAULT THE LOAN TERMS ARE SO BAD.
This is true he told me he can trick his sales reps to say what ever he want them to say and he advertised and lied over the phone about a silver magnum and get there its 3000 more and the one he has is 6000 but in bad shape this guy will get his judgement and soon
This car dealer should loose their license to sell vehicles in the state of michigan. they have done nothing but lie to me since I have walked into the door.
Mike Cizmar and Tom MacDonald are the WORST car salesman I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They are both extremely unprofessional, unscrupulous and are major game players. They are also very immature and rude in their correspondence. A couple examples: I was told by Mike that he would give me a $200 “finders fee” if I sent him the names of any dealers that had car deals that beat theirs. I found two that did. I drove a car at a competitor’s dealership that was priced thousands less than the same cars at Consumer’s Suzuki. When I asked Mike Cizmar for my finder’s fee, he responded that he wasn’t going to pay me unless I actually bought the other car and sold it to him! I think he wanted it done this way so he could then sell the lower-priced car to someone at thousands more than the original dealer was selling it. Tom MacDonald agreed with Mike that I didn’t earn the finder’s fee because I needed to do more than just find the car, but I needed to purchase it for them so they could sell it at a major profit. Can you believe this? They both told me the car probably didn’t exist for such a low price, yet I had just driven the car at the other dealership and had the low price in writing. They accused me of lying and referred to the other dealership as “small time” and again suggested the MUCH lower priced car probably didn’t even exist. I received a dozen rude and condescending emails from both Mike Cizmar and Tom MacDonald over the course of just one day in which they belittled me and told me they weren’t going to send me any money, even though I had done exactly what Mike Cizmar had asked. They went back on their word to me and treated me the complete opposite of how a customer at a decent and ethical dealership would be treated. I wouldn’t buy a paper clip from Mike or Tom, let alone an automobile. My advice is to STAY AWAY from Consumer’s Suzuki of Brighton.
Tom McDonald and Mike Cizmar are the same person. He uses aliases to push his used car scams. He also uses the alias Jim Wilson and many others. “The Nations Bank” is a fake bank and the girls acting as representatives of this fake bank are actually calling from a room in the back. The entire thing is a scam and criminals like Mike, whose real name is Stephen Michael Cizmar, get away with it all the time.
They are also no longer a real Suzuki dealer. They lost the franchise some time ago and the property is in foreclosure. The bank that owns the property has allowed Mr. Cizmar to stay on the property as long as the heat and lights are kept on.
The place is a scam. If you want to pay 24.999% interest to finance $6000 on a $1000 car, then Consumers Suzuki is the place for you.
