I dealt with Norma and left sitting around for long periods wasting time, not to mention they showed me a dirty SUV. I had a pre approval and went there explaining I did not want my credit ran again and wanted to use my deal only. I was told by Norma this was ok and they needed stubs and then i could sign paperwork. Left sitting so long I had to go and was told i could come tomorrow and sign the documents. The next day they never called and said they did, then told me they had another buyer but if i get there soon it was first come first serve. I showed up told her i was buy the insurance, she walked off saying ok and disappeared. When the insurance needed the vin i was told the car was not there and Norma was gone on a test drive. The longest test drive i ever seen, I left and then was told they were trying to find me another deal. I was pissed I told the liars to not run my credit again. While most of the staff just sits around. Stay Away
THIS IS THE WORST BUSINESS I HAVE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH, NOT JUST CAR DEALERSHIP BUT ANY BUSINESS. SAMI MEJADADA (GENERAL MANAGER), ABBY MUJADADI, AND JAY MUJADADAI ARE LIARS. READ MY REVIEW BEFORE MAKING THE SAME MISTAKE I DID AND PURCHASING A VEHICLE FROM TEAM VOLKSWAGEN OF HAYWARD.
I purchased a 2000 Eurovan from Team VW of Hayward. Eric Warren (salesman) told me at the time of purchase, “every used vehicle has a 1,000 mile/ 1 month warrantY.” Sami told me the same thing while doing the paperwork.
2 weeks later the check engine light goes on and I call them. Abby spends all day Saturday trying to find my file and says call back on Monday. This makes me suspicious and I read internet reviews and they are so bad that I become worried that they are not going to honor the warranty.
I call back on Monday and Jay says, “Bring it in and we will fix it under warranty,” so I drive from Santa Cruz to Hayward and all they do is RESET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. By the way, Robert (service manager) is quite incompetent as well and says the check engine light might not go back on for a while and this is a maintenance issue and not covered under warranty. They also say I don’t have a warranty, so I check my paperwork, and sure enough there was no sign of a warranty. I was in a hurry when signing my papers and left without something in writing. Lesson learned. I call Eric Warren the next day and he told me again, “every used vehicle we sell has a 1,000 mile/ 1 month warranty.”
Then I called Sami back and he said I was out of luck but he would give me a discount to get it fixed. I told him I already brought it in and all they did was reset the check engine light. I ended up bringing it to my local mechanic and paid $700 to get it fixed.
I contacted 2 lawyers in the meantime and they both said to take them to small claims court. I also was going to subpoena Eric Warren and Jay who said it would be fixed for free under warranty.
So I called Sami and requested that he pay the $700 and he sad, “no.” When I threatened to take him to small claims court and contact ABC 7 On Your Side, his tune quickly changed and he offered to pay half of it. Although I’m sure I would’ve won in court, I accepted his offer so I would no longer have to deal with these lying and greedy so called car salesman and leave this experience in my past.
I also asked to record conversations with Sami, so I would have what he told me on record and each time he refused; thus allowing him to continue to tell me lie after lie.
Hopefully you don’t make the same mistake I did and purchase a vehicle from these people and if you do, take them to court and if you ever need a witness of any sort, please contact me, because these guys need to learn how to run an honest business.
:devil(Bait-and-switch
In retail sales, a bait and switch is a form of fraud in which the party putting forth the fraud lures in customers by advertising a product or service at a low price or with many features, then reveals to potential customers that the advertised good is not available at the original price or list of assumed features, but something different is. This use of this term has extended to similar situations outside of the marketing sense.
That is exactly what they did. I got there and the sales person ALEX acted he did not know what car I was asking for. I had spoken to him about 5 times and also an hour before arriving to the dealership and he told me he is getting the car ready for us. The manager and him are both bunch of old time car sales which I will want to stay away from… They tell you we have a deal …. no matter how specific you get ,,, you will find your self stuck in there for hours. We left as soon as we heard,,,,, WE WILL GET THE CAR FOR YOU.. Oh yeah… Suckers……….I am copying this to all sites for warn as many as I can to avoid them…..Good Luck.
This VW dealership is now known as Team Volkswagon. They are dishonest people. Check them out on BBB. There they get an F and 15 customer complaints!
As for me, I wish I could give them less than one star! I guess it is my fault for letting my 81 year old husband go for a “test drive” whilst I was elsewhere. He came home with a new VW jetta wagon diesel, which is the car he wanted, but he was talked into overpaying by several thousand dollars. Unfortunately he paid them with a check (which they promptly cashed). To add insult to injury they gave him a mere $2,750 for his 9 year old Nissan Quest van which had only 48,000 miles on it. I wanted that van for our grandson! When I found out how little they had paid for his Nisson van, we drove back to the VW dealership and said we wanted to buy the van back. At first Jay (a salesman) said okay because the van had major problems like needing a $400 brake job because the brakes were 95% gone. Then he said the red light that indicated the windshield reservoir was empty stayed on (this light had been on for two years and we had already told them that fact) therefore the entire electrical system was bad and would need to be replaced for $1,600. After telling us what bad shape the van was in, Jay said at anyway the van was in their repair shop.with the tires off–but come the next day, Monday, we could buy it back for the $2,750. Today is Monday, the supervisor Sammy, will not let us buy the van back . Oh, I just learned that I can get a new brake job for $150–it it really needs it–and a licensed Nissan mechanic says that the red light on the windshield reservoir indicated a burned out sensor.
What creeps. How demeaning. We got taken by this dealership. All I can do is cry about the fact that I have a too trusting husband and their are some unscruplous people who will take advantage of unwary senior without a second thought. Please do not do business with these dishonest people. VWs are fine cars but this dealership, its salesmen and supervisors are not good people.
Shockingly bad experience at Hayward VW- both Sales & Service.
Summary: Two sales agents lied about there being a key for our newly purchased car and/or failed to care enough to check for tagged key on the board. Service dept. manager attempted to charge us $140 for the original key to the car. At every point, this dealership made it clear they have ZERO integrity and care only about the sale and not the customer, their reputation or future business.
Details…
1.) Purchased used VW Passat and was only given valet key. One agent told me there was an additional key for the car. Second agent told me that the used car key board could not be accessed until Monday (no keys available on the busiest selling days?) Both agents promised to call me first thing Monday morning about the key (Ray and Abby.)
2.) No call on Monday about the key from either agent. I called Abby on Tuesday, was put on hold for a few minutes and then told there was no key but that they would sell me a new key at cost ($175.) I expressed my disbelief in anyone checking for the key and dissatisfaction with the dealership.
3.) My personal mechanic checked out the car and discovered a serious oil leak. I went to the dealership to have it fixed and was initially given the runaround and had to wait over an hour for an authorized agent to tell the service dept. to proceed with a repair. I ordered a new key to be made at the same time.
4.) Yesterday, the service dept. manager, Robert, called with “good news.” They had found a “used” key box for the “newly cut” key to “save” us money and would be reducing the key cost from $175 to $140.
5.) Today, we picked up the car and “new” key to discover it was the original/old key for the car that we were supposed to have been given initially. This was confirmed by more than one person in the service department. The key box was very old, the “cut” part of the key was dull and dirty, and the original laminated/used car tag was still on the key!
