I was high pressured into buying a used car. When I had a problem after the sale, Tommy HUNG UP on me rather than resolve the issue. When I told the sales manager I would not be returning to this location, he said, “If you think you can hurt us by not shopping here, go ahead.” The service department told me I needed a $400 repair, but when they became responsible for the repair, they decided that the car didn’t need it after all, and could go indefinitely without it. What a bunch of rude and arrogant people!
I went to Suntrup Hyundai in search of a new SUV to replace my 02 Elantra, that’s when I met Tony Schumann. I was looking for something a little larger to fit my wifes motorized scooter in. I sat down with Tony and told him what I was trying to accomplish and he said no problem, do you have the scooter with you? I said yes but I have to break it down into several pieces to fit into my car now. Tony then told me to start getting it out while he went and got me a Tucson so we could put it together and see how it fit into the Tucson. I was amazed that I was able to not only get it into the Tucson with ease but that Tony offered to let me take the Tucson, with the scooter in it, to my house and show my wife. I took the Tucson home and showed my wife and returned and bought the new Tucson and it was a hassle free and enjoyable buying experience, my wife and I love our new Tucson and most of all I don’t have to break down the scooter anymore to get it in and out of my car, that saves me a tremendous amount of time. I would recommend Tony and Suntrup to anyone that I know looking for a new car and a GREAT hassle buying experience!
I only spoke with Tommy on the phone. Once I got to the dealership and looked at the exact same cars I saw online, and saw they were marked up about $4000 for misc packages and whatnot, I walked right off the lot. I have heard horrible things about Suntrup and even saw they had an D rating from the Better Business Bureau but I figured I would still go and see, because I figured there was no was they could advertise a car on the internet for $4000 cheaper than it actually was on the lot. That is called Bait and Switch. Well come to find out all the bad reviews and BBB rating proved to be right. I am not sure how they continue to get away with this but it’s ridiculous. The only reason they can advertise that they will give you 5k over Kelly Blue Book is because they put unheard of packages or unwanted packages on every new car that conveniently takes the sticker price up about $4000-$5000. Please beware of anything that is too good to be true; because it most likely is, and thank you Suntrup for reminding us all of that.
When my Acura was involved in an accident last week, I was facing not only the bumps and bruising but the pending nightmare of a woman attempting to buy a new car. I still can’t believe how pleasant my salesperson, the finance officer, and the dealership as a whole made the buying experience! I love my new Hyundai! There was no pressure. Suntrup Hyundai is a class act.
