Bought an used car from this dealer. They did not keep the promise to make the repair and fixes. Delayed to process the refund on the hidden charges. Finally I managed to file a complaint in Small Claim Court in NY and I got my refund back.It took 4 months of my time to fight and get my refund Money back. So you better stay away from this dealer.

I was told I need service package D because I had over 27K miles. Package D for vehicles with 30K miles. After 10 minutes in waiting room I realized I had only 24K! I should have been given package B. Package B is for 25K. I Went back and told service tech. John A. He said he would take care of it and make the correction. I thought correction was to give me package B. this would have saved me $343. Finally got car back 1 1/2hr after promised time. Went to pay and was charged the more expensive package D. Went back to John to question why. He didn’t even want look at the bill. His answer was confusing and rude. He had earlier said he would make a correction. He only correction the milage they had on record. Not the service request and not the bill! It was like changing our phone number in their system. My husband and I were still confused and were looking at the paperwork for any other things they could have charged us for and John A. keep saying “Okay! Good-bye. Have a nice day”. We stood there trying to figure out our budget, he says again “Okay! Good-bye. Have a nice day”. Then went back to joking with his co-workers. We paid the $824 (we also got the state inspection, battery change and rear wiper change. Should have been only $481. That was the last time I will ever go back there. A few days later I filled out the on-line survey they asked me to fill-out. I gave them a bad review. I doubt they will ever respond. Star Toyota Of Bayside’s service, uncaring and dishonest.
I too got similare response from Ray and Sean from Star Toyota Used Car division.. They are very rude and cheaters…
After getting a high price quote I emailed Christine stating that I had a lower quote. She emailed, I can beat any price from anywhere… what is their price? I gave the price, and asked her to respond with her price and list of options and colors. After way too many e-mails she wouldn’t give me a firm price or response. I had emailed her previously no game playing…
When I gave her one last chance to give me a price now to earn my business, her response was “HA, HA I dont need your business … HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR??

(Customer)No thank you. Your price is MUCH HIGHER than the quote I’ve gotten from another dealer.
(Sales Consultant)
Price: $16,654*
Actually the people at this dealership are very nice and helpful …..They gave me a great price on my Camry!!!! 🙂 I read the conversation that was posted maybe you should have been nicer to the rep trying to help you!
Christina LIED about the circumstances. Her first price was $16,654 that I said was much higher than my other price quote. She said she could beat anybodies price; and then was not willing to tell me her NEW COMPETITIVE price and her options. Just told me to come into the dealership to meet with someone. This was supposed to be an internet pocess get a firm price and then just buy the car. I had nine e-mail communications from the dealer and was not able to get a price quote. You can determine for yourself if you believe this is the way to have a EASY internet transaction. This was not easy for me… all I wanted was a price and options and Chrintina wouldn’t give it to me.
The truth please! The $16,654 was Christina’s starting price (much higher than Bruce Edelman at Queensboro Toyota with no hassles). I told her I had a much lower price and she said she could beat anybody. After 2 emails from someone else, 6 from Christina I finally asked for no more games or hassles.. just a final price quote. She wouldn’t give me a final bottom line price in writing. Perhaps they wanted to play games with me once I got to the dealership? The ninth email from the dealer was Ha Ha… so we will buy a car from Bruce Edelman at Queensboro Toyota.. no hassles!!
After receiving a winner card, myself and husband went to the dealership. They told my husband that he was not a winner. Mr. Davis and Mr. Dunn trick us into signing a lease agreement for a Toyota camry 2011 LE.
My daughter went to see the car first. She made an appointment for the following day for me to see it. Now, having an appointment, Iwould have understood waiting 10 or 15 minutes, but it was closer to 4 hours. When we went to pick up the car 2 days later (which we had been told would be ready early morning) we waited another 3 hours.
The salesman had said the necessary repairs would be completed by then and we could drive it home. Apparently he made no arrangements for the repair, so we had to wait again.
When we went to pay for it, the promised adjustments had not been made (another hour). AFTER having paid it was another nearly two hours, and the promised portable GPS was not in the car. We had to go to another lot to pick it up. Also, the car was FILTHY. In fairness to them, they offered to wash it, but I couldn’t spend another second in the place, where it was freezing cold and the chairs came from medievel torture chambers.
Whatever you do, STAY AWAY.
Great deal and very happy with my new car. Thanks to all at Star Toyota
I too the vehicle in because the rear defroster, rear wiper and rear door glass was not working. I was told after the diagnostic test, which cost me $106.00. I will have to replace the rear door motor and the ECU. They told me the cost for the material and labor was about $875.00.
I declined and took my vehicle to another shop. After the mechanic checked the vehicle he said the rear motor was faulty. He replaced the motor which I bought on-line for about 20% less than what they we going to charge me. After he replaced the motor, the defroster, the rear wiper and the rear door glass started working.
This repair cost me a lot less than the cost estimate I got from Star Toyota and I did not have to replace the ECU.
Mian and the guys at Star Toyota really did a great job. Thanks for your help in assisting my mother with her new Camry.
Yang was very informative, kind and considerate of my time.
It was the easiest, painfree car buying experience of my life.
Thanks Yang and the Star team.
Worst sales and follow up experience ever. These guys need some serious customer service training. Move on to the next dealer and you’ll be glad you did.
Due to faulty and recalled window clips, the driver’s side window of my Corolla came off track. Through an online search, I found out that Toyota was replacing the clips free of charge. However, when I arrived at Star Toyota I was told that I would be charged $106 for them to assess the situation. I reluctantly agreed and made an appointment for the next day.
As I was waiting for them to return the car to me, I was called back to the counter. The representative told me that while the repair shop had my car, the driver’s side window fell out and shattered. He did not feel comfortable releasing my car because of the broken glass an the lack of a window.
Frustrated, I allowed them to keep the car and hoped that they would be able to fix the problem. The representative then informed me that I would have to pay for the labor to assess the problem, the labor to replace the window and the window (that THEY broke).
Now, a problem that Toyota was going to fix free of charge was becoming insanely expensive. I placed multiple calls to Toyota Headquarters to find out what should be done. After determining that the faulty window clips caused the initial problem, Star Toyota said that they would fix that problem free of charge. After I placed more calls to Toyota Headquarters, Star Toyota agreed to replace the window free of charge (I could pay the initial labor assessment if I wanted too).
That was a day and a half ago. I haven’t heard from Star Toyota since and they still have my car. I have no idea if my car will be fixed today, tomorrow or by the end of the month. I have no car and as a result can’t do too much (Star Toyota did not offer a loan car while they fixed the car).
If you like being treated as a worthless customer and like to pay people for disrupting your life, go to Star Toyota. Otherwise, stay far far away from Star Toyota.
I went to star Toyota because I had saw a used Camry on their website that was exactly what I was looking for. After arrival at Star Toyota I met Gilbert Martin; a sales person that would soon make my car purchase much more difficult than it ever should have been. After examining the car I wanted and asking the sales guy several questions of interest; he responded in a nasty tone “Did you come here with the intention of buying a vehicle!”His rude remarks and bad jokes continued throughout the entire car purchasing experience. He later made me a promise “off the record” that he would personally repair a part of the car that was cosmetically damaged. This promise and other that he made before the car purchase he never kept and never had the intention of keeping.
On future visits to the dealership, I had to wait over an hour just to get him to speak to him, only leading to hearing him deny promising me anything. Managers present, although seemingly nice proved useless as they didn’t want to deal with the situation themselves.
Overall I would choose Westbury toyota over this place and if you have to avoid dealing with GILBERT MARTIN at all costs…don’t say I didn’t warn you.
