Great dealership! My sales representative Lauren Moloney was fantastic. Lauren made the whole experience exciting and pleasant. No pressure or typical sales tactics. Lauren is a true joy to work with.
I was looking at a vehicle on the internet and the next thing I new, I received a personalized video clip of the car I was looking at. James was my ( I mean is my )salesman and he was so informative and he got me approved for a 36 month lease on a Brand New Ford Escape. I so love this car. It’s only a 4 Cylinder but with the eco boost, it makes up for the difference. I will definitely be dealing with Skalnek Ford again!
I went online to look at cars and the next thing i know I received a video of the car I had just looked at it was great and personal. ryan my salesman even called me right away, when I came in te car was sitting at the door cleaned and warmed up for me. I felt like a special person, the way they treated me. I bought my car that day and have had nothing but good experiences since.
My wife purchased a used car from Skalnek earlier this year. It was just out of the 36 mo. warrant, and only had 24k miles on it so it seemed like a good buy. When test driving, I noticed something seemed wrong with the steering, so before signing paperwork, I had them get it in the shop to check it out. They told us everything was fine. We took the car home and had it back to them within a week. To make a long story short, they ended up having to replace the steering column, replace all sensors, replace the complete exhaust system, put in new head gaskets, and fix a bunch of wiring. This car could NOT have gone through the pre-sale inspections they had claimed…it would have never passed. They sold us this car KNOWING FULL WELL that the previous owner had tried to do a lot of customizing and that there were some major problems! I asked them right away to buy the car back and they refused. I even spoke to the owner Steve and he passed me off the his numbers guy. He now refuses to return my calls. They might be fine for buying a new car, but be very weary about their used cars. We trusted them enough to purchase this vehicle based on their reputation. Unfortunately, it turns out that they lied and deceived us to make a buck. THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!!
I purchased my Jeep used through another Ford dealer with a Ford bumper to bumper extended warranty. My experience with Skalnek’s service department was absolutely awful. I brought my 2006 vehicle into their service bay to get some electrical issues diagnosed. My vehicle was under a “bumper to bumper” warranty through Ford yet off the start I was required to sign off on a $92 diagnostic fee (just in case the problem was not covered by my “bumper to bumper” warranty). It turns out that my vehicle required a $767 part to be replaced. At this point, Skalnek informed me that the part was not covered under my “bumper to bumper” warranty, and I was going to have to pay them to send my car to a different dealer that had the capabilities of fixing the electrical issue. After taking some time to think about this I decided to request that my car be released since this dealership could not service the problems with my vehicle. The service department did not have a problem releasing the vehicle to me if I agreed to pay them $92 for diagnosing the problem that they admittedly could not fix. After some conversation regarding my past loyalty to their establishment, I was told that “someone has to pay the technician and it surely ain’t gonna be me.” The customer service level of Skalnek’s service department is as bad as I have ever experienced. Myself and my family will not EVER give them our business again, and I urge any prospecting buyers to do the same.
We offered them 19,200 on a car and they accepted on a sticker price of 21,800. They promised free delivery which we accepted. The deal was agreed upon on a Thursday and delivery was to take place the next day. We had a problem with having our funding available from our bank so we told them to hold off until Monday. Ted said that was fine but we should put a deposit down of $500 to “seal the deal”. On monday the salesman Ted said that his sales manager (who we were told on Thursday that he approved the deal) was on vacation all of last week and he looked at the deal before Ted walked out the door and said he could not sell the car for that.
We were told basically sorry, they made a mistake you can have your deposit back and if you want the car you can pay the full price of 21,800. I took time off of work, and we are now left without a car and no way for me and my wife to both commute to work. I was in shock that a dealership would do this. DO NOT go to Skalnek Ford. If they agree to a price it has to be benefiting them and you have to get it in writing because their word means nothing. We even spoke with the owner himself.
