My car was towed because it would not start. $500 charged to replace coil and spark plugs. Car started but ran worse than before. In addition to not running on all cylinders, it smelled of gas and the AC no longer worked. Was told that I needed a PCM for $1100 which would fix the problems.
The Mustang died again and would not start. I purchased a refurbished PCM and had it installed at another shop but it still would not start although not firing on all cylinders according to tests. The anti-theft system was keeping the car from starting so I had it towed back to the dealership. After flashing the system, the car still would not start. The service tech called to say that it smelled of gas and tried to blame that on the other shop for not connecting everything. When I told the tech that was a problem that was happening before I took it to the other shop and I had told the dealership about it and was not happy that I had spent $500 on repairs at their shop to have the car back in the same non-working condition that it was in when I took in the first time. In addition, I am out for the PCM which they said it had to have and three weeks of car rental. His response was that I would have to pay for another diagnostic.
This is the situation so far. Updates to follow.
