I attempted to work directly with the GM John about my experience and he assured me he wouldn’t drop the ball. First of all I only agreed that my credit be ran through Volkswagen, yet they ran my credit all over the place then lied. Secondly I was not called back when promised, then I received text messages from several people off the same number, asking me the same questions and giving me different information. Jose assured me I was approved for a vehicle but when I was ready to pay and come pick up my vehicle, they lied and said the bank needed proof of funds but denied my proof of funds, EVEN THOUGH my proof of funds was never presented to the bank AND the bank was not even the bank I submitted nor agreed for my information to be sent to. Brenda the “sales manager” was happy to give me the news since I called the GM and he made her do her job.
After this fake denial, I even emailed the GM to clarify and provide proof of income, including tax returns, to no avail he never responded.
Overall, poor communication, dishonest, and poor leadership. Oh I forgot to mention, middeal Brenda says my car was sold like 20 mins after she gave me the information I requested about the vehicle. I’m exhausted writing this.
Bottom line, I wouldn’t recommend this dealership, sorry not sorry.
Bill Jacobs VW’s service is terrible. The 2017 VW Golf has an engineering flaw in the sunroof that causes the drains to get clogged with dirt. Most sunroofs have a metal windscreen that pops up, but the Golf has a fabric windscreen that captures dust and allows it to flow into the channel. Our sunroof leaked as a result. We had it in for the 10k, 20k service and were never told about maintaining the sunroof by blowing out the drains. But when it leaked they said it was our fault due to poor maintenance, while also telling us that at 40k miles they would have checked it. They offered to blow it out for $380. We declined to be ripped off, and did it ourselves for $0 in half an hour. If we wanted to include upholstery cleaning with the blowout, the price was an additional $1420. We steam cleaned it ourselves in half an hour for $0. The only thing we could not remove was the mechanic’s grease that he left on the padding. They were very rude as well- when they called with the quotes, after having the car for 2 full days, they said they needed an immediate ok, and if we declined the service they needed the loaner back immediately. BTW, if they give you a loaner, it is $6.50 for gas if you do not fill it and $100 cleaning fee. I don’t remember that with my Toyota dealer, who never ripped me off and was very generous with loaners (thanks Dan Wolf Toyota for setting a high bar). So two lessons for readers of this: VW is not a good company. We bought the diesel that they engineered to pass the emissions test illegally, and had to buy this car as a replacement. We now have a regular job of blowing out the drains. And Bill Jacobs, whose service manager and GM have declined to follow up on this, is not a good dealership to buy from. You are welcome in advance of a bad decision.
Horrible customer service. Rude, disrespectful and condescending. As a former VW owner I was disgusted by the workers and lost all respect for the brand.
The vehicle was ready sooner than I expected. I needed the work done quickly but they were ahead of schedule. Great job.
I appreciate Ricardo and all of his hard work during the sales process. I consider him my friend as well as my customer service contact for VW. Virco is also one of the best people that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in the service department as well. This is my third Jetta and I hope it will not be my last.
The Service tech was extremely considerate on simple issues that I had with the car and was able to find the problem. He also gave me updates throughout the wait.
Bill is enthusiastic and energetic. I appreciated his input on the scheduled and additional work that was done and on his keeping me informed. Bill has a great customer service attitude. Many thanks to the service technician who worked on my car. I do not usually get to the see the person who actually does the work and makes recommendations and am, therefore, not able to thank him in person. Many thanks to the dealership for having loaner vehicles available. This is a great service which adds to the overall customer satisfaction with Bill Jacobs VW.
I have had this vehicle serviced at both Pugi and Orland VW for the same issue and they did not fix it. I brought my Jetta to them 7 times in 4 years for the same problem and it was never fixed. I brought my vehicle to Bill Jacobs and they took better care of me than either dealership. They also worked with me and VW corporate to get a known problem with a wiring harness in the door fixed and went OVER THE TOP with help!!! I am 64 years old and have been out of work for 2+ years. They actually cared about what I had to say and treated me like a queen. I will continue to go to Bill Jacobs and recommend them to my friends for their purchase and service needs. I will NEVER recommend the other two dealerships.
This specific dealership provides excellent sales service. They are friendly, considerate and interested in giving their best customer service.
I would like to commend Virko Tammaru on his professional and courteous attitude. He exemplifies the great customer service you appear to be striving for. I’d recommend him to teach a course on good service, except that would take him away from his role providing that great service!
Bill Jacobs VW sales and service staff is outstanding. This is my 2nd vehicle purchase from this dealership and I will likely consider them for future purchases and refer family and friends; as their service and staff is second to none. Additionally; the sales consultant (Andy) did an excellent job in matching my needs to the appropriate vehicle. He was very friendly and knowledgeable.
I took my car in for a new battery. This dealer eatimated thousands of dollars in repairs that were not needed. Tried to scare me into thinking the “problems” were “extremely” serious and needed to done immediately. Example: I was told that I needed a new timing belt, the one I had was “extreeemly worn”. Very serious. Well I knew this was not true because I had a new timing belt installed one year ago by an honest dealer in another city. Told me I had many other problems that were bogus. Will never go there again.
Test drove an Eos on Saturday, no sales person was available to help so we left (I had my wife and 2 month old son with me). Browsed the website and choose a Black Eos Komfort and emailed the saleperson to see if they still had it. They did and I went in on Monday and purchased the car. On Tuesday I went throught the manual and the equipment on the car and realized there were somethings missing from the Radio – so I pulled the ad and then found more equipment missing. The car is a base Turbo and not the advertised Komfort. I contacted the dealership and they gave me the run around until Friday and then said they would not take the car back and if I wanted a Komfort I had to pay more to get it. They should not be allowed to do business in Illinois (or anywhere else!) I’ve had the car for over 3 weeks and have not been driving it because I am awaiting a resolution after reporting this to the BBB, FTC and IL State Attorney. Avoid these Bill Jacbos dealerships – they cannot be trusted at all!
