Big island toyota would not honor the Toyota factory platinum 70,000 mile extended warranty I purchased from toyota at the time of purchase from the selling toyota dealer
the car had 40 k miles on it and had to be towed in
They charged they me $122.00 to diagnose and plug in a loose connector – when I expressed my disappointment at his insistence in this not being a “Toyota Platinum” warranty repair- the service manager held the car ransom for cash payment expressing his fear that I would dispute the charges – makes one wonder how many charge backs they get!
I had to call the police to help me reclaim my car
Avoid these folks cost this just seems to be a churn and burn outfit.- would be my 2 cents worth
Big island Toyota takes advantage of the fact that they are the only registered dealers in the island, there price are way higher than standards, when it comes to service they are really arrogant and charge you whatever they want, they don’t respect your own time, they never give you any answers is always a mind game playing kind of thing… I had a really bad experience with this car dealer I love Toyota but this experience made me go to get a Honda instead…
BIG ISLAND TOYOTA STOP DE ABUSE!
We chose Big Island Toyota to purchase our car and perform our service as we were under the impression that we were getting the best service for our Toyota vehicle. The corrosion discovered in December was so complete that there was no way it wasn’t present during previous services and Toyota did not point it out when they were under the vehicle. Neglecting to call attention to the problem during previous paid services prevented us from being able to address the corrosion issue before parts began to fall off and perforate the frame. At this point Big Island Toyota has declared that the vehicle has no value whatsoever. After we complained to the GM they will no longer provide service or repair to us at the dealership which is a real problem they are the only dealer on the Island
