My wife and I stopped to look at cars today. Found one that we liked they wanted to check our credit 790. But we are paying cash. Pressure to buy was over the top. and wanted us to make payments at 7.5% with our credit score. Needless to say we walked out. I understand that that is part of how a dealers makes money and that’s fine. But this place is criminal. 7.5% on a new car. Worst Dealer Around
The worst experiece I’ve ever had in try to buy a car.
DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. AWFUL STAFF, AWFUL SALESPEOPLE (seemed more interested in ‘So you think you can dance’ than ACTUALLY HELPING PEOPLE)
If there is any justice this place will go out of business. I SO WISH I could remember the sales guy’s name… A stereotype, GROWN MAN talking as if he were a teenaged ski bum on a break from the slopes. Unreal.
This place is a joke. We worked with Cody who was absolutely terrible! The word scum comes to mind.. Cody (the joke of a salesman) informed us that we were idiots, and that the Hyundai corporate website (http://www.hyundaiusa.com/) was wrong. This is one of the sleaziest dealerships in Utah. We went to Murdock Hyundai Orem and were treated nicely, given a great deal, and got a great car for my sister. None of that would have happened at Riverton Hyundai. Avoid this place, especially Cody! They refused to tell us how much she was actually paying for the vehicle. They informed us that we “weren’t paying MSRP” however, when I finally got the numbers from them, the amount was above MSRP. When I showed them this, they told me that the Hyundai Website was wrong… Cody is terrible, however there was a nice gentlemen named Dan whom we had the pleasure of first talking to, then we had to deal with Cody, who wasn’t a manager, he was just the middleman in between Dan and the Manager. Dan was still trying to over charge us, however he didn’t insult us or tell us that the manufacturers website was wrong, that was Cody. If you have to deal with Cody, walk away and go to the Hyundai dealer in Orem. Just avoid this place in general. It’s not worth your time.
When Cody called my sisters phone I answered and informed him we were buying a car for my sister at a different dealer, he then informed me it was a mistake not to buy from him. I told him that his attitude is what made us not want to deal with his dealership to begin with. His exact words after saying that “Well, I can appreciate why you feel this way when you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.”
We instead went to Murdock Hyundai in Orem, they were amazing.
I bought a vehicle but when I checked their online listing of the vehicle I realized that I Paid about $1000 more than they even had it listed. I should have researched their inventory a little better. Once we got to the financing stage, theydid not try very hard to get the lowest rate possible. They tried for about 20 minutes and called it good.
Basically they fit the mold of your stereotypical car salesman, Greasy, annoying and trying to wiggle every dollar out of you.
